This is a lovely apartment close to Ambleside town centre. However parking is tricky if all apartments are occupied, but we were lucky we have a 'free' space beside our allocated one, so we managed to park OK all week, tho it was hard to get in and out. Some problems with the apartment - a very bad smell in the bathroom, in the kitchen the toaster was defective and no grill pan as an alternative, and the porch/entrance conservatory leaked and flooded when it rained. However, the balcony and view are fabulous, the living room comfortable and bedrooms are good.

Lovely, well appointed property that was very clean. Amazing views from the balcony. Parking would have been awkward if all the flats were occupied. A fantastic stay, all in!

Great location right in Ambleside. However, no hand soap or other toiletries provided. Quite a few cobwebs in corners of the rooms and above the staircase. Whole apartment felt like it was slightly dusty and in need of a deep clean. Also when using the shower/bath this would cause water to spill into the mudroom. Overall needs improvement but did the job.

Excellent stay, beautifully appointed accommodation, everything needed was provided, very clean, warm and cosy. Loved the views and the fact that in warmer weather you could have the patio doors open and sit outside on the balcony, perfect. The only downsides was parking, if the other flats are occupied, fortunately they weren’t for us, but it would have been a real squash had they been and the steps down to town - very steep for less than agile fit people, but the walk round the road was more gentle and still quite a quick way to and from town.

Great flat

The flat is comfortable with wonderful west facing views. Very close to town centre. Good hikes in various directions from the flat. Lake is a 15 minute walk. Lovely holiday destination. Parking is tight so bring a small car (my Mercedes A class was the limit - smaller would be easier).

Excellent location in Ambleside

Ambleside is a really nice place to stay in the lake District, with good road links to everywhere as it is quite central. Additionally it is a vibrant town with plenty of options for places to eat, or just to relax with a drink. Lots of nice shops too, if you're not up in the clouds all day!! And Top Notch is in a really great location, just a very short walk (25m down some unlit steps) from the town. I will certainly be looking to come back here again. Accommodation was absolutely fine for me and my two adult lads - they were happy enough to share a room, and there was plenty of space for everyone.

It’s got a great view and good location—very short walk to the city. The parking is really a nightmare unless you have a very small car—they say the spaces can fit up to medium-sized cars, but this isn’t the case, especially if several of the spaces are occupied. (We were inside the lines and couldn’t get out of our car.)The place was clean on the inside but was lacking some basics all other VRBO places I’ve ever stayed at include, such as dishwashing soap for the sink. The outside areas were not clean—mold/dirt and spider webs all over the windows in the porch, and bird crap on the outside balcony windows and debris on the balcony floor.Their communication was a mixed bag. Very explicit and clear instructions for check in and manual inside the place. But we tried to contact them with a question about parking. No one picked up when we called during their supposed open hours. So we tried their chat option. Their bot said they’d be in touch. The next day we got a generic response that didn’t acknowledge our question at all, to which we replied, and did not hear back again until the next day, with a “Wanted to check that everything has been resolved” text. Eventually someone quoted part of the instructions back to us without ever asking what our question was. Not great communication at all—too slow, too unfocused, much more about presenting a facade of responsiveness than actual responses. On a positive note, the internet worked great. But would never stay here again.
