About this property

Badluarach Sea View - a cottage that sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms

Probably the best view over Little Loch Broom, whether it is sun or rain the changing colours of the waters ensure that you will have a memorable holiday at Badlaurach Seaview Cottage. The cottage offers simple croft cottage accommodation with it's tin roof, low doorways and steep stairs there is bags of character, along with the best fire in Badluarach!

The cottage is set on a working croft with peace and privacy ensured as it is set back from a quiet public road and is reached by a short stone track. The local area is often nicknamed the "great wilderness" and is perfect for outdoor activities with An Teallach rising up from the loch shore and other local Munros close by such as Beinn Dearg. The stunning Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve is not to be missed with the gorge having stunning view points of the thunderous 45m high Falls of Measach, this is one of several water falls as the gorge drops 100m over 1.25k. A Victorian suspension bridge over the gorge leads to walking trails to allow you to extend your exploration of this remarkable area.

Ullapool is a short drive with local facilities as is Dingwall which is a thriving Highland Market Town, well worth a visit to see the community owned and crowd funded distillery GlenWyvis Distillery which offers Gin, Whisky and the opportunity to own shares in the distillery.

A drive in the opposite direction takes you towards Poolewe with a fabulous white sandy beach at Mellon Udrigle which also has excellent photo opportunities of the surrounding spectacular Highland mountains. The near by Pool House is not to be missed with the chance to discover it's fascinating, quirky and characterful 300 years of rich history including its time as a courthouse in the 1700's; the setting for a marital battle that scandalised Victorian society; through to becoming a WW2 headquarters.

This is a really nice 'traditional' croft/cottage in an amazing location. Plus sides - location, value, enclosed garden (clean/safe area for food and letting our dog out away from sheep in the wider grounds area). The view is outstanding - we saw seals, dolphins, stags, buzzards and red kites from the cottage. The surrounding area is superb for hills, beaches, rock climbing etc. Ullapool is about 45 minutes away for shops and touristy stuff. Downsides - it is relatively remote so you will be driving to anything you want to do, the ceilings are low (my son is 6 foot and had to duck for downstairs doors and couldn't stand upright anywhere in the upstairs, the rest of us are 5 1/2 footers so were OK bar under eaves upstairs). We had very sporadic 4G mobile so you may struggle if you want to be online constantly. Kitchen is reasonably equipped for 4 so we cooked in most evenings and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Lovely remote location

Fantastic situation which suited us and our 2 dogs perfectly. You need to be organised with food due to the nearest shop being over 30 miles away but that being said we found some fantastic eateries on our road trips around the area. The negatives are that the ceiling are very low the stairs awkward and narrow and the condition is basic. Take chairs with you so that you can enjoy the sun trap garden. Luckily we had really good weather (last week in Apri)

We're pleased to hear that the remote location suited you and your dogs perfectly, and that you discovered some great local eateries during your travels. We hope to welcome you again sometime in the future.

Seaview is a traditional croft cottage that stands in the middle of a reed field by Little Loch Broom. The accommodation is rustic but has all that you will need, including a washer and dryer. There is one downstairs bedroom but otherwise access to the sleeping area is via a narrow twisting staircase which may not suit someone with mobility issues or young children.Like all traditional cottages, the windows squat low so the living room is a little dark and not much view. However, the fireplace adds a cheery, comforting air to the place and when you open the doors, the view from the enclosed garden is absolutely spectacular!Badluarach is located in an ideal position for visits north and south of Ullapool, as well as eastwards, so provides plenty of options for sightseeing. This is a popular but off the beaten track area, so if you are not looking for all modern comforts, seek peace, love beautiful sunsets and perhaps want the chance to take a little peek at some wondering deer outside your house, then this is the place for you!!!

Gastgeberin ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Haus entspricht der Beschreibung. Zu fünft herausfordernd, da es kein gemeinsamen Essbereich gibt. Ansonsten Landschaft, Wildness hervorragend
