About this property
Cotswold Holiday Accommodation in beautiful Northleach
Cranebrook Cottage is less than a two minute walk from the historic market square in Northleach, a small town in the centre of the Cotswolds. The cottage is in a quiet location, but with a variety of shops and places to eat nearby, plus lovely walks and wonderful places to visit in the beautiful Cotswolds.
The cottage is also under a two minute walk to Northleach park, with a children's play area, tennis courts, a large area of parkland with a riverside walk, plus footpaths into open countryside. With a lovely view over gardens towards the church, the cottage is ideal for both shorter or longer stays.
The cottage has three bedrooms, being two doubles and one single. One of the double rooms can be set up for a king size bed or two single beds. With comfortable beds, seasonal duvets and high quality bed linen and towels, plus a well equipped kitchen, this is a home from home.
The courtyard garden is very private, being set down from the house and accessed by steps. Please view our photos to check if this is suitable for any guests who may have mobility issues or for very young children.
The cottage has adjacent parking for one car. For additional cars, free parking is available on The Green or market square, which are within a one or two minute walk.
Please note that excessive electricity consumption due to the charging of electric cars will be taken from the retention/damage deposit. We consider £6 a day for household electricity usage to be reasonable. Over this amount will be charged for. We feel this is the fairest way, rather than simply increasing the nightly rate for everyone.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host
Hosted by Dawn Twigg
We bought Cranebrook Cottage in March 2022, so it is a new rental, with no reviews as yet. Although the house is our home in England, we do spend quite a lot of time in France. With family and friends already enjoying short stays at the house , we decided to make the cottage available for rent for some weeks of the year. We intend to make some alterations later in the year; making the kitchen/dining/sitting room areas into one, open plan space, plus putting an en-suite into the main bedroom. In the meantime, we thought others would enjoy our comfortable, three bedroom house in a wonderful location.
Why they chose this property
Northleach is perhaps one of the Cotswolds best kept secrets. A small but historic market town, it was the wool trade that brought wealth to the area. With it's attractive market square, variety of small shops and wonderful places to eat, plus pretty, traditional honey-stone cottages and later Georgian houses, Northleach is a wonderful place both to enjoy and to explore the wider area of the Cotswolds. Cranebrook Cottage is in a quiet location, yet only a two minute stroll past pretty cottages and the award winning butchers to the market square. A general store, bakery, hairdressers, post office, café, and wine bar surround the square, with a highly regarded pub, The Wheatsheaf, a little further up the High Street. (Very popular - book in advance!) The house sleeps five, plus travel cot. The second bedroom has a king sized bed that can separated into two 2'6" single beds if required. (Please advise regarding your preference at the time of booking.) The comfortable sitting room has wonderful views over gardens towards the church. The church of St Peter and St Paul is known as "the cathedral of the Cotswolds" for it's architectural splendour and detailing, reflecting the wealth the wool trade brought to Northleach. In short, Cranebrook Cottage offers comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, centrally located historic town in the heart of the Cotswolds.
What makes this property unique
Northleach is centrally located in the Cotswolds, giving visitors the chance to explore not only well known places such as Bourton-on-the-Water, the Slaughters, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Bibury, but also being an easy day trip to the famous university city of Oxford, or Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, for example. There are so many wonderful places to see within easy distances, yet Cranebrook Cottage also offers a relaxing home from home stay, with comfortable beds, a sitting room with a beautiful view towards the church and a pretty, private courtyard garden to enjoy on sunny days. Please be aware that access to the courtyard garden is via steps, either from the sides of the house or from the french doors in the sitting room. For those with mobility issues, the elderly or young children, we advise looking at the photographs of the steps into the garden to assess suitability.
With just a short stroll to the centre of Northleach for a coffee, glass of wine or a delicious meal, the cottage is ideal for both shorter or longer stays. Although the cottage is in the heart of Northleach, footpaths through open countryside are just a few minutes away, with lovely walks for dogs. Within Northleach park, less than a two minute stroll from the cottage, there is a children's play activity area, tennis courts, open parkland with a riverside walk and more footpaths leading through open countryside.
Less than a three night stay may be possible depending on other bookings. Please contact us to discuss further.
