Renee is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Bed was comfortable and the amenities were great.
The property owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. Check-in process was easy. The house was located in a nice and safe area. I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect for what I was looking for - a reasonably priced place near the SU campus. The description sounded like a small house - it’s actually a finished basement. But it was nice and quiet.
Renee's property is very close to the hub of the SU campus. She was very responsive to any questions we had. The area my husband and I shared had a private bath, bed room and den and matched the description as posted. Bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have use to a coffee machine. Would stay here again.Thank you Maureen

Thank you so much, you both were a pleasure to host, hope to see you again!

Renee is a lovely house host. I was delighted to find this gem right outside the university campus so I could be nearby getting my son settled at Syracuse. I plan to stay again and set up telework on that beautiful front porch some time. Highly recommend.
Was like a small, European hotel. Owner was great. She was friendly, and there were good spaces for me to privately study. Was 0.6 miles from the law school, which took me about 16 minutes to walk. Will be back in the future!

Such a pleasure to host! I know I’ll see you again!!
Renee could not be a better host! Her home is just 2 blocks away from the university and is quite comfortable. She has quite a few rooms (6 or 7?) so this would be a great option for a family (or two) or a large group. Most importantly, she serves up fresh cookies every day!!!!
The host lives in the house, and rents out two bedrooms on the second floor. Ours had an additional sitting room with a mini-fridge, and we also had the use of the kitchen for making breakfasts and lunches to go. We appreciated having a good, firm mattress! Renee, the host, was easy to work with, and we enjoyed our stay. It's a good central location if you want to visit historical sites, parks, wineries/breweries etc. in central NY and the Finger Lakes area.
I stayed here while bringing my son to Syracuse to start his Sophomore year. The house is located just a block or two from campus and is great. Comfortable bedding, working AC during a very hot period, fast internet. Renee was a great host and super helpful.
If privacy is a huge issue for you, this is a big house with multiple rooms being rented and that bathrooms and kitchen are going to be shared with others. That was fine with me but wasn't entirely clear from the listing. But I'll definitely stay at Renee's house again next time I'm in Syracuse. I'm grateful to have found such a great place to stay whenever I visit my son at college
Renee let me use her French Press for my decaf coffee. She also gave helpful suggestions to navigate getting as close as possible to the Dome for my Grandson’s football game. I broke a bone in my foot & was worried I’d have to walk too far from parking.
I requested a private bath which meant being on the third floor walk up. She carried my luggage. While the space needs updating, it has a wealth of potential! I would love to remodel it! The bed was very comfortable. I used the battery operated light on the front door dresser & my book light in the bathroom to get from the bed to the bathroom during the night several times. The window AC & tall fan kept the room comfortable.

NOT entire home
Renee was nice, and check in was easy but besides that, nothing was like the listing. It is listed as entire home and while technically you have access to most of the home, this place is not private at all. There is ZERO indication on the listing that you could be sharing your stay with however many people. We thought we were staying in a home where the owner just lived in another area or something. But the home is actually just one big shared area. my husband and I ended up staying elsewhere because we were so uncomfortable with the dynamic. Renee gave us the basement, but it had a strange smell, and there was no way to lock our area from others coming in or anything like that. We were really disappointed and having to spend an extra 500 for hotels at last minute due to the listing not being what it said, really bummed us out on Syracuse.

I am so sorry, the listing clearly says owner lives on premises, it says I have a 7 bedroom home and rent out rooms. I gave you the most private space and your own bath and entrance. Again, I am sorry you thought it was an entire home.

I stayed with Renee for about two weeks while I was finishing work in Syracuse and getting ready to move cross-country for a new job. That said, I had all of my belongings with me in a super-packed car. I felt safe leaving my car in her driveway overnight and during the days that I walked to campus (about 10 minutes away). It's a quiet neighborhood and home, which was nice on the days I worked remotely and had several Zoom calls.
I stayed on the top floor, where I had a large bedroom and desk area, a private bathroom, and a small living area with a mini fridge and freezer. I used the big kitchen downstairs and laundry when needed, which was quite helpful during my extended stay.
Renee was very kind and helpful throughout my time there. I appreciated how she made sure I was doing okay and enjoying my visit. She also kept me updated on if and when there would be other guests staying in the house's other rentable rooms. She's overall a fantastic host. If I'm ever back in Syracuse, I would, without hesitation, stay with Renee again!

Basement unit
We stayed for Syracuse graduation, a late night arrival on a Friday, out on Sunday, used the unit only for sleeping and storing of travel items. We stayed in the basement unit which, unfortunately had an unpleasant odor. We didn't discover until checkout that coffee was available upstairs, the owner let us know at that time. Given the owner lives in the home and we came and went from our own entrance and that little info was given on the listing, I'm not quite sure what the amenities were/are. A super fast walk to campus, that was definitely the highlight. However, the neighborhood has homes that students rent so graduation parties were in full swing, late into the night. For the unit, the odor, the lack of understanding of amenities, etc was certainly overpriced. Unsure of additional upstairs units.
Renee kindly gave me the 3rd floor suite, instead of the second floor bedroom as she had originally planned, as she knew that I wanted to prepare some meals. The suite contained a microwave and refrigerator. The suite also has its own bath. I appreciated the privacy despite the long climb up stairs. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well. Renee checked in with me a couple of times to make sure I had what I needed and graciously offered the use of her kitchen. I would probably not like being there during the college term as I think the road noise could get loud.
Overall, I would return to the 3rd floor suite during the summer if I visited again. I would probably not like being there during the college term as I think the road noise could get loud.
Overall, I would return to the 3rd floor suite during the summer if I visited again.
One drawback was that the shower stall is very small and would probably not be comfortable for a large person. The bathroom carpeting looked a bit tattered with a bad stain.
We have rented from other Super hosts, but Renee is a whole level better than we have ever experienced before. The house was super clean, communication was great, and she was so accommodating to anything that was needed.
