The Caravan Cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. The view from the back deck and back screened in porch (which came in handy when it rained!) is heavenly! It is located about 20 minutes from West Jefferson which is a very quaint mountain town. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting this part of North Carolina.

Another spectacular stay

This place is hard to leave. We went up to help with recovery work and didn't get nearly enough time at this special place. Every thoughtful detail, the serenity of the location, the views, the spirit of this cabin is unparalleled. We love this gem and the sweet owners who are so easy to work with. This was our second stay and we are already planning our return. Thank you for sharing your precious spot with us again!

Great Cabin

The Caravan Cabin was great and worked perfectly for our 2 families (4 Adults, 4 children). Well stocked with all your needs, Kitchen dishes, pots, pans , utensils. Plenty of towels and wash cloths and we never ran out of hot water after 6 showers back to back. WOW! Rachel was very helpful and quick to respond to any of our questions.

Cozy Seclusion

This property was amazing! We enjoyed the cozy mountain decor, the views, and the ability to unwind. We had two college aged kids with us and with App. State close by for the football game, it was perfect. Easy day-trips, well maintained private roads, and good parking not on an incline was appreciated. Great selection of supplies, easy directions for home features and a quality coffee maker=success! First VRBO experience and we are already planning our next!

Peaceful and Secluded

Everything was just as described. Kitchen stocked very well. Wonderful view of Grandfather Mtn. Owner was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Nice deck to relax on and enjoy nature. We also enjoyed the big fire pit. We were fortunate enough to see deer right out the front door. Wonderful place we give it 5 stars. We will be back.

6/10 Okay

Beautiful home and location.

We really enjoyed our stay here with our 5 littles. Ample space and everything you need to relax and enjoy family time. There is a somewhat steep walk up to the front door that was challenging to impossible for the really little ones to do unassisted. The road up to the house is fairly steep and could present some challenges if there were to be much snow and you do not have a 4 wheel drive. Overall a lovely place.

We apologize it was hard for some of the very little children to walk the pathway. We do have another driveway directly in front you could unload/load but we usually don't mention that because it's also part of a neighborhood easement/walkway and they discourage us from parking there (and worry people will end up parking there regularly). We didn't think to mention this because our 2 young children have not ever had any issues walking up and down the pathway, but we will make note to inform guests they may unload there for convenience. As for the neighborhood roads, cars will not have any issues driving up and down the roads in the neighborhood (if they are without snow/ice). We have had guests with cars like Toyota Prius, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, etc that have not had any issues getting to the cabin. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is NOT needed if the roads are clear. As for snow, we have a wonderful HOA that takes care of plowing the roads if it snows and are very prompt and thorough with doing this. However, a 4WD is always recommended and sometimes required (as noted on the listing) in the winter months with there always being a chance of snow/ice on the roads both here and around the area. Thank you for your feedback!

Excellent winter stay in NC!

This property was an excellent place to stay. It is conveniently located 20 minutes from Boone - a great location to stay while visiting many neat places within 1 hour of travel. The biggest plus was the fact that the cabin was kept very clean. My wife and one of my children are somewhat allergic to dust - we had no problems staying here at all. Access to a washer and dryer was extremely convenient. It was a great place to stay - we enjoyed it every much and the view was amazing. Any questions I had were immediately answered by the host via text. Thanks!

Peace & Tranquility!

Great location! Feels like you are a hundred miles from civilization, yet just a 15 minute drive to a Starbucks! Everything that you need is here - well-stocked kitchen, WiFi works great, comfortable beds, and a great view form the deck. The fireplace wasn't working during my stay, but it wasn't that cold yet...so I can't wait to come back when there's snow on the ground! The hosts are super responsive and there to answer any question. Hope to be back soon.

Wonderful home and stay

What a wonderful weekend we had at this property! I took my 2 daughters and 4 of their friends for an 18th birthday weekend and this was a wonderful space for all of us. As other reviewers have said, the photos don't do it justice - the home is so warm and cozy and the view and natural light is wonderful. We had no issues with accessing the neighborhood and the weather cooperated nicely. I had stayed in another VRBO property last month, which was wonderful, but didn't have this same woodsy setting which I love when I stay in the mountains. I know there have been comments about the pathway from the flat driveway to the front porch and while that might be difficult for someone who struggles with movement, we didn't find it to be an issue, even unloading luggage, cooler etc. I highly recommend this property and would love to stay again!

Short trip 2021

Don’t rent this place if you want a fireplace. Only worked on the first night and didn’t work after that. Called owner 2 different times and was told to keep trying it they have problems with it. They did nothing to fix the problem. Will not rent from them again.

We apologize the fireplace went out. We sent you a few messages to try to help troubleshoot remotely but we unfortunately were unable to get someone out there in time with limitations from Covid and it being a quick turn around time before your departure. The company came out as soon as they could, discovered a piece needed to be ordered (just an old part that wears out over time), and the part has now been placed/repaired. They also apologized that their schedule is a little backed up and that they had to get the part in before repairing. Again we apologize this happened during your visit and for this inconvenience and hope the rest of your stay was great!

Perfect cabin in the woods!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. From the moment we booked, Rachel was available and responded to every question we had, including a last minute suggestion for a grocery store location! The cabin was well stocked, extremely clean and absolutely beautiful. We toured Grandfather Mountain , which was about an hour away and visited Tweetsie Railroad, which was only a 30 minute drive. Highly recommend this gorgeous, spacious home for your next family trip! We will definitely be back next year! Thank you Ide Family for your hospitality!

Fall Getaway

We came as our family tradition that started last year of getting away of Florida for fall. We really loved the cabin , it had everything we needed , very cozy and family oriented. My girls didn’t want to leave . I found it a little bit tucked in the woods but we made the best of it . There wasn’t much to do around aside from the alpine coasters and mountains view, me and my fiancé went out one night just us 2 for drinks and couple time . We like the boonshine brewery. The cabin is lovely though . Thanks 😊

Perfect Stay!!

Needed a nice scenic location for a ladies getaway with easy access for our elderly mother who has some mobility issues. Although entry was on a slight incline with a few steps , she had no issues. The walk-in shower in the first floor bath and bedroom were also perfect for her. The entire house was absolutely spotless, very spacious and nicely appointed throughout. Kitchen is well stocked and the beds were really comfy. Check in was a breeze and the owners were very accommodating when we had to change dates due to a death in the family. Location was great for visiting the area. Such a lovely cabin.. and the outside deck and view is an added bonus. I would not hesitate in booking the Caravan Cabin again in the future. It really was the perfect stay!

Surprise winter weather

Everything at the cabin was just as described and an attentive owner who responding to my questions quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin, waking up to a small herd of deer on the first morning was a pleasant surprise. Thank goodness we brought our coats because we HAD to get out and explore the area, small towns and mountain scenes with all the beautiful colors and flying leaves. Convenient location to all the parks we planned to visit, comfortable beds to come back to.....we do hope to come back one day!
