A Perfect Base For Exploring Skye And The Cuillin

Nyumbani is a traditional single storey Skye cottage situated in its own wrap around gardens overlooking beautiful Loch Harport on the stunning west coast of the Isle of Skye. Nyumbani mean 'our home', in Swahili, and this aptly describes this attractive cottage, with its homely lounge/dining room with open fire, deep leather sofas, family sized kitchen and 3 generously proportioned bedrooms. There is a lovely conservatory that provides a second lounge area, with large flat screen TV and DVD. Doors open onto the fully enclosed gardens that surround the property. Bed linen & towels provided.

This house fit our needs for our 2 day visit to Skye. We were 4 adults requiring individual beds to sleep in. There are very few properties that could accommodate this requirement. On the positive side the views from this house are stunning. We also enjoyed eating at the Old Inn in Carbost. It is a quaint charming village who sees a lot of tourists visiting the distillery.The house has experienced much usage over the years. The beds were not particularly comfortable and the linens were clean but heavily used. Otherwise the house had everything we needed. If your expectations are not set high you will be quite happy here. The rates are quite reasonable compared to other lodging in Skye. We felt it was a good value.

The cottage contained all that we needed for our stay. The cottage is showing signs of wear and tear, though none of this detracted from our stay. Lovely views, we made lots of usage of the conservatory in the evenings.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful located house on Skye. Lots of space with 3 bedrooms, nice beds, a nice sunroom and big kitchen and storage area. And great to have a washing machine.The kitchen could use a new fryingpan, and some cleaning of the cabinets. The outside of the house looks a bit shabby, but that is all just cosmetical.Overall great value for money

We enjoyed our two night stay here! Walking distance to Talisker distillery, close drive to Fairy Pools. We used it as a base to see other sights on Skye - Quaraing, Kilt Rock and Falls, Old Man of Storr and Portree. The cottage was spacious and comfortable for our group of 5. Lovely views from the cottage as well!
