Beautiful Cottage on a Lavender Farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Create lasting memories with loved ones while enjoying our five-acre property and our LOVE Lavender Farm (which is in bloom at the end of June early July), our well well-appointed rooms, picturesque views of the mountains and our fabulous location.
As you drive through the iron gate, you will immediately catch a glimpse of the mountains through the trees. Pretty flowers are sprinkled throughout the garden of this magical refuge.
Inside the three bedroom/two bath cottage, the decor complements the lush acreage with shabby chic tones of sage, pink, and cream. French and English antiques and twinkly chandeliers adorn each room flowing seamlessly from the living room, though the dining room and full kitchen. The main floor also features a queen-sized bedroom and an adjacent marble bathroom with a tub/shower.
Fling open the sunroom doors onto the deck and enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountain view. Take advantage of the outdoor furnishings for a lovely outdoor meal. Be sure to toast the magnificent sunsets and on summer evenings watch the fireflies emerge and blend into the starry sky.

WONDERFUL! Gosh, that REALLY makes my day! Thank you so much for such a lovely review and I am so delighted to read you will be coming back! We have two new restaurants opening in Rappahannock this month. Patrick O’Connell, our famed chef whose Inn at Little Washington once again earned three Michelin stars, is going casual. His cafe' is across the road from his restaurant and he’s planning a menu of “deceptively simple” food “done better than you ever thought possible,” he says. Also the Blue Rock Inn another fabulous restaurant close to the cottage, which has two dining options: a casual wine and beer tasting room, and a full-service restaurant with former Pineapple & Pearls head chef Bin Lu.
Look forward to hosting you again SOON!
Lovely place to stay during Fall visit to Shenandoah National Park and dinner with friends in Little Washington and Amissville. Immaculate and comfortable, the bedrooms and baths were perfect for us. We made little use of the kitchen beyond morning tea but it seemed fully equipped. We loved walking on th grounds and to the winery. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your second beautiful review. I love that you love staying at the cottage.
We stayed for a wedding nearby and we loved the house. The furniture and decor has been curated beautifully and the fairy theme was a magical touch, which our 2 yr old really enjoyed. Little Washington and Sperryville are idyllic little towns nearby and there is beautiful country all around. We enjoyed petting the horses next door and watching the fireflies in the evening. Would stay here again for sure.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage!
SallyAnn has a beautiful home! It was very comfortable and inviting. She very thoroughly gave us a tour of the home and had many resources available showing the many highlights of the county. The bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas were well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and again!!

What a delight to have you and your family stay at LeFay Cottage at Little Washington for your family gathering nearby. The children were lovely, and so well mannered. The cottage was left in tip top shape...and I LOVED the little touches left for me to enjoy with the draping of the throw blanket, cushions and other little displays.
I so appreciate you taking the time to write a review, and although your trip was brief, I do hope you will visit again.
Kindly,
Sally Anne

A very pleasant stay
We had a lovely time staying at Lefay Cottage. Our hostess could not have been more helpful, even scoring last-minute babysitting services for us, and our time there was relaxing. Secluded enough that we could let our small children run free in the yard without a worry, but close enough to (little) Washington, Sperryville, Luray and other communities that we were never lacking in things to do. It was a good weekend.

Dear Mr. Householder,
It was such a pleasure to host you and your family at LeFay Cottage at Little Washington. Delighted that the babysitting worked out for you to enjoy an evening out with your wife! Yes, indeed many fun things to do here in this area...I look forward to you all visiting again!. Best wishes, Sally Anne
Thank you so much for your review and lovely comments. It was such a delight to have you and your family stay for Christmas! I do hope you will visit again. Kindly, Sally Anne
Convenient to Washington Va as well as nearby flint hill and Sperryville and to hiking in the Shenandoah National Park . Quiet comfortable big private property .. lots of birds and light and sky . wonderful deck . We had a family reunion to run the Fodderstack 10k with people of all ages. Everyone loved it .
This cottage was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked through the door until we left, I felt like a fairy princess! It has everything we needed for a marvelous stay! There was much to explore around and in the cottage from hidden little gems to wildlife outside! I don’t want to spoil the little surprises for those that might be staying so I won’t tell all! You need not look any further for a beautiful stay if you are visiting the area! You won’t be disappointed😊
I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Lefay Cottage. This is the perfect location, with only a very short drive to wonderful restaurants, vineyards, and shops. Sally Anne is a true professional, passionate about her property, and passionate about providing the best possible stay for her guests. Of course, the proximity to Shenandoah Park and hiking trails makes for the perfect excursion, however the cottage itself and the property it sits on is oozing with charm!! It’s almost hard to want to leave. We will most certainly be back, but next time, maybe just my husband and I, and we’ll leave the kids at home.

I can't thank you enough for sharing your experience at LeFay Cottage at Little Washington. I truly DO CARE about my guests having a LOVELY time. Thrilled to hear you will be back! Best, Sally Anne
The listing is exactly as pictured. It is such a whimsical and comfy place to stay! The mountains are visible from the back porch, so I would sit outside with some tea in the morning and enjoy the sunrise! The little details around the property make it so enchanting!
The host was also amazing! I had a couple questions during my stay, and the host was quick to reply and very kind. Everything I could have needed was available from bug spray and cleaning supplies to board games and coffee. The welcome packet the host provided was immensely helpful!! It was very comforting to have this information provided for my trip! And I could tell the host takes the time to make sure the information is updated and accurate for each stay.
This was such a wonderful place to stay!! I 100% recommend booking this charming cottage!!
This cottage was so fun and very pretty. The moment we walked in I felt like I was walking into a French countryside cottage. It was so comfy looking and welcoming. Beautiful colors, gorgeous chandeliers, a wonderful back deck with a big table and six chairs, a small outdoor sofa, 2 grills, and lots of milling around space. I couldn't wait to unpack and sink into the shabby chic couch...which I did and it was fabulous.
There are books throughout the house, lovely flower arrangements, lots of little knick knacks to pick up and wonder about and some lovely art on the walls. I made a point to sit in every chair in the place and wasn't disappointed by any.
Our group of 4 had plenty of space to spread out into. 2 large bedrooms upstairs, one of which was a fairy garden in a bedroom...quite romantic. And another full bed and bath downstairs. The kitchen was well equipped and we found everything we needed to make a full meal. We used the gas grill and enjoyed a nice bottle of prosecco upon arrival.
One of my favorite things about the cottage was that I found something new everyday. So many fairies and hidden treasures among the chandeliers and flowers, it was a little adventure to look for them each day. The ground are wonderful and my boyfriend and I made use of a large hammock under the trees. We saw a groundhog every day who obviously lived under the shed and so many different birds. There a short, pretty walk up to a winery at the top of the hill and my friends took two quite challenging hikes in the area while I tested out the furniture for napping and reading:-)
All in all, it was a wonderful 3 nights and we would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantasy experience with all the comforts, and more, of home.

FANTASY EXPERIENCE! I lOVE IT! Thank you for expressing how much you enjoyed your stay. Everything you wrote, just makes my heart sing. Thank you.
Had a group in for nice meals at the typical places in Washington VA area. Cottage was one of four places we had guests use and it was a nice place for all the adult children to stay and hang together in the living room, dining room kitchen areas. They did not get to use the outdoor spaces due to the March snowfall!

As the subject line reads,… This was our second time and it was every bit as good as the first. We don’t at the Inn at Little Washington one night and enjoyed the local attractions on the other night. We also enjoyed the short walk up to the Little Washington winery! Sally Anne is a great communicator. I can also share from experience that the house is every bit as much fun and more in the warmer weather. I look forward to a return trip in the near future.

Come back again...LOVED having you stay and enjoy the cottage!
The Inn at Little Washington is such a FABULOUS experience and as you mentioned, we do have some great wineries, breweries & distilleries nearby! Hope to see you in the Fall, which as you know is magnificent to see the leaves change and enjoy the mountains.
We loved LeFay cottage for a girls weekend. It was a great location - we were able to visit a winery and a few restaurants, as well as hike and visit the Luray caverns. Sally Anne met us at the house to go over the details. We would definitely recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Sally-Anne Andrew
Creating the Dream A Place of Enchantment LeFay Cottage at Little Washington was born of a childhood reverie imagining such a place- a secret garden cottage exuding magic and mysticism amid the allure of hills as old as time. Azure and purple mountains majesty. Gated gardens adorned, guarded o’er faerie spirits. Fountains and curtains of roses, trumpet vines the colors of sunset weaving magenta hydrangeas, courting butterflies and hummingbirds under a mid-morning sun. The unpretentious, silver lining of a cloud-gray Cape on a craggy Rappahannock mountainside lane beckoned to me. Years of wholehearted investment followed, converting my getaway to my place of solace. With some toil, inspiration, perspiration, true labors of love and a few clear-cut Christmas trees, LeFay Cottage at Little Washington, became a lifelong fantasy realized.
Why they chose this property

Come for the serenity, breathtaking views, the dirt-road wineries, the world-class dining or just to chillax far from the maddening crowds. Stay as if it’s forever in a land that time forgot.
