Such a wonderful place

We have been to Hillcot farm three times now. It is an amazing location, beautiful countryside and on a working farm. We have enjoyed getting to know the farmers over the years. They are very attentive to our needs, quickly sorting out any issues. The whole family (and our dog) love the place which has space and calm and incredible scenery. We will definitely book again.

Wonderful place

Wonderful place! The house has everything that we wanted, and the location was perfect — secluded with access to excellent walks (including Cotswold Way) and food shopping. The kitchen is well-stocked, beds are comfortable, the views are spectacular and the surrounding garden is sublime. Sheila and Nigel were lovely hosts. We would stay there again.

Hilcot Farmhouse was an excellent property - we stayed 2 nights here for our tour of Cotswolds. We chose Shiela's property for its exclusivity and farm feel. The property was as advertised - well appointed, spacious and charming. The views from the property was awesome and the outdoor garden areas were beautiful. Sheila was an excellent host, with clear, regular and accurate information about the route and property. She gave us a warm welcome in person and had baked an excellent cake (nice, surprise, warm touch!). We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at the property and would highly recommend for a quiet, charming stay for exploring Cotswolds.

A Countryside Escape

We had such a wonderful stay, thank you for being such warm and thoughtful hosts. The accommodation was cosy and comfortable, and the surroundings were beautiful. The delicious baked cake waiting for us on arrival was such a lovely and welcoming touch. The highlight for our family was visiting the barn, my daughter absolutely loved seeing the horses and cows and hasn’t stopped talking about it! We really appreciated your kindness and hospitality, which made our trip extra special. We hope to visit again someday.

A beautiful cottage

We loved staying at Hilcot. The views were beautiful and there are great walks from the farm which we enjoyed. The kitchen had everything I needed, I could even cook a roast dinner. There was lots of space in the house and all the rooms were spacious and cosy. The house was really close to popular tourist areas but could still enjoy the peaceful setting of the house. We arrived to a delicious homemade cake which went down a treat. The hosts were very friendly and helpful!

Stunning views/great location

Castle Barn (Hilcot Farm) provided a great base from which to visit surrounding areas and was itself a lovely place to spend time enjoying the beautiful views. Sheila was a fantastic and attentive host.Right down to the delicious freshly baked cake awaiting us on arrival! The amenities had everything we needed and it was great having the two full bathrooms (aswell as downstairs toilet) as we were two families holidaying together. The outside patio/bbq area was great to sit out in and enjoy the peace. We highly recommend and hope to visit again. Thank you Sheila and family!

Wonderful hosts and a very comfortable stay

I want to thank Nigel and Sheila for their kind hospitality during our stay of several weeks. Welcomed with a homemade Victoria sponge cake, we quickly felt at home at Hilcot Farmhouse. As a family of four with two kids and also two dogs, the property offered us the space and comfort we needed. Well equipped with everything you might need, it very much felt a home away from home. There are walks on your doorstep but only a short drive from local pubs and also Cheltenham. For a Cotswolds Holiday Cottage it offers good value for money especially if you book directly with Bolthole Retreats. Happy to recommend.

Fantastic place!! Just what we needed.

We absolutely loved our weekend away at this property it was in a beautiful location, rural yet only a 20 minute car ride Into Cheltenham. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and the fridge had fresh farm eggs in as well as milk and butter. We bumped into Nigel the owner whilst we were out enjoying a lovey morning walk and we were lucky enough to say hello to his cows which we all loved!! We will Definitely be returning!!

Amazing Holiday

The place was immaculately clean, cozy, warm with great surrounding. We were greeted by a lovely home baked cake which was delicious! The house was fully eqiped with everything you'd need from eggs, to milk, butter, cooking oil etc etc. The place was nice and quite, perfect sized rooms with enough baths amd amazing views from the bedrooms. Would i come back? 1000% Yeah! Thank you for hosting is S!

Beautiful house, it had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable. I liked the house had the extra room to take your shoes off so you didn’t put mud or wet shoes through the house. The owner made a cake for our arrival which was lovely and a very nice surprise. The only downside was the road to the property which had multiple pot holes and as a long drive way to the property there was a lot. Some were very deep and couldn’t avoid them. We had a 4x4 so didn’t matter too much, however a smaller car may have trouble getting down there and bottoming out. I would stay here again and would recommend. We visited the Holland and cooper shop which was a 12 minute drive, and visited the Farmers dog pub which was about 30 minutes away.
