Welcome to our sunny Vineyard retreat! Nestled on a quiet half-acre lot just two blocks from Grove Street Beach and bordering the West Chop Woods, our property offers the best of both worlds — close to town, yet peaceful and secluded.
The house is a bright, newly expanded 4-bedroom home perfect for families or groups of friends. With a high-ceilinged kitchen and den, house-length screened-in porch, two newly renovated upstairs bedrooms, and two cozy downstairs bedrooms, there’s plenty of space to gather — or spread out and relax. Multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas, tons of natural light, and a large backyard make this an ideal place to unwind and enjoy summer on the Vineyard.
Highlights of the House:
- Bright, airy kitchen with marble countertops, stainless appliances, and island seating for 5
- Spacious screened-in porch with ample seating and a second dining table
- Four comfortable bedrooms:
- Upstairs: King bedroom + Queen bedroom with twin futon
- Downstairs: King bedroom + Twin bedroom (with washer/dryer)
- Two full bathrooms
- Large backyard for games and entertaining
- Detached outdoor shower — a Vineyard essential!
- TVs in the living room and three of the bedrooms
- Cable, Wifi, beach chairs, and kids' beach toys included
What We Love:
- 15-minute walk to town, ferry, and shops — yet tucked away from the summer bustle
- The light-filled home is perfect for socializing or relaxing solo
- Mature trees, blooming garden beds, and a peaceful porch for morning coffee
- Proximity to nature: walk to Grove Street Beach, hike the West Chop Woods, or stroll to the West Chop Lighthouse
On-property parking for 3 cars.
Please note: The owners live in an adjacent but detached guesthouse during the summer.

About the host
Hosted by Liz McCartney

We truly love our Vineyard home and hope you will too. Over the years, we've created countless memories here as a family. When we travel, we seek peace, comfort, and natural beauty, and this home never fails to deliver. The quiet neighborhood, thoughtful layout, and surrounding trees help us reset the moment we walk in the door. Our shoulders drop, our breath deepens, and a sense of calm settles in.
We now split our time between Martha’s Vineyard and Puerto Rico, and while both places hold a special place in our hearts, the Vineyard is where we feel most grounded. It’s our happy place — and we’re so glad to share it with others who are looking for that same sense of ease, joy, and connection.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this part of West Chop because it’s the perfect mix of peaceful and connected. Tucked just beside the West Chop Woods, the nights here are quiet, starry, and serene — ideal for unwinding after a day at the beach or exploring town. And some of our favorite Vineyard spots are just a mile or less away: ice cream for Jack, the beach for Liz, and golf for Zack.
We love that we can walk to town, the ferry, or Grove Street Beach in minutes, yet come home to a space that feels private and calm. Whether you're here to explore, relax, or reconnect, we hope you’ll make your own special Vineyard memories — and discover your favorite spots, just like we did.

What makes this property unique
Our home offers something rare on Martha’s Vineyard — a sense of peaceful seclusion and easy access to town, beaches, and the ferry. Set on a quiet, tree-lined half-acre in West Chop, it feels like your own private retreat, yet the West Chop Woods, West Chop Loop, Grove Street Beach and town are all a short walk away.
The house itself is designed for connection and comfort — from the spacious screened-in porch and open kitchen to the sunlit living spaces and backyard perfect for games or gatherings. Whether you're traveling as a family or with friends, the layout allows everyone to be together or find their own cozy corner to unwind.
It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and feel completely at home — something we’ve felt every time we walk through the door.
