About this property

Amazing Cabin by a Stream- Private Creekside Cozy Log Cabin with Hot Tub & Wifi

Escape to this charming rustic-luxury log cabin situated beside a cascading creek in the peaceful woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Note: Please see our pet policy and pet fee below before booking. Please also note below about driving through the creek.

If you are looking to get away from it all, then Cozy Creek Cabin is the secluded mountain retreat you have been searching for. This custom built log cabin is located off the beaten path, yet centrally located in the mountains of Wilkes County with an approximate 30 minute drive to West Jefferson or Wilkesboro, and an approximate 40 minute drive to Boone. With a less than 15 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, this location is ideal if you would like your own personal mountain creekside hideaway far removed from the hustle and bustle. We are approx. 5 miles to both Wonderlust Acres and Sky Retreat!

As you arrive and step out of your vehicle, the first thing you hear is the rushing sound of the bold creek that surrounds the property.

As you enter the great room, you will find sawmill pine floors, leather furnishings, and a wood-burning stove fireplace. Firewood is provided!

But you won’t have to be completely disconnected, unless you want to. The cabin has 1 GIG Fiber WIFI for all your streaming or business needs and a 60” Smart TV with access to all of your streaming accounts.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, farmhouse sink and solid wood cabinetry. It is stocked with essentials like dishes, cutlery, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, blender, slow cooker, drip coffee maker and a Keurig. There is a full washer and dryer in the mud room.

The main level primary bedroom features a king bed, its own flat screen smart TV, and French doors that lead out to the deck, where you will find a high quality Hot Spring hot tub, perfect for romantic nights. The adjacent bath features a custom cedar barn door, tile flooring, an antique claw foot tub, separate glass shower and a custom vessel sink vanity made from a large cedar tree.

The second bedroom is located upstairs and features a very comfy queen bed. A full bath is also located upstairs. The leather sofa in the living area of the first floor is a queen size sleeper sofa.

The best features of Cozy Creek Cabin greet you as you step outside. Sit on the covered porch in the oversize rocking chairs, or catch some rays on the sun deck, or play a game of cornhole. Bring your smores and chill out at the fire pit located just steps away from the soothing view and sounds of the bubbling creek.

Cozy Creek Cabin was built in an idyllic mountain wilderness setting to provide peace and tranquility and an escape from the stresses of everyday life. We invite you to relax and unwind at Cozy Creek Cabin.

*Please note that our cabin is in a very remote location. There is a place where you drive through the creek in your vehicle just before you reach the cabin. It does not require a 4 wheel drive vehicle, as it is very shallow at the crossing point, but vehicles with a higher ground clearance are recommended, such as a small, mid or full size SUV or truck. There is no cell phone reception at the cabin, however you can use your cell phone on our WIFI connection by enabling WIFI calling in your phone's settings. There is also a house phone for guests to use at no charge.

Pet Policy: We accept pets at Cozy Creek for an additional fee. There is a 2 dog limit and no dogs under 1 year of age are allowed. We require that you crate your pet if you will be leaving them at the cabin unattended. The pet fee is $70 per stay and is non-refundable.

WINTER WARNING:
The North Carolina mountains are prone to snow and icy conditions during the winter months. The cabin is located on a gravel road. A 4-wheel drive vehicle will be required if there is snow during your stay. We have driven from the cabin in 6 inches of snow in a 4 wheel drive truck with no issues.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Our week at the Cozy Cabin was more than we dreamed it would be - this private and secluded location was built from the ground-up for comfort and leisure. The cabin is appointed with everything a traveler could need or want - from super comfy bedding to a well stocked kitchen and and new full-sized washer and dryer. Being situated at the top of a mountain afforded us with the most gorgeous October leaf “peeping” with a walkable trail of about 3/4 mile further up the slope. The most memorable features of the location were the lovely stream flowing right next to the site [just open the window or step out onto the wrap-around porch to hear the water music!] and the view of hundreds of stars from the hot tub located right off of the main bedroom.Perfect 10 - thank you to our lovely hosts.

Perfect seclusion!

This cabin was perfect for a quick getaway for me, my husband, and our lab. It’s only about 5 miles off the parkway but you’d never know. We set up a travel hammock down by the creek and it was our favorite place to be. I’m pretty sure we’ll be back in the future with our kids.

A little slice of heaven

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful cabin! The kids & dogs loved playing in the creek. Morning coffee on the porch listening to the creek was a definite favorite! Beautiful cabin & property, owners were very attentive, kind and quick to answer any questions. We made the trip to see the local waterfall which was worth the trip into town. We will definitely visit again!

Wow! What a beautiful property. Very clean! We enjoyed listening to the creek every night. We were in town for the All Stat Race in Wilkesboro, it was a little bit of a drive, but it was WORTH IT! The drive is beautiful and wildlife is abundant. We hope to be back soon.

My family enjoyed the cabin and property. We had too much fun on our drives to and from the cabin with all the dirt/gravel roads. Having a creek out front of the property was gorgeous. Amazing memories were made with our 6 yod and our 2 German Shepherds. Everyone felt at home. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us all.

Mountain Getaway

Of all the Mountain Cabins we've stayed, this one (hands down) was the very best of all. Not only was the cabin gorgeous inside & out, the parcel of land it was built on is Absolutely Amazing. The owners Bobby & Mitzy are most awesome host, check-in was very simple, & the cabin was immaculate upon arrival. If you in fact are checking these reviews for a place to stay, look no further, this is it!!! You can thank me later!!! LOL

Peaceful mountain paradise

The cozy creek cabin was a great escape from city life. The sound of the rushing creek, sitting by the fire pit and the sounds of nature all around were so peaceful. This cabin was so cozy and had it all. Our daughter loved the game table and the other board games and puzzles provided. It was so nice sitting by the fireplace inside during the colder weather. The owners Mitzi and Bobby thought of everything when building this mountain paradise and were so accommodating and helpful whenever we had a question about the property or town. We had a wonderful stay celebrating my husband’s birthday and enjoying the peaceful mountains!

Very cozy, comfortable and family-friendly

Beautiful and cozy little log cabin, perfect for our family of 5 and dog! Made it fine over the creek with our 2wd minivan, and found the ride up to the cabin to be like an adventure for our kids aged 7-11 (it’s about 30 mins to town). The beds were surprisingly comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with appliances, and we loved the Christmas tree in the evenings. Also really enjoyed the hot tub and sitting in front of the fire place on cold nights after enjoying winter sports! (Appalachian Ski Resort and Hawksnest Snow tubing each about an hour away. Beech mountain has a free sledding hill too which our Florida-born kids LOVED). The owner of this home was very sweet and a great communicator, also very easy to get in touch with when needed. Home was very clean as well! Kids loved exploring the property, throwing rocks in the creek, and playing Pac-Man on the loft. Plenty to do, and great place to relax and warm-up after a day of activity! Five stars!! Amazing stay!!

Beautiful remote location

Cabin & property were delightful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, playing games and listening to the stream. Only problem is the driveway right hand side is pretty washed out, so our car got damaged. We did drive a sedan and the stream wasn't bad, but coming down out of the driveway at such a steep angle and turning right, there's a severe dip that any vehicle would have trouble with. Also, the gravel roads are rudded out in places so underlying large stones are showing, so the travel time to the grocery store and surrounding towns is longer than stated.

The perfect secluded cabin!

I can’t emphasize enough how perfect this cabin was and exactly what we were looking for! The cabin itself was exceptional but the piece of land it was built on makes for the perfect setting. The creek/stream right beside the cabin is amazing! Build you a fire in the fire pit right above the creek to sit back and relax. The small creek or stream you had to drive through right before the driveway was passable with my Chevrolet Impala but I wouldn’t try it in a smaller vehicle because you may scrape the creek bed. Get your groceries on the way in because it is 30 minutes from a store in either direction. But North Wilkesboro, West Jefferson and Boone are all within 30-45 minutes away. The host was very helpful with any questions or things that we should know. We will be revisiting this cabin in the future! 10/10

I wish I would have booked a longer stay

My family of 5 had the fortune of staying in this cabin for 4 nights. I was delighted by it's warm and thoughtful decor that really set the mood for a mountain vacation. The creek is picturesque and added to the overall serene feeling of the property. The cabin had plenty of linens and pillows. There were lots of special touches that added to our pleasure. I felt I was staying at a friend's home and not a stranger's rental. The kitchen was well appointed so we easily prepared several meals at the cabin. The location is a little remote but that's what we wanted. The roads around the area are well maintained and easily traversed in our 2 wheel drive SUV. Driving through the hard bottomed Creek was exciting! We were provided plenty of firewood. One of the best parts of our time was our wonderful hostess, Mitzi. I found her to be incredibly helpful and responsive to any questions I had. I might have waited 5 minutes at most when I had a late night wildlife question. She consistently went above and beyond to accommodate us. I would gladly recommend this cabin to anyone.

Welcome to our property! We are the Watts family from Thomasville, NC. We enjoy building and design projects, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

I have always had a dream of having a log cabin tucked away in the mountains. I even painted a log cabin hideaway when I was 10 years old, and it sits in our cabin today. When Bobby caught the dream as well, we started searching for land so that we could build what we wanted. We looked first in the Asheville area, but decided that would be too long of a drive for weekend getaways. Then we found the listing for the wooded lot with a stream in the "community" of Hidden Cove in Purlear. When we first walked onto the property, we fell in love with it instantly. We still looked at a few others, but we could not get the beautiful sloping land surrounded by a rushing creek out of our minds. So we bought it, and soon thereafter purchased a log cabin kit. It was hard work, but after a few years, we finally had our dream come true. We find much peace and tranquility here, and we are happy and excited to share that gift with like-minded people who are looking for a respite deep in the woods, where a river, or large creek in our case, runs through it. Come listen to the sounds of the cascading creek and see why we fell in love with this property, and we promise you will want to come back for more.

What makes this property unique

Cozy Creek Cabin was built with blood, sweat, tears and a whole lotta love. Bobby did much of the work himself. We hired a contractor that specializes in log homes to stack the logs and do the framing, but Bobby, a former contractor himself, drove to the cabin site almost every weekend for a solid year to lay the foundation, build the large fireplace and chimney, finish the interior and do the stonework. We found the antique claw foot tub in a 1900 house in Greensboro that was being refurbished. We had a large cedar tree at our former home in Thomasville that was damaged from an ice store, so it became the sink pedestal in the master bath, as well as the cedar branches that adorn the banister and balcony of the custom cedar staircase that Bobby built. You can still see the sawmill marks in the pine flooring that Bobby laid in the living room, which Bobby's dad hand-sawed himself at his own sawmill. A special memorial to Bobby's dad, who left us for heaven all too soon. Come see all of the personal touches that adorn Cozy Creek Cabin, from the handmade raw edge dining table, to the rustic bear and woodland decor, to the enchanting string lights at night, you will feel peaceful and cozy at Cozy Creek Cabin.
