Another fab stay at Red Roofs

Red roofs is just in the most wonderful location - directly opposite the broads and a short stroll to 2 very good pubs. It has the most wonderful and secure back garden which is fabulous for those with dogs. It is an old rambling house so you have to accept some of the shortcomings that come with that but it is a wonderful place for large groups to be able to stay together. If you want all mod cons this isn’t the place for you - but if you want traditional, comfortable, space and the opportunity to slow down, it is 100%

Charming and comfortable

Our third stay at red roofs so you can tell we love it. It has a beautiful garden where we spent most of our time,completely secure for our 3 dogs. It is well situated to explore the Norfolk Broads. You can walk to the pub and to a beautiful nature reserve. The house has had some great cosmetic work done, it has enhanced the character and is also very comfortable. The owner Jane is so helpful.

Relaxing and dog friendly

Great property. Some properties say dog friendly but are really only dog tolerant. Red roofs are truly dog friendly as we tested to the max with a total of seven dogs. The garden is great for dogs and young children (and we had them to). Very relaxing. Well provisioned. Views over the broads lovely. Launching kayaks from the sailing club easy with friendly folk.

The location of the house was beautiful, all we could wish for. The house is spacious and light filled. It is in need of some renovations but still a lovely old house. The garden is very large and excellent for dogs. We know the area very well. It was like coming home. The bird and animal life is wonderful as always. We would love to return. Many thanks for the cake and goodies left for us. A very relaxing happy holiday.

Lovely Cottage Great Location

Apart from the fantastic location a major reason for choosing Red Roofs was the large enclosed garden which was ideal for our lovely dog. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We visited nearby nature reserve and all the adjacent beaches. All in all an ideal holiday.

Great location

Had a lovely week at Red Roofs , the location was great and the dogs all enjoyed the huge garden . Lots of good walks nearby and good pubs and restaurants. The house was equipped with everything we needed .

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful dog-friendly holiday cottage. From the moment we arrived, it felt welcoming, cosy and incredibly well thought out. The cottage itself was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. What really made it perfect for us was how dog friendly it was. Our dog felt completely at home, and the secure outdoor space meant we could relax knowing they were safe while enjoying the fresh air. It’s not always easy finding places that genuinely cater for dogs, but this one really does The surroundings were peaceful and ideal for long walks, and it was the perfect place to unwind and switch off for a few days. The hosts were also fantastic – friendly, helpful and clearly passionate about making sure guests have a great stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break, especially if you’re travelling with your dog. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! Wonderful stay on Hickling Broad

A 60th birthday celebration with sailing, kayaking and canoeing. Great place with lovely garden and easy access to broad via public slipway and local boatyard. Relaxing house with everything you could need. Loved the homemade cake and provisions left by Jane.

Comfortable & relaxing stay

Red Roofs is a comfortable house where is it very easy to relax. It is an ideal place to stay with a boisterous escape artist of a dog given its large secure garden and access to off the road walks out of the front door. The location is ideal with 2 pubs & a nature reserve in walking distance & the beach 20mins drive away. There are a range of water activities close by or you can watch the yachts & wind surfers from the chairs by the upstirs window Customer service deserves a higher score than 5stars!

A very relaxing place to stay

Felt so chilled & relaxed from the moment we arrived. Fantastic welcome pack. Ideal location for dog walking (& dog friendly beaches a short drive away), bird watching or just enjoying the view over the broad. Now the Pleasure boat Inn has reopened there are 2 dog friendly pubs within walking distance. East Rushton Cottages is by far the friendliest & most helpful letting agency I have dealt with

Thoroughly recommend whether you travel solo or with company

Overlooking Hickling Broad, Red Roofs is a lovely family home, full of charm and character in a lovely location. Huge rear, fully enclosed garden for the dogs - my 3 loved it. Ideally located between the coast and the rest of the Broads. Both the pre-ordered seafood platter and the pizza making kits were superb. Also recommend The Greyhound pub in the village.Thoroughly recommend whether travelling solo or with company.

So quiet but close to amenities

Red Roofs is a large character house. Very spacious with comfortable beds in airy large rooms. The gardens back & front are huge. The back garden is a dogs delight & perfect for all breeds of dogs playing ball & sniffy games. I have never seen such a large amount of goodies for humans including enormous sponge cake with the tastiest of jams. This house is perfect for family / friends meet up. Our favourite pub The Grey Hound was easy walk from the house except this time of year not always serving food but the Pleasure boat inn is of equal distance right onto Hickling Broad lake so you could walk off your meal. Sea Palling is a very short drive so the dogs & humans can get their beach fix with a great coffee & food at Beach Rock cafe after your walk.

A step into a different world at Rec Roofs

We were very excited to arrive along a quiet track next to Hickling Broad to find a wonderful, traditional and spacious house right next to the broads. We had such a lovely welcome with a tasty homemade cake waiting for us. The huge secure garden was a real hit with our dogs. They did a lot of partying in the garden, mainly chasing birds. And then a lot of snoozing by the open fire. The owner, Jane, was very caring and popped by with extra wood and to check we were warm and comfortable. The kitchen larder was well stocked with lots of crockery and glasses. Plus, two teapots! Red Roofs is a real gem of a property. If you want a traditional get away from it all type of living experience with wildlife on your doorstep and fabulous sunrises and sunsets, then Red Roofs is perfect. .

Comfortable, fabulous setting

We felt very welcome in this house. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The garden was amazing, our dogs were very spoilt. We had 5 adults and 2 dogs in the house and all had our own space.We used the fab bbq nearly every day. The broad is just across the road. You see so many different birds and boats going by. The village is lovely and you are in easy reach of boat yards and the coast. Also you can walk to two pubs!

Beautiful cottage in an Ideal location

Red Roofs was beautiful in a lovely location, it has everything you would wish for as a dog loving family, there is nothing our dogs couldn’t do here they do at home, the kitchen was very well equipped and all rooms and very spacious, the downstairs bathroom spacious but needs some TLC, the garden was the jewel in the crown and is big enough for numerous dogs Short drives to Stalham which has a big Tesco and lots of other shops including an amazing Butchers and Fish and Chip shop, choice of lots of dog friendly beaches and woods not to forget the day boat hire for you and your dogs stopping off at various sites Conclusion, one of the best holidays we have had and Red Roofs certainly was one of the main reason for this being a fantastic holiday

Lost count of the number of stays we've had at Redroofs. The location is perfect and the huge, secure back garden offers great peace of mind that dogs are safe outdoors. Always tidy and beautifully tended. It's a big house so ideal for perhaps multi-family or multi-generation get-togethers, especially with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. And there's plenty of everything in the kitchen! Short walk to village pub (Greyhound, Hickling Green), short drive to all the wonderful beaches of East Norfolk. Whats not to love ...

A wonderful weekend break

Red roofs was exactly what our party was looking for! A peaceful and comfortable place that allowed our dogs to stay too and with complete peace of mind of their security with the huge, enclosed garden. The rooms were warm and comfortable and the dining area big enough to accommodate all of us. The views of the surrounding water were wonderful. The local pub was in walking distance and staff there were very friendly and served great food. Only a short 10 minute drive to the beach provided us with a delightful walk along the coast. It was just a shame we only spent the weekend there as it would have been great to explore the Broads right on our doorstep. A return visit is a must!

Red Roofs is a very comfortable house and has every equipment for a perfect stay.

This location and holiday home is ideal for family members and multi dogs, having a massive garden with trees shrubs lots of lawn for them to do zoomies! The inside is spacious and the beds comfortable, An open fireplace with guards provided a cosy lounge on a colder evening and very easy to light with lots of wood and coal free, The kitchen has every modern facility, although the house isn’t modern, but a lovely place for chilling and such a quiet area, hardly any traffic, only neighbours vehicles and a few delivery vans. Ideal round walk from the house taking in nature and moored boats, Thank you to the owner Jane for a home made scrumptious cake and goodies left for guests!

superb venue

Red Roofs has a very special place in all of our hearts. This visit was our 9th.... All of our big family have stayed at one time or another. Jane and her team always prepare the house sooo very very well for visitors. And she herself is always full of kindness and joy if ever she pops in whilst we're there. We thank her for her continued attention to details for our comfort. And also a huge thank you to her for unloading and packing away our rather massive Waitrose grocery order on the Saturday morning before our arrival.
