Perfect location for the local vibe of OB. Walk everywhere easily, for more food and drink than you can consume. Rooftop view is unreal. Porch off the kitchen was our go to for hanging out. Lots of stairs and ladders, so that's a consideration if it applies to you. The property is in the nature of OB. Not the super-fancy, but definitely good value once you realize the scene you are in. We're all in our 60's and it suited us well.

The property has definately been a rental for some time. The couches are very worn and not really in good shape to use as sleeping spaces or even comfortable enough for sitting. There were no dish towels or hand towels. The bed bed frame in the bedroom need

San Diego Trip

Property was perfect for our group the teenagers loved the lofts. There was plenty of space to have your own area and not feel crowded. Great location. Beach and dining and shopping within walking distance and the rooftop deck let us enjoy beautiful sunsets and fireworks shows.

Great Location

Overall a fantastic location, fantastic amenities and cleanliness. Almost perfect. Only complaint is that the heater did not work. I contacted the property manager by text and through VRBO chat to inquire about it and never received a response. November is cooler and it was a little inside chilly at night.

Perfect fun house

I stayed with a group of 9 gals in our 30s and I have never enjoyed a rental more in my life! All the lofts and stairs made it all the more fun and I felt like a kid away at camp. We had all the amenities necessary plus more! The outdoor shower, rooftop, and proximity to the beach were a huge plus. Beds were also very comfortable and the place was a lot more spacious than I expected. I would absolutely love to stay again.

Wonderful stay

I recently stayed at this property with a few of my friends while celebrating my birthday. The house is so cute and in a great location. There’s an outdoor shower connected to one of the rooms and it is magical. The house has everything you need. There’s rooftop access which is great for sun and fun. A short walking distance to the beach and a bunch of bars and restaurants. Also just a quick drive or Uber ride to everything in San Diego. I will for sure stay here the next time I’m in town.

Fun Rental Near the Beach

This rental was great! Everything was as advertised with many levels, lots of sleeping areas for different people, a great rooftop, and good accessibility to nearby shops and restaurants. Everything was clean and in good condition. Most definitely don’t rent this vrbo if many of your guests are unable to climb ladders or stairs. Or if small spaces are difficult to use for anyone. My group loved our rooftop. We hung out there everyday. Great bars and restaurants were walking distance! Pedro was very responsive. I requested early check-in since our flight landed earlier than 4 PM as well as late checkout/ the ability to hold our bags at the rental. I do wish he was able to give responses to these questions earlier then the day of check-in/check-out but I understand he has to communicate with his cleaning team.

Beware!

I debated leaving a review, but too many issues with this stay to not share! First off, if this is the property cleaned up I couldn’t imagine it before! The furniture and carpet is stained, the bathroom is missing an outlet cover directly near the sink, and the outside shower off the main bedroom is clogged and completely covered from rust dropping from the railing above. And the worst part now is that I was charged a security deposit, I’m assuming since there wasn’t any communication about it, which was then refunded as I left the place cleaner than I found it…..but then I was charged again numerous days AFTER my stay. I emailed questioning it and have not received a response. The only word that now comes to mind is…..SCAM! DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!! FIND ANYWHERE BETTER!!!!

Great location, not great condition

We loved the location. I am surprised this place has gotten such stellar ratings, though. Outdoor shower: amazing, life-changing, made me want one for my house... But, passersby can pretty much see your body. If there were just one more wood plank along the bottom of the fence, and one vertical one along the corner, it would have gone from rated R to rated G. Laundry: dryer door was broken--it would not stay closed, and so the dryer would not run. Pedro said he would send a handyman but no one ever showed up. So, I had to buy some tape to close it. That did fix the problem. I strongly suggest bringing some packing tape with you if you stay here. Dishwasher: time-release latch to hold soap was broken. I tried putting an extra detergent packet on the top rack to try to delay release. Didn't really work... I hand-washed. Coffee maker: drip preventer broken for when you take the pot out of the unit. Utensils: overall cheap and lacking; for example, seven spoons in the house for the five of us, no measuring spoons, dull knives, etc.Condition: much shabbier than in the pictures, such as extremely uncomfortable couch, a big crack in one of the windows, a few boards games but boxes falling apart, only a few beach towels supplied, etc, but clean. Wifi code: not listed in the house or on VRBO or in the welcome email.Host: answered quicklyLocation: phenomenal, a short walk from the beach Rooftop: not fancy but extremely pleasant. But, no table to eat our food at.

We enjoyed it, but...

This property worked fine for us and there were a lot of great things about the house, but there were definitely a few drawbacks. We still enjoyed ourselves despite the issues. The pros- great location, great view, thoughtful extras (yay for coffee before we got a chance to shop!), so many beach towels, easy parking, no ridiculous check-out list! The cons - everything is a little run down (the pictures must be from a long time ago). Not a huge deal in most cases, but the dishwasher dispenser door doesn't work, so the dishes don't get clean. The water pressure in the indoor showers is bad. BBQ pit was barely useable (it must have caught fire at some point?). No door shelves on the fridge. Dryer sounds like a freight train. Outdoor spaces need a good cleaning. Low budget pillows. The depends - We had teens, so the loft beds were fine. They didn't like them, but it worked and I thought it was a fun concept and good use of space. Definitely not a space for young kids or older folks. The property is a great idea, but executed cheaply.

We had an absolutely amazing time at this property. Literally only a block from the beach. The rooftop has the most amazing 360 view of Ocean Beach! The outdoor shower was such a cool bonus!

Room had bugs crawling across floor, there was a different sofa tan what was advertised and was filthy. Front door inside handle fell of when first entering unit, hand railing support broken. The sliding glass door would lock. The washer dryer had hair and scum in it. We had to clean for we couldn’t find a place to stay the first night and canceled the rest of the stay while we go charger over 400 dollars for cleaning and host fees.

Our group of 7 (including young adults and teens) had a wonderful stay! We had plenty of space to spread out and relax. The teens especially loved having their own suite on the lower level. The home itself was full of fun touches and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of our favorite features was the rooftop deck which was perfect for watching SeaWorld’s fireworks at night and soaking in the ocean views. Having a bathroom on every level was a big plus, especially with a larger group.The location couldn’t have been better! Just a short walk to the beach, great restaurants (OB NoodleHouse was a favorite) and shops. We made the most of our time here and honestly didn’t want to leave.Already dreaming about coming back!

We're a local San Diego family, a local designer & developer and realtor who along with some friends had a crazy dream of building three prefab homes on the beach to visit with our family from time to time. These three beach houses, built by local San Diego families, are our slice of heaven and proudest achievement. The portuguese cobblestone, an homage to the Copacabana boardwalk is a nod to my Brazilian heritage. We love sharing our homes with the world and our kids love sleeping in the lofts and hanging out on the beach for days on end. We're often staying in one of the homes with our families, our parents, our kids or some friends and would love to meet like-minded vacationers with a love for the beach, fresh air and good times!

Built, designed, and managed by local San Diegan families, the space reflects their love for and investment in the delightful and quirky Ocean Beach community. It is intended to offer individuals, couples, friends, or families a retreat to one of the last true beach towns in Southern California.

Inside, the home is bright, modern, clean, and professionally decorated and furnished. It can sleep 11 people. The first bedroom offers a queen sofa bed, two twin beds in a loft, a TV, and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers a queen bed and bathroom. In the common space, there is a semi-private sleeping loft with a queen bed, a reading nook with a twin mattress, and another full size sofa bed. The common space has a fully equipped kitchen, a TV, and a full bathroom.

The home features a large 600 sq ft rooftop deck with amazing ocean views, chairs, loungers, and a BBQ. You won't find anything like it in the area — dine, listen to the waves roll in, or watch an amazing West Coast sunset from your own private space.
