The only drawback to staying at this lovely cottage is the very narrow pot-holey access track to it
The only drawback to staying at this lovely cottage is the very narrow pot-holey access track to it after leaving the road. The cottage is spacious, well equipped and very comfy and the hosts very friendly. The town of Great Torrington has all the basics and we walked into it from the cottage. We were very happy to have Torridge as our base for exploring this part of Devon and had some lovely days out, in spite of the weather.

We really enjoyed our stay here, it was a great base, really quiet and peaceful.
We really enjoyed our stay here, it was a great base, really quiet and peaceful. We had my mum with us so the downstairs bedroom with ensuite wet room was perfect. Everything was immaculately clean and there was everything needed for it to be a home from home - cooker, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher. There were products like antibac spray, washing up liquid, a few dishwasher tabs, hand-wash under the sink, as well as teatowels, washing up sponge/cloth, kitchen roll, which is worth pointing out as I took these with me as I've been caught out before. They also provide plenty of towels for each guest. There were fresh eggs, milk and biscuits which was a lovely touch. The owners didn't bother you at all but were so friendly and would have a chat if they saw you. We were there Mon-Fri and visited Woolacombe, Westwood Ho! and on a particularly miserable day took out daughter to the Big Sheep theme park which she loved, all within a fairly short driving distance. There are plenty of pubs locally and takeaways, shops etc in Great Torridge, just a 5 minute drive away. We really loved it here and want to come back for longer so we can explore more of beautiful North Devon.
