Private house with pool. Pool has view of ocean through the trees on a dead end road with plenty of privacy that ends into jungle trail known as Retro Mae that will take you to famous Playa La Macha, a secluded beach with pre-Columbian turtle traps, and a trail system to three other beaches .
There are plenty of animals. Guests say they see more in this area than in Manuel Antonio Park.

The house is 200 meters away from the beach on a hill elevation of 218 feet .
Family friendly house, there is plenty of room to explore.

Parking for up to 6 vehicles.(PLEASE NO LOW PROFILE VEHICLES JUNGLE HOUSE IS ON JUNGLE ROAD BIG ROCKS )

Casa Playa la Macha is one. of the few houses in the area, and located between Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
All local activities are either a short walk or within a 5-10 minute drive from the house.
Marina Pez Vela, all beaches, restaurants, shopping, Manuel Antonio National Park (a must) all are very close.

The drive from the airpot to the house is approximately 2.5 hours door-to-door.

Dan was an excellent host, there was nothing that we needed that he could not get for us. The birds and the monkeys were nearly in our laps, as well as the iguanas, which was a little disquieting. All in all, I recommend this site. It was great for my wife and I, our daughter and her family of five. The trail too Playa de Mancha is a little sketchy, but you can get a ride to local beaches via taxi and Matt, the owner is able to hook you up with a reliable taxis.

This home was truly magical for our group. It was clean, well-stocked, and just a short drive to downtown Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. We actually saw more wildlife from the pool deck and front porch than we did during our visit to the park itself. Each morning, monkeys visited the surrounding trees, and we enjoyed daily sightings of iguanas, macaws, and other wildlife. The hosts were incredibly helpful, providing great information about the house and local area, and were always responsive to our questions. We would absolutely stay here again!

We absolutely LOVED our stay. The location was amazing and we saw more wildlife around the house than we could have hoped for. The house was perfect a perfect layout for our family of 8 (My husband and I and 6 young adult children). We were close to downtown, the marina and all of the excursions we wanted to participate in. It was our first time to Costa Rica and Matt and Adriana were incredible hosts. They were responsive to our questions and offered great suggestions for local beaches and restaurants. The pool was beautiful and is where our family enjoyed hanging out together most evenings. We can't wait to come back and would definitely recommend this place!!

We had a wonderful trip! The house was perfect for our group of four adults and five preteens and teens. One afternoon while enjoying the pool we had a visit from a troop of squirrel monkeys, which was unforgettable. We highly recommend this property!

A beautiful haven in the jungle

The house is really special. Super spacious with everything you could want for a holiday. The pool was a massive hit with the kids, and having bedrooms on different floors was really useful for our 2 families to feel like we had our own spaces. The beds were so comfy and there were towels for the house and the pool. A perfect stay

Great house

6 of us stayed in the house for a week to celebrate the wedding of one of our children. The hosts were wonderful and answered questions quickly. They also were informative about things to see in the area. We would highly recommend this villa and we hope to return.

Amazing property

Perfect getaway

We loved the property and our time in Costa Rica! There was plenty of room for our group. The walk to the beach was difficult but amazing once we were there. We enjoyed our evenings by the pool. The host recommended a great chef to us and we were thankful to have her for every evening meal.

A quiet tropical paradise

We were 3 couples for 10 days. The house was clean and lots of space for all of us. The pool area was beautiful. Matt and Adriana were helpful and responsive from booking to check out. Definitely need a 4x4 for the road in. We didn’t have a vehicle but Cesar got us where we wanted to go.

Wonderful Costa Rican getaway

Wonderful off-the-beaten-path house set amongst the palms and jungle trees. Yet very accessible to the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio restaurants, beaches, and national park. We had a 4x4 SUV which made driving the 1/4 mile dirt road to the house fun every day.We loved listening to the birds every morning, and watching the monkeys play in the trees roght from the porch. The pool was a great way to cool off every afternoon too.

This property was great for our family of six. It is truly located in the jungle! There's a beach within walking distance - Playa la Macha - you can't drive to the beach and the terrain to access is rough, but it is beautiful. And, because of the difficult terrain, it doesn't seem to be a huge tourist attraction. We had the beach practically to ourselves! When the kids didn't feel like going to the beach, the pool was a great alternative. From the pool, you could watch capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws, and iguanas sunning themselves. If you rent a car, make sure that it's a 4x4 because the house is down a mostly gravel road. Some of the tour companies are willing to pick you up in front of the house and some will only meet you at the top of the hill at Hotel Bongo. It wasn't a big deal for our family to make the short walk up to the meeting location. Adriana, the owner was great -she was helpful with suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. And she DOESN'T give you a "laundry list" of things to do at checkout - like strip all the beds, take out the trash, etc. You are truly on vacation when you stay at her property. It was a wonderful trip and we would definitely stay here again if we ever decide to visit Costa Rica in the future.

Feels like your in the jungle.

The home was big and well appointed. The pool is on the 3rd level and was refreshing. The house has all the modern conveniences but we lost electricity several times. Easy drive into Manual Antonio or Quapos. Both have lots of restuarants and the beach is close, about 10-12 minutes by car. They have an excellent coffe shop with homemade breads in the first town. We didnt visit the tidepools as the walk was too steep for us so cannot comment on that. Overall a nice place to stay.

Great house in the jungle!

Adriana and Matt were incredible hosts and we could not have asked for more from them and their beautiful home. The home was in great condition, with all the amenities, a fantastic porch and an inviting pool which we used daily. Each morning we got to enjoy the wildlife (birds and monkeys) with our morning coffee. Matt gave us many restaurant recommendations, all of which were 5 star in our book. He even went so far to put us in touch with a local to help us spot sloths, which we did. They made us feel welcome and safe and we cannot recommend them enough!

Beautiful Quepos!

We stayed in this home with another family for a week! It was our very first time in Costa Rica. From a few days before our arrival to an urgent need after we left, Matt was extremely kind and helpful. We loved every moment of this trip from the recommendations on beaches and restaurants to the tranquility of the house. Monkeys even gave us a surprise visit during our morning coffee on the front patio. I would absolutely recommend this home for your trip to Costa Rica. We miss it already!

The wonderful house in the jungle

Omg is how I have to start the house is all that you see and more in the pictures. My family and I had the best time sitting on the ba lcony was adventure of a life time we sean and interact with the monkeys also got to see a hold family of howlers the macaw put a show on ever day a sloth and her baby,the beach my family love the walk to it .l could go on and on the house and all the wildlife it has was breathtaking. We will never rent anywhere but at the house in the jungle, and the owners of this amazing place is just as wonderful, thank you from all of us
