About this property

Waneta Lakeside Cottage

Right on the water with lots of space and fresh air this new and charming cottage is situated in the heart of the Finger Lakes on the east side of Waneta Lake. Ideal for 1 to 2 couples, a girls weekend getaway or families up to 4. There are 2 bedrooms, an open fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area and bathroom with walk-in shower. Dine and relax on the over-sized covered deck overlooking the lake. A stairway from the deck provides access to a private beach with 4 kayaks.



The space

In addition to the many activities available in the Finger Lakes, the region is ideal for cycling and triathlon training. The lake is great for open water swimming. The roads are reasonably quiet with lots of rolling hills. If you have a bike, bring it! Bikes can be kept in the garage. The autumn is a great time to visit. The fall colors are spectacular in this area and the wine season is in full swing. During most winters the lake freezes and is a popular location for ice fishing, ice sailing and cross lake skiing.

Amazing Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at this home on Waneta Lake. It was quiet and relaxing and the deck and dock areas were perfect for taking in amazing views of the lake. We used this beautiful spot as our headquarters as we explored the finger lakes region. It was a wonderful stay for our anniversary trip.

Great experience!

Kent was a great host and his cottage was charming all around with little touches that really made us feel welcome. I particularly enjoyed fishing from the dock and drinking coffee from the main deck area. If you’re looking for a smaller FLX experience stay here.

Another great stay!

This is the second time I’ve visited and it was just as wonderful this time around. I couldn’t recommend this cottage more! It’s the perfect spot for a girls’ trip and anniversary trip or anything else. Five stars and a wonderful host!

Awesome vacation

I would recommend this place to anyone it is right on waneta lake and you can stand on the deck overlooking the water. Beautiful sunsets, quiet, peaceful, and chairs by lake to sit and relax!

Waneta Lake CottageA peaceful cottage nestled amongst trees on beautiful Waneta Lake. The location was a good central point to enjoy the magic of the Finger Lakes. The cottage was everything we needed. It was well equipped and had plenty of indoor and out door seating. Kent is a wonderful, kind host and quickly answers all questions. We were too busy horseback riding, visiting wineries and getting massages to enjoy the kayaks that are provided. We will use them next time because we’ll be back!Mark & Sue

Just what we hoped for!

We had an amazing family getaway! Did some kayaking, jet skiing, and relaxing on the lake. The property sits on a beautiful quiet lake just 15 minutes from Keuka and Seneca lake for excursions. We wished we had more time!

Excellent getaway cottage

Renter was super nice and friendly provided tasty muffins and the little things, coffee,tea,juice, condiments. . Cottage was quaint with excellent use of space. Top notch cleanliness. Right on lake in a prime location minutes from top rated finger lake wineries. Perfect cottage for a getaway from reality. Thank you!

Sweet Offseason Getaway

We had a very simple check-in process made easy thanks to an informative email sent before arrival from the host. The property was immaculately clean on the inside and well stocked with kitchen essentials, coffee, and even muffins for the guests. The view of the lake was very nice from the balcony and other parts of the cottage. The area was better than expected given its close proximity to Keuka and Seneca Lakes and to some of the region's best wineries. Kent was a kind and respectful host which we appreciated. Thank you for a very nice property and an overall very enjoyable experience!

Perfect lake cottage

This is the perfect lake cottage for family of four. Everything you need in cottage and nothing you don’t. New, clean and modern. Fantastic view and sunsets. Kayak and fish right out the back door. Wonderful deck. Fantastic shower. A place to put everything, all the hooks are brilliant! While Waneta lake is small compared to its neighbors it is still huge. Lots of boats of all types. Even saw a seaplane land and take off. Good central location for activities on Kueka and Seneca lake. Would definitely rent here again.

Great location with an amazing view

We very much enjoyed our stay at this Waneta Lake cabin! ---- PROS – amazing lake view, furnishings all seemed very new, the queen bed was SUPER COMFY, convenient location for visits to wineries all around Keuka Lake & Seneca Lake & even some on Cayuga Lake, instant water heater, gas grill, well-equipped kitchen. ---- CONS – some pesky flies outside bothered us (but no one can control nature), close to the road (it’s really not a busy road but we were aware of cars when they went past – lights and sound), no washer/dryer, heat/AC units are located in the living room so you have to leave the bedroom doors open to feel the effects at night.

Great to be back!

This property does not disappoint! It's all that it was the first time we visited last year, and we plan to return again, hopefully for longer than 3 nights next time! Kent is a real pleasure and the property lacks for nothing. The location is perfect too! I hesitate to say more because I don't want it to be booked when we plan to return. It's a real jewel! Wonderful cottage!

My father and I visited the cottage for 3 nights and it was perfect. The cottage had everything you needed in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. and the setting was incredible. The porch overlooking the lake is comfortable, and the little beach area is a great feature, as is the swimming dock and kayaks (they are in great condition and easy to use). Easy access to great wineries and breweries. Wifi was strong. Kent, the owner, was available, friendly and easy-going. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on beautiful Lake Waneta!

Lake time with Sis

My sister and I had a wonderful stay at this Lakehouse. It was pristine and everything provided. Kent greeted us and was ready to help with any questions we had. The lake views from this house are gorgeous, yet just a short drive to Keuka or Seneca. We will be back!

Lovely Getaway

My girlfriends a day I stayed for a mom's weekend away. At first we were a little worried with the proximity to the other houses, but it ended up being so calm and quiet and just lovely! Kent greeted us when we arrived, made sure we had everything we needed, and wished us farewell when we were packing up to leave. The view was incredible, the access to kayaks was a huge bonus for us, and the cabin had absolutely everything we needed. We really enjoyed our time here!

Soul refreshing stay

This was the most amazing vacation cottage. Spotless clean with everything you need and more. The views are breathtaking. Spent every night on the deck or the dock. The kayaks were a huge plus and a lot of fun. Kent the owner was not only extremely helpful but a pleasure to talk to. He by far is the best host I have ever dealt with. We were there for the Nascar Race at the Glen, but our time at the cottage was just as grand as the race. Highly recommend booking this cottage.
