Monkey Hill Farm at Deception Pass

House on 30 private acres with beautiful views of Puget Sound and surrounding area. Less than five minutes from Deception Pass State Park. Fully fenced front yard. Ten minutes from NAS Whidbey, Navy jets may fly overhead! High speed internet with Firestick TV. If you bring a dog please leave an extra $60 per dog per week (or per stay if less than a week). 

Upper-Level Unit (Available for Rent)

This well-maintained upstairs unit features:

-Three bedrooms (king, queen, bunkbed) and one bathroom
-Private entrance
-Exclusive fenced front and side yard with plenty of space
-Full exclusive access to the deck.
-Full access to the surrounding yard, and large grassy areas—perfect for tents,
games, or relaxing outdoors
-A spacious living room, kitchen, and dining area, including a bar that seats 5 and
a table that seats 10–12. The living room also includes one queen sleeper sofa
and one double sleeper sofa.



The lower unit is fully separate. The downstairs tenant is very quiet, respectful, and rarely heard, providing a peaceful and private living environment. They also love dogs and are happy to help with walks or quick potty-break let-outs if needed—an extra perk for pet owners.

Six adults stayed comfortably in the house. The location is fantastic -- great view. The dining room is amazing -- huge table with views out the large windows in the back of the house. The house is older, but worth the money compared to other places available to choose from.

Relaxing weekend at Monkey Hill Farm

My wife and i stayed the weekend with our rwo dogs. Nice property with a great view. Fully fenced yards made the stay with our dogs convenient.

Pleasant and relaxing

Family Trip to PNW

Very much enjoyed our stay at this home. Great fit for our need to be able to easily come and go. Amazing view! Very kind, responsive and attentive owner. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at monkey farm. The property is very spacious, clean and well equipped. The view is amazing and location is unbeatable. Very close to amazing beaches and Deception pass park. We would love to stay again.

We loved this place. It's off the main road and away from the busy areas, but close enough to run out grab food or shop. The scenery is indescribable. The place is just as described in the listing. We would absolutely stay here again if we were back in the area. The host is available if you need something, and communicates well. There is a road in front of the house, but there is also a fenced yard in the front, if you make sure to keep the gate shut your dog cannot get on the road. The Navy jets do fly right over the house. We loved watching them and hearing them. If you are in the area this is a great place to stay.

Monkey Hill Farm

The best view you will have to watch the sunsets! Wonderful farm house, well equipped, close to hikes and beaches. We would stay again. Great fenced garden for Riley to watch the world go by. Craig was easy to contact.

Wish we could stay longer!

Lovely house, perfect for what we needed. Beautiful view. Host was very responsive, even on a holiday weekend. Highly recommend staying here. Really nice kitchen and laundry facilities. Great grill and outdoor seating. One bathroom and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Second bathroom and 4th bedroom downstairs, accessible by outdoor entrance/ stairs only. If we are ever in the PNW again, we will want to stay here!!

Beautiful!

The house is awesome! Quiet and peaceful, yet not far from Oak Harbor or Anacortes. The property is beautiful, and the huge windows in the dining area offer great views of the field and ocean behind it. The owner was very accommodating, even letting my friend borrow the 240V outlet to charge his EV. The kitchen is pretty well stocked (definitely enough for us to make some good meals). The beds were all comfortable, and the bedrooms quiet during the night. One last note, while this isn't necessarily a reason to travel somewhere, the couch in the living room is unbelievably comfortable (I mean this honestly, the couch is great).

Nice View. Spacious.

3 bedrooms plus outside entry 1 BR sleeping studio apartment in lower story. 1 shower/toilet for apartment, 1 shower/tub/toilet for main floor. Kitchen, living and dining are are quite nice. Bedrooms are decent. View is spectacular. The downstairs outside entrance apartment is rustic but only a pampered snob would object given that this property is offered at a reasonable price point. Property is a little nicer than photos present. We would lease it again. It’s a nice place. Owner lives nearby and is occasionally at the large acreage parcel as it is a working 20+ acre hay farm - which is a charming uniqueness in its own right. Give it a try. James and Jennifer

We had a wonderful week. The view is amazing and the house is spacious. Having a washer and dryer was very helpful. There are a lot of jets from the nearby base. This was a plus for us because we love to watch them fly. But there is a lot of noise so it might not work for everyone. You can tell that a lot of thought was taken to decorate the property. There is a ping pong table in the basement that was a lot of fun. We discovered that the cabinet in the living room has all kinds of games a little too late. We had everything that we needed. There is both a keurig and a large coffee pot depending on your needs. The only thing that would make it perfect would be having a more accessible shower on the main floor. There is a claw foot tub that was a little difficult to climb in and out of. It’s a beautiful piece and fits the decor. Just not easy for everyone to use. There is a regular shower in the bedroom downstairs. Overall we would stay here again.

Perfect location and view

Three of us single, senior women stayed in this property in April, 2023 and visited the nearby Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon. This property fit our size needs with three bedrooms and was located about a 20 mile drive from where we needed to be. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the enormous dining room table afforded us a place to have our meals and play cards with an expansive view of the nearby water. The clawfoot tub, which would be very attractive to most people, was a bit of a challenge for us as it had very tall sides so was difficult to get into. There is a fourth bedroom and a shower in the lower level but it is not accessed from the upper level so it requires walking down a flight of outside stairs. I only mention it because others with our physical limits would need to know about it. The Whidbey Island Naval Air Station is very near by and very loud jets do maneuvers at all hours of the day and night. It took some getting used to! Communication with the owners was excellent and, overall, we loved this place.

Tranquility with a view

This was a much needed get away! The property was very well maintained. Plenty of room and supplies. The kitchen was well equipped for any kind of meal. The only thing missing was an ice cream scoop. We got the pleasure of meeting the owner. He was very hospitable. He was working on the far end of the property and we didn't even hear him working. He was only there during the day on the weekend we were there. Which is understandable since he has a Christmas tree farm and a hay crop. We didn't feel put off or uncomfortable at all. Our dog loved the property. The sunset view was amazing! I'm sure we'll be back again!

Absolutely wonderful property! Sunlight filled the dining room and kitchen and the view off the deck was amazing. Great location between Oak Harbor and Anacortes right next to Deception Pass. Everyone in our large group raved about this wonderful property.

Wow! What a spot!

Monkey Hill, silly name, awesome place to be! Craig was great to work with and very accommodating. The house was clean and peaceful with an outstanding view! We spent a week in the PNW and this was a great central location for adventures in all directions. If I could give it more stars, I would. Thanks for an amazing stay, Craig!

Great View Convenient Location

Our Host was extremely helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca from the large dining area and deck. Perfect for a family vacation. The property is close to Cornet and Deception Pass state parks. 15 minutes from Oak Harbor Marina. Beds were very comfortable. Living room, kitchen, and dining all have plenty of space to enjoy. Convenient fenced area if you are bringing a dog. We all enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous home

We loved our visit to the Monkey Hill Farm. Water pressure was great in both upstairs and downstairs showers. The views were amazing and location to hiking and deception pass was perfect for us. We enjoyed the large yard & large kitchen.

Very Nice

This property is in a great location, just minutes from Deception Pass. This time of year it is also a great home base for visiting the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. The house is very well appointed and maintained, as are the grounds. Dog-friendly with nice fully fenced front yard and acres of fields for walks. The owner is an excellent communicator and expends effort to assure his guests have a good stay.

Great North Whidbey location.

Perfect for casual family week/long weekend. We would stay here again. The view was spectacular. The deck was a great place to relax and take in the sunset. The dining area was a great place to enjoy the view when the weather wasn't ideal for being outside.

Very accommodating and close to outdoor activities.

Had a little issue with check in due to my own fault for losing the check in email but, the host was understanding and happen to be on site. The property had everything we need including kitchen necessities and shampoo and conditioner in case you forgot your own. The view from the kitchen is gorgeous. My dad accidently knocked over a teacup and broke it and we were ready to reimburse them for the damage and they told us it was ok. Now I understand the high rating , atmosphere and hospitality of the host. Our family loved it and will definitely stay again.
