Holly Cottage Ambleside

A beautiful cottage set in a private complex. The cottage contained everything you need and more. A lovely outside seating area where you can sit and relax to the sound of the nearby stream. Just a short walk from the center of Ambleside (all be it up quite a steep hill). I would highly recommend it for the walkers or for the ones that just want to relax.

We’ve had a wonderful few days at Holly Cottage and can’t wait to go back. The location is great, so near the centre of Ambleside, just a few minutes walk with wonderful views from upstairs and the sound of the waterfall. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of accommodation after reading some of the reviews but think recent improvements have been made, including a new front door. It was also in very good decorative order. Did not notice a damp smell. Plenty of cutlery, crockery, glasses baking trays and pans, all we needed and more. The bedrooms are very generous sizes, particularly the twin which the children loved. Also what is not clear on all the details is the fact there are 3 bathrooms, including 2 en suites so that really helps.Also lovely to have the little patio area as we were blessed with fabulous weather. Overall everything was great!
