A lovely house with beautiful grounds and a very good swimming pool. The owner was sadly in hospital during our stay but had arranged for a friend to assist. Initial difficulties with the WiFi were resolved after a couple of days. The washing machine is in the owners house. The beds could be improved with more substantial items.

We had a lovely holiday here. What a beautiful part of France with friendly people. Christiane & her gorgeous little dog are fantastic hosts. The house is full of character and charm. Christiane helpfully provided toilet rolls, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, tin foil, kitchen roll, bin bags, washing up liquid, surface spray, tissues & cling film. The garden is stunning and the pool is great to relax by and cool down in.It is so peaceful and the village is lovely with bakeries, great restaurants, a bar, small supermarket and other useful shops. If you have a car there are so many stunning villages to visit all under one hour's drive from the house. Christiane gave great suggestions for nearby places to visit. We can't wait to come back.

Tranquility in a heavenly village

The property is everything you see in the pictures and Christianne is a wonderful host. Very accommodating and provides all the information you need to plan your holiday. The cottage is beautiful with gorgeous garden surroundings and a family sized pool which is fabulous to sit and relax in the afternoons Saint Alvere is a stunning village with 2 x fantastic restaurants, 2 x Boloungeries, a mini supermarket, pharmacy and tabac. You are central with a 3min walk to everything but the property is quiet and tranquil We will be back !

A little paradise

We had a very nice relaxing vacation. The location was situated very near the heart of the village. Two bakeries and restaurants- pharmacie- a bar - a little shop and the wonderful small market on monday. The house was very lovely and the garden with the pool super. Christiane is very hospitable and Monsieur Swing - her dog - adopted us and Brioche - our dog. For us it was a wonderful vacation. Thank you - Christiane and of course kisses for Swing......

This is a peaceful rural location in a small picturesque village. The village has a number of facilities including a shop, coffee shop, bar tabac and a few simple restaurants. It is very well located for visiting different locations in the Dordogne. The house is well equipped. The garden is lovely. We were very unlucky with the weather so we could not take advantage of the outside space but our dog loved the space and was very happy playing with Christiane’s dog. There aren’t laundry facilities at the property as described in the listing. The host is very nice and speaks good English. We are in our late 70s so a single upstairs bathroom was a bit of a challenge especially for my wife who is slightly handicapped. Overall we had a good holiday but not the weather we hoped for.
