If you came to Iceland to get away from it all, Eyrarbakki has the perfect balance. Our property is located in a small village on the seaside, close to Reykjavík and the Golden Circle, but a world away.
In the property are 16 guest apartments: 8 Deluxe Apartments with private decks, offering glimpses of the ocean, 8 Standard Apartments (no view, but recently renovated and comfortable inside) and our 36-bed hostel. You will stay just steps from the ocean, next door to a small shop and walking distance to one of the best restaurants in Iceland.

Great little village

Really nice apartment complex in this quaint village. We were a late arrival and the staff was super helpful. Place was clean and well equipped with a very comfortable bed. We would totally stay here again.

Great Stay at Bakki Apartments and Hostel

So appreciative of the management’s flexibility when the ring road was closed and we needed to get in a day early (on Christmas Day no less!). There had been a huge snowfall so they were busy removing snow all day. The apartment was clean and cozy. Eyrarbakki is a sweet town. I can’t wait to come back in the summer.

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Die Kommunikation war problemlos. Die Rezeption sehr entgegenkommend. Wir hatten ein sehr großes Appartement. Parkplatz unmittelbar davor. Die Lage ist schön. Direkt am Meer. Es war alles vorhanden. Es müsste an einigen Stellen renoviert werden. Rostige Stellen hat es mehrere, vergilbte Kunststoffteile im Bad und insgesamt alles etwas unsauber stören den ansonsten sehr guten Gesamteindruck.

Wunderschöne Wohnung

Sehr schöne große Wohnung mit sehr viel Platz , voll ausgestattete Küche mit 2 Kaffeemaschinen ( Filter und Pad) Toaster,Ofen,Microwelle, riesiger Kühlschrank ,es ist alles vorhanden.Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt .Obwohl die Wohnung direkt an der Straße liegt ist es sehr ruhig.Es fahren allgemein nur sehr wenige Autos vorbei .Besonders hat uns gefallen dass man hinter dem Haus über einen kleinen Damm gehen kann und dann direkt am Meer ist , wir haben es sehr genossen und würden die Wohnung jederzeit wieder buchen bzw. weiterempfehlen

The apartment is in a sleepy little down. The check in process was very easy and since we were traveling with our 1 year old they brought us a highchair. The place was spacious and clean. One of the nicest apartments we stayed in during our stay in Iceland. Would definitely stay again.

Jessi was very easy to communicate with, and allowed us to check in early, which we appreciated very much. The place was spotless, and very comfortable, with all we needed. This location has interest and easy access to south coast, Selfoss, airport, etc. a lovely first stop for us.

My 7 year old daughter and I recently stayed at this location and it was amazing. The location is nice and private but still near sightseeing areas. We loved that it is next to the shoreline and the open windows provided gorgeous views in the morning and evening. I would highly recommend.

Room to spread out after a long day in the car

Large apartment with room for a family of four to spread out and be comfortable. Our last stop before leaving Iceland, great kitchen and room to move. Be sure to make the drive between here and the airport along the south coast road, through Grindavik. We arrived in town late,and had to leave early, so we didn't have the chance to explore Eyrarbakki, but wished we had.

I'm Jessi, an American living in Iceland. Together with my husband Jóhann (who's Icelandic), we own and manage the local restaurant Red House (The Red House) as well as 16 guest apartments and a small hostel here in Eyrarbakki.

Our apartments are located in the old fish factory in the heart of the village, right on the seaside. This large building was abandoned for many years after the harbor closed and the fishing industry shut down. Piece by piece, we are turning it into apartments for guests. It's perhaps not your typical vacation rental, because the apartments are purpose-built as guest accommodation—but it's a tiny village and we would like to invite more visitors to come and stay without taking family homes off the market. A small part of the building has a 36-bed hostel, and that's where we will meet you with the keys.
