Comfortable and spacious accommodation, met our needs as a base from which to explore the north and west Norfolk coasts. Nice house. Lovely sunsets across the road from the living room window.
We were really looking forward to a couple of relaxing days in Norfolk after completing a 26‑mile charity walk, but the property was nowhere near an acceptable standard. The moment we walked in, there was a strong stale smell throughout the house, even worse upstairs in the bedrooms. The bedding smelled unpleasant and clearly wasn’t fresh — none of us felt comfortable sleeping on it.The place was also dirty. There were cobwebs inside cupboards, and the main sofa was stained and unclean. Overall, the property felt neglected and unpleasant. We paid for two nights but left after only a few hours because the conditions made it impossible to stay. This was extremely disappointing and easily the worst experience we have ever experienced.

Hi Michael
Thank you for the review. You raised no issue with us nor VRBO during check in nor during your stay and now 3 weeks later you are claiming the cottage had a funny smell and you had to leave within a few hours . I would have expected that if it “was the worst experience you have ever experienced“ then normally you would have contacted us immediately rather than apparently leaving within a few hours and then leaving a negative review 3 weeks later. We are booked virtually back to back throughout the year with constant cleaning and fresh linen and have never received a complaint about a smell nor that the cottage was not clean. In future if you experience an issue upon arrival/ during your stay then would suggest you raise it with the owner immediately or VRBO who have complaint policies in place so it can be addressed immediately and not wait weeks and then leave negative reviews which I assume is an attempt to claim a refund.
