This rental is spacious, clean, and quiet; beautifully appointed. Our hosts were helpful. Street parking was available.

Easy access to Downtown

Cool house to stay at and location was very easy to travel into DT Chicago. Considerably less expensive than comparable houses DT and North. Well worth staying at.

Beautiful home

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed! The only complaint is that there were air fresheners everywhere and they were a bit overpowering for us, but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

Chicago Stay

This house was very clean, comforting and architecturally amazing. It's a15-minute drive to downtown before rush hour and generally in a good area. Had some communication with the property managers and they were very kind, easygoing and accommodating. Definitely recommend this listing.

Family reunion 2024

The Griffin mansion is so beautiful. Anybody would be crazy not to take advantage of this beautiful gem, like walking into the past when houses were made with the finest workmanship absolutely awesome. Big and very roomy…I WILL come back to Griffin mansion.

Family stay at Griffin Manor

Not the best neighborhood; girls were a little scared at first, but didn't have any issues. Very nice place and owner was great. He put 3 window ACs in there with isulation for us since we are used to 70 degrees. Tub had jets and was nice. Plenty of hot water. TVs a bit small. Bed was super comfy. About 15 mins from downtown, 30 in rush hour. Had a blast overall.

We love this beautiful home

The pictures don't do this home justice; it is absolutely gorgeous! We arrived late at night the day of check-in, but we were still able to take in all the beauty. The home is very secure, towels were provided, kitchen utensils were available, and there was also complimentary coffee and wine. Additionally, there were tons of books available in a built-in bookcase for our reading pleasure. Since I am a whole nerd, I (along with my husband) took full advantage of it. I'll be coming back to town in a few months, and will be booking again just so I can relax and bask in this mansion one more time and read some more books. We did not have to contact the owner for any reason, however he did come out to greet us when we arrived the first night. This was greatly appreciated. My 8yr old loved the home so much, she wrote the owners a letter before going to bed the first night and wanted to deliver it to them personally, but she found a nice spot in the kitchen to leave it for them. Definitely reserve this home!!

Beautiful property and amazingly well-priced. The inside spaces are all gorgeously decorated to match the antiquity of the house. Clean, kitchen was stocked (TONS of ice in the freezer which was helpful!).There are just a few things I would have liked to know beforehand that weren't mentioned in the listing and I think could be for transparency. First, the building is old so it barely insulates against noise- you can hear cars, people talking, dogs barking, etc. but the neighborhood itself wasn't that busy. Second, this is a FLOOR of a property being rented out. Someone lives or stays on the third and first floors. Both of these are not bad things, but I do wish they were disclosed so I/others better know what to expect. Overall though, I enjoyed my stay here a lot.

great space for r&r & hitting the town

easy on and off from 290, easy to blue or green lines, quiet street. had whole 2nd floor. well-furnished w/ 3 sitting areas plus table in the kitchen. perfect for 2 couples and a 5th wheel. one of our party enjoyed a bath w/ jets. owners were great, too. highly recommended.

Lovely Stay not too far from Downtown

This was a lovely listing and I had a great time at the home. The listing is closer to the Garfield Park neighborhood but it was a short 10-15 minute bus ride to the downtown area. If I came back, I would use the public transit more than Uber/Lyft. The homeowners had some wine and some snacks available at the listing when I arrived which was a lovely touch. The master room has a TV in it and the small lounge room in photo 10 is actually connected to it with another TV if people would prefer more privacy. The listing worked well for me because I was traveling on my own but might be hard for others with only one bathroom and the master bedroom not having a real door. I was a little nervous about renting a property that the homeowners lived at but they were very respectful of my privacy and you will have the entire 2nd floor to yourselves. They were very quick to reply to any issues that I had and I would definitely recommend connecting with them prior to arrival. The listing was easy to access and uses keyless entry but stairs are required. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows felt like sleeping on clouds.
