Nice little place really well situated among the main places in Boonville. Shane was helpful getting us set up, and the cottage proved a great base for us and our 5 month old baby.
Warm and cozy little place. (Had a little musty smell in the beginning but cleared up) Shane was very helpful and friendly. First time in the area, but very friendly community and lots of great wineries and establishments. Definitely a come back to spot. I would like info on the bigger house on the property??
This cottage is a short walk to restaurants and shops in downtown Booneville. There is a lovely porch to sit on and a fence screens it from the road. It is right next to a bridge that makes a thump-thump everytime a car goes by which is pretty often because it is the only access for many homes. That might bother some. So might the raccoon living under the porch but not us - those things seemed charming.
Dixie and Matt, thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage. As usual we had a great time, but I do have to tell you, the place was not cleaned before we arrived. Jill had to go through and clean everything before we could start our stay. We know Shane is dealing with an arm issue but he should have had someone come in. Again, we enjoyed our stay and having to clean the cottage did not take away from that experience. We look forward to staying here again. Also, thank you for the card and bottle of wine. Best regards, Mark and Jill
The cabin is cute and private. Especially enjoyed sitting out on the private deck. We had a little hiccup getting check-in info but once that was handled, we arrived without a hitch and we’re assisted by property manager Shane. I enjoyed being able to walk a short distance to shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
You feel far away from "it all" in this lovely cottage but you are only a blocks stroll to several restaurants! The property manager, Shane, is just the perfect combination of available for help but leaving you alone! We will be back! The only downside is the bridge is being repaired so there is a loud noise every time a car passes but this is a temporary situation and very few cars passes during the night.

July 2022 Stay
We always love this cottage, but for the second time in row, the cottage was filthy. The floors were black, there was mildew on the shower floors, and the tables and cabinets had a layer of dust. Whoever Matt and Dixie use to pre-clean this place should be fired. We paid a cleaning deposit, but had to clean the cottage ourselves before we could be comfortable staying in it. As much as we love this cottage, we will never stay here again.
Great location, as main commercial strip extremely close (and Anderson Valley Brewery a little over a mile away). Has private front yard and nice wood deck overlooking the creek, which is covered by trees, so there is a lot of privacy from the main road.
Primary downside is the bridge that washed away a few years ago, as it also took out access to the original driveway. A temporary bridge is there now, and is very loud when the very rare car drives over it at night.
While the house appears to be disability accessible from the photos as it has a ramp up to the porch, getting to the house is a bit complex due to the temporary bridge. The bathroom is also tiny, so don't let the ramp fool you if you have a wheelchair.
Once the city rebuilds the bridge, the access issue will be resolved (and hopefully the loud bridge noise)
House does not have wifi or cable (but there is cell reception thankfully!), and town shuts down extremely early, so might want to bring some DVDs (as there is a player) or other forms of entertainment! Our entrainment was buying a bottle of wine from nearby tasting rooms, and listening to the frogs!
Great base for exploring the surrounding areas and wine tasting.
Sahne, the property manager who lived on the property, was a wonderful and helpful person. Anything we needed, he responded to very promptly, plus he shared with us some history of the town.
We loved being aboe to walk to places to eat.
Cute, comfortable and cozy cabin. Perfect base to see all Anderson Valley has to offer. "In town" but feels remote & secluded.

Check in was shaky
I had a phone conversation with the property owner a few days prior to my arrival. I had messaged him about bringing a small bbq to cook with on the deck. He called me back regarding that question and gave me directions and check-in info during that phone call. I wasn't prepared to take notes as it was very detailed. My fault for not writing them down, but I assumed the instructions would be in the email confirming the reservation or I would receive another email with check in instructions. I never received anything. This is the first time I did not get detailed instructions for check-in from a property owner on any rental site. This was the only negative part of the experience. The care taker was a little cranky when we arrived. Hopefully the property owner will add check in instructions to their welcome email in the future. Otherwise the place was nice for a quick getaway for my me and my wife.
This is a great place to stay in Boonville. It's right in town within walking distance of the main street. Wonderful little garden with deck to hang out. One warning is that the kitchen while large does not have a stove, so you can't cook which is potentially a problem since there aren't a lot of places to eat in Boonville. Does have a microwave, coffeemaker and toaster, so bagels for breakfast are fine. Full size refrigerator. Definitely bring your own shampoo and soap as well. Very relaxing.
This cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway. The yard/outdoor space is lovely, even while raining, and the location is ideal. Would definitely recommend!
This is the second time we have stayed here and will keep coming back. It's a 5 minute walk to town, nestled in the woods, and very private. Beautiful front deck to sit on, and comfortable bed. We sleep with the window open and it gets chilly enough to make if feel like camping, but incredibly cozy. Other reviewers have written about the temporary bridge that runs in front of the house and it is noisy when cars cross. We only noticed in the morning but traffic was sparse and did not bother us at all.
Cute house, that is fenced in and feels very private. Good deck area with two seating options. Minimal kitchen supplies, but we ate out most meals. We did find a few hairs in the shower, which felt a bit creepy (especially traveling in July 2020 with covid) - we brought our own wipes to clean when we arrived.
The bridge that connects the house to the Main Street looks like it suffered a bit of a landslide. You can still walk over on the side of the road, but to cross via car you need to go over a temporary wooden bridge. It is quiet loud and when you are in the house, you can hear every car that passes over. There wasn't a lot of traffic late night, but if you are a light sleeper it may impact your beauty rest.
Overall, easy to walk into town (a block away) but felt secluded. It was a nice getaway location.
