About this property

The Riverside House - Your North Boulder Vacation Retreat

This beautiful home sits on a spacious, landscaped corner lot in North Boulder. Enjoy your morning tea or coffee sitting on the front porch with comfortable wicker chairs, nestled under a canopy of trees, listening to the deep, gentle tones of the nearby chimes. This home welcomes you with a cozy living room, complete with a gas fireplace and piano. Advance to the dining room that features a round oriental wooden carved dining table (with large inlaid lazy susan) and on into the kitchen with its generous stone countertops. Upstairs offers two comfortable bedrooms, each with a large chest of drawers and closet. The modern bathroom is complete with a deep soaking tub, waterfall faucet, and shower. This lovely home possesses a simple but modern Asian ambiance. The kitchen and dining room are defined by sliding glass doors to the south, inviting you to wander out onto a large deck with a lounge chair, outside table (with umbrella), and a big, stainless cooking grill. This deck, plus another bedroom porch above, enjoy a view of nature seldom experienced in a residential neighborhood, complete with a backyard stream. This stream is a welcome sound as you drift off to sleep. You will appreciate being within a two block walking distance to Lucky's Grocery Store, Logan's Coffee Shop, Lucky's Bakery, Chinese and Italian restaurants, Lucky's Breakfast Cafe, and more, and a few minute drive to more shops and restaurants to the north. The Riverside House has easy access to great public transportation for a quick ride (10 minutes) to downtown Boulder, the famous Pearl Street Mall, and just minutes further to the University of Colorado. A half block west of the house you emerge from a short pedestrian tunnel to an uninterrupted view of meadow and mountains leading to a mile walk or bike ride around Wonderland Lake. Learn to paraglide or cross country ski at the nearby park? Back at the house, you will appreciate the clean, uncluttered feel of the living areas, the well-organized kitchen, (yes, the spices are alphabetized) and the elegant energy that surrounds you. You will be more than at home, more than at ease, and more than comfortable at The Riverside House. Come, stay, at home.

About the host

Hosted by Merrin Wilding (Stein)

Host profile image
I have lived in Boulder, Colorado since 1976, escaping Southern California at the tender age of 20, and discovering the strength and healing nature of this area. I have loved this house since 1990. It has seen many years and chapters of my life. My husband and I are anticipating wonderful travels in our Airstream, and want to share The Riverside House with you while we are on our own adventures.

Why they chose this property

This house felt like "home" the moment I pulled up into the driveway to consider it for purchase in 1990. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, complete with kind neighbors, and has views of a gorgeous, private park with a gentle stream running through it. The feeling of spaciousness and nature grace this home, inside and out.

What makes this property unique

Nestled in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, The Riverside House enjoys both a sense of natural spaciousness and a proximity to fabulous conveniences. Your eyes rest on the views of trees, park, and open space as you dine or sit at the kitchen counter. Only a half block to the west, you will walk under a tunnel and emerge with a well-deserved sigh as you take in uninterrupted views of meadow and mountain. The gentle trail embraces Wonderland Lake and you have opportunity to wander beyond (if you want to make a more ambitious hike of your morning stroll). A short, 5-minute walk south finds all the desired conveniences of grocery, coffee shop, bakery house, dry cleaners, breakfast cafe, liquor store, Chinese, Italian, Mexican restaurants, and more. In addition, the Riverside House is only a block and a half from the convenient bus stop that will carry you to the heart of downtown Boulder (and the Pearl Street Mall) in 10 minutes, or north to Lyons if you wish. This is an ideal location on so many levels, and if you never leave the house, you will find yourself surrounded in comfort and convenience as well.
