About this property

The Old Butcher's Shop (4), Heacham, Norfolk

The Old Butcher's Shop is a spacious and delightful detached conversion, oozing character and style, located in the centre of Heacham within easy walking distance of the beach, shops and pubs/restaurants. Comfortable and stylish, it makes a great romantic escape for one or two couples or a small family.

Beautifully transformed and converted by the owners into a gorgeous detached holiday home, this special hideaway is ideal for both walking and cycling enthusiasts who want to be in a thriving village yet within easy reach of the countryside, beaches and sea.

Formerly serving life as the village butchers, The Old Butcher's Shop sits under a slate roof with Norfolk red brick walls. A solid oak king-size bed rests as the focal point of bedrooms one and two, dressed in beautiful linens and textured throws, which promises a peaceful and sumptuous night's sleep. A further double bedroom is stylishly equipped with beautiful window dressings, mirrors and artefacts. Using a palette of calming chalk paints intermingled with splashes of colour, the large family bathroom has an essence of French boudoir.

Sit outdoors with a pot of tea and survey a map to plot your day; whether it be walking, cycling or simply heading to the beach. If you can't bear to tear yourself away from this beautiful house, then relax outside in the sunshine in the lawned garden. There is private parking to the rear of the the property for two cars. Whilst retaining its authentic character, we´re sure you'll be seduced by the charm of The Old Butcher's shop unique features.

Lovely stay
Owners very obliging as building work going on next door and they left wine for our inconvenience. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Unable to have a fire in TV room which was disappointing but otherwise had a lovely stay.

Wonderful stay!!!
Just an amazing property! Neat as a pin and the location was near everything. We enjoyed the comfortable accommodation and walked to the beach, shops and pub. Drive way was safe and sound for our rental which stayed parked the whole time. LOL

Short break in Norfolk
The house was very nice and overall we had an enjoyable stay. The heating was a bit unpredictable so at times the house was cold and didn't warm up very quickly. It would have been nice to have a fire that worked in the front room as it was rather cold and drafty in there. A good idea would be to swap the two living rooms round with the TV in the back room which was more cosy and overlooked the garden. The bedroom was cosy and the bed very comfy. Both the bathrooms upstairs were great and the roll top bath was an added luxury. The location of the property was good for visiting lots of local attractions and there are some very good pubs nearby.

Wonderful Property for a Winter's Break
Pam and Graham have done a fabulous job of renovation at this property we gad a fantastic stay despite Storm Dudley & Eunice. My only disappointment was that due to some renovations that need to be completed we couldn't use the open fire in the Sitting room. But we were able to use the log burner in the main hallway. Overall a Fabulous place to be and Heacham us like stepping back in time so quite peaceful you hardly saw anyone so different from being in London and the Essex Borders.

Our stay in Heacham
We enjoyed our stay at the old Butchers shop. It was very central in town and everything was very convenient. The house was warm and cosy with the wood burning going in the evening. Thanks again for a great holiday!
