We had a great stay on the quieter side of the island! The neighborhood was lovely and the house was perfect distance between Beal's and the town. Everything was clean and the host was friendly.
We had a wonderful time staying here. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and the rooms worked out perfectly. We were happy to see the bedroom blinds had been updated from the pictures to blackout shades. Everything was great.
My family of 6 had a great visit to Acadia National Park and the surrounding Mount Desert island. The Harbor Boat house was a perfect place for our family to stay while exploring the island. It fit our family comfortably and was walking distance to Southwest Harbor with its restaurants, cafes and shops. The apartment was clean and had a spacious living room kitchen area for my kids to relax after a day of hiking or boating.
This was our second stay at Harbor House and we loved it again. Spacious and comfortable, we had everything we needed for a fun-filled vacation. Kathleen is always available to help. The town is a short walk for ice cream or to catch the free shuttle that runs to Bar Harbor. The balcony is a peaceful retreat to read or relax at the end of the day. My grandkids are looking forward to returning next summer!

Thank you for your kind review and for taking such good care of Harbor Boat House
We visit MDI annually but first time staying in SW Harbor. The location of this rental was amazing, and open up opportunity in walking distance that we loved. The space was perfect for me and my two teens. Look forward to returning.
Wonderful location in Southwest Harbor with views of the harbor boats. Well appointed kitchen with everything we needed. Kathleen and Paul were great hosts and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we return to MDI.
Great property in SW Harbor, 5 minute walk to Lobster Pound, 5 minute walk to town, and short drive to sights on this side of the island. Love the deck and the view from it. Quiet, clean, and comfortable home. Great host, thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to review Harbor Boat House. We hope you return sometime
Our stay at Harbor Boat House got our vacation off to a great start. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, directly across from a pier with wonderful views and in easy walking distance to town, as well as a ferry departure point, the garage apartment was comfortable, well stocked, and clean. Our hosts were pleasant and available with information about the area but not "in our business"during our stay. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed our weeklong stay here with our not-quite-2-year-old, who loved the view from the balcony. We spent most of our time outdoors in Acadia, a short drive away which made it easy to return for the kiddo’s midday naps. There was an initial hiccup with wifi service, but the owner was responsive and replaced the router which worked well for the remainder of our stay. The listing did not mention that there is in fact air conditioning, which we were grateful for on the warmer days. Would return!
Perfect location! This is an apartment above a separate building, so there is no noise through walls from the owners.
Public dock across the street where you can watch the sunrise/sunset over the water. Walk 5 minutes or less to numerous restaurants, an inn with a bar, shops, coffee, etc. Easy access to everything on the quiet side, just a few minutes to Echo beach or Bass Harbor, too. We ate twice at Beale's (walked) and twice at Archie's (several minute drive).
You're just down the hill from a very pricey resort, it's a nice neighborhood.
Quiet area. Property is better than the description and photos show. Large flat screen TV has Roku and cable.
Definitely will try to stay here again if we return to MDI.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the very positive review. We hope to see you again at Harbor Boat House.
We enjoyed our stay at Harbor Boat House. The place was clean, comfortable and had all the essentials you would need. Plenty of dishes, cutlery, glasses, pots & pans. Extra towels, beddings & blankets were also available. Wonderful view of the Harbor which was nice to see first thing in the morning. Great location if you enjoy the peace and quiet. This was our second visit to Acadia and we would love to come back and stay here again.
The space was open and pleasant with three private bedrooms and one bathroom. The kitchen had everything that we needed. Beds were clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.
We really enjoyed this home! My husband, 3 year old and I had a great time. The place is clean and in an amazing location. The quaint little town was just what we needed. You can see the water and boats from the balcony. There was a grill and everything you need to cook in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was absolutely fantastic. We would most certainly book this home again if we were to return to the area!
This home was the perfect setting for our Acadia family vacation. It’s spacious and super clean, and had everything we needed for the week. We are looking forward to returning next year!
Good location for exploring Acadia’s quiet side. The apartment was was sunny, clean and well-stocked, with a nice harbor view from the deck, and met our needs perfectly.
Everything is great about this place. The location is half a mile from the center of Southwest Harbor. It is just across the road from the harbor, and you get very refreshing sea breezes off the ocean. It is well designed, with three bedrooms, all about the same size, two with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. The beds are comfortable. There are night stands next to the beds, with lamps. There are also overhead spotlights, great for reading in bed. The closets have box fans and extra bedspreads. The great room has a sofa, loveseat, two sitting chairs and a rocker. All are comfortable. There is a large flatscreen TV. The decor is tasteful. All three bedrooms have ceiling borders. There is a large nautical map of the island in the great room. The eat-in kitchen has a table for six. It has a full size fridge, no automatic icemaker or water dispenser, dishwasher, stove, microwave, washer and dryer. It is very well equipped with utensils, cookware, dishes, and glasses. There is no AC, but we didn't need it, even in mid-August. There is just one bathroom. The shower has plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. The house is above a garage, with 19 internal stairs. The owners are very nice and helpful. The price is great for the area. There is a fair amount of traffic on the street out front, but the house is well set back from the street, and the traffic is going only about 25 mph, so not that loud. It's a quiet neighborhood. It is in town, so if you want a more rural, remote location, this is not it. It was perfect for us. We had three in our party, but four or five would be fine; you just have to share the one bathroom.
