Quiet Stay In Heart of Chablis
A friend (85 years old) and I (77 years old) stayed in La Suite for a week while visited wineries in the área. We had great difficulty finding the place. We do not speak French( the manager did not speak English. My advice, find the Brocard wine shop on the main commercial street. Across from it is a small parking area. On the far side is a portico. Drive thru the portico , follow the narrow street. Just after the church is the street of La Suite; it is on the intersecting corner.
LaSuite is on three levels. A generous kitchen and sitting room are on that level. A toilet is tucked under the stair to the middle level.
The middle level has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two twins. On the landing is a washing machine with drying rack snd ironing board. At the end of the landing is a modern shower and sink. No toilet on level two.
Level three is an en suite master bedroom with modern fixtures in the bathroom.
The stairs are narrow but with solid handrails. My 85-year-old friend stayed in the master suite on level three, to avoid using stairs in middle of the night. I was comfortable using stairs to use the toilet on the main level.
Though small, La Suite has been renovated and is very modern on the inside. It was perfect for our stay, for we cooked and ate all our meals there, being cautious about indoor dining during COVID.
You will enjoy your stay, once you find La Suite and are comfortable with the narrow streets.
