River’s Edge Cabin- Perfect for Romance/Outdoor Adventures/Relaxation

This charming original chink log cabin, “River’s Edge” built in 1910, sits on almost an acre of riverfront property. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, laundry room, large master bedroom, 2 fireplaces, free WiFi, modern TVs, DVD’s with DVD library. Sleeps 6. The large screened in front porch is superb for dining or reading a book. The property has a large deck overlooking the river, a spacious fire pit area, gas and charcoal grills, and a 6 person hot tub. Look us up on FB to find out about the many year round activities: fishing, tubing, golfing, skiing, snowboarding, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, mountain biking and spelunking. The local restaurants, bars, and live music will provide your stay with excellent entertainment and great local cuisine. The only pets we allow are dogs that are house trained.

This quaint cabin right on Shavers Fork was a dream stay for our little family! My son, who recently started fly fishing, had the time of his life catching a variety of fish over our long weekend stay. We enjoyed family meals in the well stocked kitchen and on the charcoal grill (thanks for providing all the extras for grilling). Thank you again for sharing this beautiful, historical cabin with us!

Clean, comfortable, cozy cabin. Everything you need for a peaceful stay. Being able to go in the river was a great bonus. The kitchen is well stocked. I am already planning our next visit.

Views were amazing, plenty of firewood for a nightly fire, hot tub was very relaxing. Kitchen is well equipped. Sheets were clean, lots of entertainment with games, DVDs, WiFi. Host called to check on us as there was a lot of rain and the potential for flooding. Cabin is very rustic and cute but some of the doors (bathroom) do not close and it’s damp and musty. Could have been the weather tho. All in all it was a good stay.

Easy, that’s the first word that comes to mind. The hospitality of the host, the overall comfort and well supplied cabin, the ideal location, several fishing spots on the property. Couldn’t ask for a better get away for our family. So quiet and peaceful in the evenings and at night. Cabin has so much character while also having access to modern amenities makes your stay….Easy.

The first thing we saw when we arrived at Rivers Edge Cabin was the HUGE hole in the screen on the "screened in porch." The second thing we noticed is the general run down condition. The furniture is old, recliner doesn't recline and the pillows had an odor. The third thing we noticed was the overall odor and darkness. The fourth thing I noticed was the low toilet. I couldn't get up and down by myself. I had to put a kitchen chair to hold onto in the bathroom so I could use the bathroom. The fifth thing was the deck was in much need of paint and the deck furniture needed to be cleaned. The sixth thing was the fact that I had to wash the pots, pans and silverware before I could use them to cook dinner.We stayed 1 night and left by 10:30 in the morning. Our stay was for 5 nights.

This guest did not communicate any issues at all during their stay. They wanted a full refund after they left without communicating with me. Our previous reviews speak for themselves! I’ve never had a guest complain about the cleanliness of our property. Our housekeeper is amazing and has been with us for 14 years. The only valid complaint is a small hole in the screen, which will be fixed after the fall season. The lights have dimmers and they could have turned the lights up. I believe this guest wasn’t happy with the weather and wanted to go home early with a full refund.

If you're looking for a fancy, luxurious cabin, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for an authentic cabin with character, this is it! We loved our stay there! A realistic cabin stay with modern amenities, huge master bedroom, 2 fireplaces, complimentary firewood, deck overlooking the river, clean and functioning hot tub, and an owner that quickly responds. It has it's flaws...uneven, creaky floors, doors that don't quite fit right...but it was perfect for us! And the sound of the rain on the metal roof was great! We loved it! Beware, the little wooden bridge is slippery when wet... don't ask how we know! Lol

This property was described exactly as it is. And it was amazing. Communication with the owner was top notch. I couldn't be happier with the cabin and its properties. I wish I would have caught more fish.But that's my fault, not the properties. I will definitely be staying there again.

We had such a peaceful and memorable stay at this rustic log cabin by the river. The setting is absolutely beautiful — quiet, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. Waking up to the sound of the water and spending slow mornings surrounded by nature was exactly what we needed.The cabin itself has a cozy, charming feel that really complements the natural surroundings. It feels like a true escape from the busyness of everyday life.We truly enjoyed our time here and are already looking forward to coming back again in the future.

We stayed during Christmas week and found the cabin very easy to get to. The power in the area went out during our stay, and the host was quick to respond, which we appreciated. The cabin was clean and very comfortable for two people. The kitchen and bathroom were very nice and well maintained. The upstairs area was a bit uncomfortable for our teenage kids due to the creaky floors and the age of the house, so we all ended up staying in the master bedroom. Overall, I would recommend this cabin for a couple rather than a family.
