70 steps to the BEACH! Three block walk to Belmont Park and local dining and attractions. Newly remodeled (May 2023) with a wonderful open design, perfect for enjoying with the whole family! Four bedrooms are as follows: TWO KING bedrooms and TWO bunk rooms. Great for sharing!

Located on the beach side of Dover Court in South Mission, just south of Belmont Park and the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster. Part of a two-unit home, this property is the whole upper-level, located above a separate two-bedroom beach cottage.

TWO OUTDOOR AREAS: ONE BALCONY DECK OFF THE LIVING ROOM WITH A WHITE WATER VIEW AND ONE ROOFTOP DECK WITH AN OCEAN VIEW! Note that this property does not share the ground-level patio, and instead has a balcony as well as a private rooftop deck. Spend your mornings and evenings on the rooftop complete with BBQ, sitting area, and ocean view! Enjoy grilling and dining while just steps away from the deep blue sea, the boardwalk, sandy beach, and surf. The location is ideal, making this property convenient to beach activities and all the other sights you don’t want to miss while in San Diego! Check the map to see for yourself!

* We love our furry family, but please leave your pets at home. We have a strict no pet-policy to keep our homes clean and allergy-free for all guests!

* Lots of bike, kayak, surfboard, and sailboat rentals all nearby.

* Plenty of boogie boards and sand toys available at the property for guest use.

* We have a guest laundry room with multiple washers and dryers that will help you pack lightly. Don’t forget your beach towels!

* Garage parking! Private reserved two-car garage that barely fits a large SUV with big garage door open, but we advise to bring/rent an average or smaller car at the beach, if you can!

Friends and family

A baseball weekend trip for 2 couples to get away from the stresses of home turned into 3 couples, kids, and a grandma. This place had space for everyone and was steps from the beach. Would definitely return. Great host. Mentioned that the upstairs fireplace wasn’t working and a new one was delivered in the morning. Awesome experience.

Fun location and place

The kids and I really enjoyed our stay. The beach is so close to see from the balcony or rooftop, and nice to have a short walk onto the sand. The place was clean and comfortable.

Holiday Get away!

We had a wonderful time in Mission Beach at Mermaid’s Hideaway. It was lovely- the space was large and open, with great bedrooms and the rooftop deck was awesome. It was steps to the beach and conveniently located close to restaurants and coffee shops. We had great breakfast at the Blue Palm, right around the corner. The kitchen was really well stocked with equipment and the owners were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful place

This place was perfect for our large group with kids. The kids loved the loft bunk bed room because they all got to stay together in one room. The kitchen and living room area was very spacious. The kitchen had a great amount of plates, utensils, pots, pans, everything you could need to make dinner at home. The location to the beach was great and the kids enjoyed access to the boogie boards and sand toys.

Wonderful Staycation

We absolutely loved the house and the layout. It was perfect. The location was amazing! The owners were very responsive with any questions or concerns. Overall, we had a wonderful staycation!

Very expensive for what it is - no air conditioning

The home was overall ok. The claim that it is fully renovated is a bit of a stretch. The kitchen and living room absolutely are new and beautiful. But the bathrooms are dated and just put stickers on old tile with a landord's special paint job on old cabinets. Bedrooms had very old outdoor carpet. We were very surprised that there was no air conditioning. In fairness maybe that is the norm for this area but the two smaller rooms with the bunk beds were tiny and no real air flow in them made it VERY uncomfortable for the kids to try and sleep in there. Not having a/c was definitely our biggest issue. There was no propane tank on grill and roof top deck fire feature propane tank was completely empty. We finally found back up ones a couple days in because they were not in the place the home guide said they would be. In fairness I could have just text the property contact and asked but didn't. When I did text her about something I did get an immediate response. Ice machine and water on refrigerator do not work and the lighting throughout was not great with a mix of bright cold white lights mixed with warm softer light. The bed mattresses were definitely not the most comfortable/high quality. Again, the home was ok and we did enjoy ourselves but for $5k for 3 nights we just expected a bit more I guess.

What a gem!

Very much enjoyed our recent stay and will definitely return. Location was perfect, and the open living/dining/kitchen made for a very comfortable place to hang out and make memories. Can’t beat the walk to the beach and Belmont park. The owner was so kind and communicative. A wonderful gem!

Beach Life

This home was definitely above and beyond our expectations! We have a big family and the cleanliness, comfort, and convenience of this location was a wonderful experience. We loved being steps away from the beach. Our family of 12 had the honor of being guests to a newly remodeled property with plenty of space and essentials to make our stay at ease. The custom made bunk beds were a plus for the young kids and everyone loved the extra comfy blankets & pillows provided. We were truly grateful for this find as Belmont Park was blocks away and kept our family entertained. The private rooftop patio was a favorite with the nice weather and stunning views. Again, I am so thankful for our stay at this home away from home it truly exceeded our expectations.

Fun in the Sun

Perfect Family Beach Getaway

The vacation house was exactly as-advertised if not better. Plenty of space for our group of 7 to spread out for sleeping, dining, or hanging out. The balcony and roof deck had amazing views. And the 2 garage parking spots (though tight) worked perfectly for our 2 SUVs.

The house is in a wonderful location! Just a block to the beach and a short stroll down the boardwalk to restaurants and Belmont Park. The to deck of the house is a great spot to hang out. The kids loved the bunk rooms, and it was comfortable for us all!

Nice Escape

We loved staying on Mission Beach. Property was comfortable and the kids were in close vicinity to our bedroom. The parking was tight for our Yukon we rented but we knew this ahead of time. The showers were nice and the beds and pillows were comfortable. This is very close to the beach and you can hear the waves and see it from the balcony. There are shops within walking distance. We felt safe with our six kids. Uber and DoorDash came very quickly when we ordered. We especially loved the extra sand toys and beach stuff. We loved our stay.

Great location

Location is awesome for those that want to be in walking distance of some food, the beach, and Belmont Park. Was extremely close to all of it. The property was very clean, had very accommodating space for 2 families if needed with all the bunk beds. Amazong rooftop hangout spot (unfortunately we had a rain storm so we couldnt take advantage of that). Only issue is that the parking space was so small it wouldnt fit our minivan so we had to find street parking everytime which in that location is not easy at all. If i had a smaller vehicle, this would be an awesome spot id come back to.

Great location!

The propert is in a great location. The garage is super tight...lol. The owners were easy to get along with and very accommodating. The only thing that we found off-putting was the carpeting. We tried to be respectful and take our shoes off at the door, however the carpet was very dirty. It had been vacuumed, just needs to be shampooed. Overall this was a great place to stay.

Awesome location and plenty of room for families

We really enjoyed the location and size of the place. We had a family of 7 and everyone had a bed and room to spread out. It's a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. It was cooler than normal at night so we were so happy that there were a couple space heaters and extra blankets. The kitchen was well stocked. The view from the balcony and roof top was amazing and what a fun little area. It's a short walk to the Belmont amusement park which is fun to visit. We did the city go pass and totally got our money's worth, we hit 6 things in 2 days. Definitely recommend the USS Midway tour. One thing to note is the garage is tight so we backed up into it to make it easier to get out but make sure you are comfortable with backing up into tight spaces before you attempt it. The carpet has some stains (looks like it's been bleached from cleaning supplies but the place was clean so we were happy. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for families or bigger groups that want to be close to the beach.

Girls trip

We had a great time here! The girls loved the two cute bunk bed rooms and it had everything we needed. We felt comfortable and the location was central to all our ventures. We would definitely stay here again.
