The landing on the shaver's fork

Located on the banks of the Shaver's Fork River, The Landing is a platform for launching your outdoor adventure during any of our four majestic seasons, or just cozy up to our gas fireplace. The house is situated adjacent to the Monongahela National Forest, paved access to the front door, and minutes to Elkins for your convenience. There are countless activities and destinations within easy reach based on your interest.

The Landing is loaded with all the typical amenities. Additionally, the host has added a few more features to make your stay memorable. First, Guests can make reservations for on-site use of Kayaks, Tubes and Canoes. Also, Guests may select optional Flora and Woodland Trees Guides to be used for outdoor Scavenger Hunts. Next, Guest can relax with their choice of Aromatherapy oils diffusing indoors at your getaway! Finally, The Landing is loaded with many conveniences such as USB ports, WIFI inside and out, mood lighting inside and out and blue tooth speakers to add your favorite tunes.

The Landing has 420 feet of Private River Access. This is perfect for the fisherman or those thrill-seekers who want to float on the river in a tube, kayak or canoe. The expansive yard on both sides of the house have hammock locations got guests to enjoy the sounds of the river while relaxing. Cook on the back deck with the outdoor grill. Enjoy dinner along the river while watching Eagle, Kingfishers and waterfowl.

If interested in taking a stroll, check out the National Forest access just across the road. Less than 1 mile away, Guests can find Stuart Recreation Area and Stuart Memorial drive which leads travelers to Bickle's Knob Tower, Bear Heaven and Otter Creek Wilderness Area. If the Guest is looking for shopping, restaurants or a train ride, Downtown Elkins is five minutes away. The Train Depot offers a variety of packages.

The Landing is perfectly situated for our skiers. Canaan Valley and Timberline Resorts are 30 minutes away while Snowshoe Mountain is less than one hour. White grass cross country skiing is also available 30 minutes away. If you have your own equipment and weather cooperates, Guests can find incredible cross country on Shaver's Fork Road and Stuart Memorial Drive.

Additional outdoor trekking and hiking can be found in the numerous State Parks such as Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. Also, Guests who prefer a more rustic hike can visit Kumbrabow State Forest to enjoy numerous trails and fishing for native Brooke Trout.

If you like to bike, this is a great place! There are numerous paved miles and exceptional unpaved scenic trip along the Shaver's Fork River that can be quickly caught from The Landing.
