Brand New, modern, light, delightful small apartment packed with luxuries

New to the market and located above Church Bay (the western end of 2 miles of some of the most beautiful coastline in the world sits a new modern contemporary gem. This Studio apartment is fully detached from the main house providing a private experience. Features include king size bed, a Queen sized pull out sofa suitable for 2 children or 3rd adult, powerful air conditioning, large flat screen with HD Satellite showing content for every taste, wi-fi and bubble-massage tub and a towel warmer. The fully equipped stainless-steel kitchen has a Viking stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and a full complement of cookware, dish ware and glassware. For those who need to stay connected, we provide 200Mbps Internet Service. Other amenities include washer/dryer, a hotel style safe, private patio with bar-b-que, and view of ocean.

We are literally a stone's throw from Church Bay beach, a great snorkeling location - across the street.

The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to the main road to make walking, riding, buses or taxi transport a breeze. We have a dedicated Electric Vehicle Charge Point for exclusive use the apartment. There are beaches, pedestrian hiking trails, jet ski rentals, Port Royal golf course, spas, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and restaurants in close proximity. There are easy dining and spa options including the Fairmont Southampton and the Reefs Hotels restaurants both within 4 minutes. There is a large grocery store about 5 min ride from us.

The famous Horseshoe Bay Beach is about 4 minutes away and the beautiful Warwick Long Bay is about 6 min. The walking trails between the two have abundant small hidden beaches for exploration.

For those who are "green" conscious - Every light in the cottage is high quality LED providing superior light rendering. We have very efficient A/C systems and all electrical systems on property are powered by over 50 solar panels providing more than 15Kw of power to the house and cottage.

In the unlikely event of a power outage due to a hurricane or utility failure, we have a large 50KW diesal generator capable of easily powering all systems on the property for several days.

The neighborhood was quiet & the accommodations were adequate and cozy. The bus stop was 3 min away. We prepared breakfast daily & the kitchen had all necessary equipment. If you prefer to taxi or order in, then the apartment is easily found by both. Patrick was responsive to answer any questions (my questions were not related to the apartment) and we had NO issues during our 6D5N stay.

The apartment was as advertised. Great for 2 people. Clean, equipped with anything you might need to cook or walk down to the beach. Bus stop was very close. Definitely need the bus or a rental to get anywhere other than church bay which was beautiful, and secluded. The patio was nice; the foliage blocked any views but at the same time provided privacy. Washer dryer combo was nice. Shower was great, tub had jets but the stopper wouldn’t seal. Bed was super comfortable.

Our stay in Bermuda at this VRBO was in a perfect location close to all beaches and central to all attractions. King size bed and patio complete with beach chairs, snorkel gear and umbrellas was very helpful. Host was great and arranged for taxis to and from the airport. An all over fantastic stay.

A great Getaway

My wife and I spent 3 lovely days here. Very private with an Ocean view. Very close to the bus line stops going from Hamilton to the Dockyards. Fabulous bed, all the amenities, we ate in at night on the deck. I would definitely book this VRBO again.

Lovely stay

Nice, very clean. Provides everything you need. Great for physically fit people because there is a hill you have to walk down to the bus stop and back up when you come back. No problem for us but some would think it’s too much. Of course that’s not an issue if you’re renting scooters or taking a taxi everywhere. Highly recommend.

Perfect apartment!

Our stay here was amazing! The apartment was clean and well maintained. Water bottles, spices, toiletries, and towels were provided and set up before we entered. Patrick was very kind and helpful as well. My only complaints are that communicating with the host took a bit long to get a response, and watching cable on the TV had to be set up and it was not clear how to. Other than that, the stay was great!

Ok but needs work!

Not brand new as advertised. A remodel of an old structure like 6-10 years ago. The rental was clean but the bedding was very worn in. The sofa is also very dated and abused. The kitchen had everything you need to cook but the fry pans are no longer nonstick. A kitchen drawer was broken and hanging, unlike the photo. The last downfall was the cable was connected to an inactive cable receiver. There is nothing to watch other than YouTube for free.

Bermuda revisited

The unit itself was clean, well-furnished, and had several nice amenities as listed. There were some minor maintenance issues - missing towel bar in the bathroom; soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the bathroom did not work; light bulb burnt out over the bar area; and missing drawer knob on coffee table. The balcony was nice once they got the furniture replaced, but there was no view due to the overgrown vegetation. The washer/dryer was nice, but a small drying rack would have been helpful beings it took so long to dry the clothes. There were four remotes for the tv and cable boxes, but no instructions as to how to use them. We were able to turn the tv on, but neither of the cable boxes worked, so we could not get any local or cable channels. Communication with the host was disappointing. He was very slow to respond, if at all, to any of my emails/phone calls. There were a few unresolved issues, including a refund for one night, which he refused to process. The unit itself is ok, but due to the difficulties with the host, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Tolles Apartment in super Lage mit Waschmaschine. Gute Busverbindung in alle Richtungen und das Post Office in Fußentfernung, um die Busfahrkarten zu kaufen. Leider fehlt eine Sitzgelegenheit am Tresen für eine dritte Person. Ein Matratzenschoner wäre schöner als eine mit Plastikmüllbeuteln beklebte Matratze... Dafür ein riesiger Fernseher, den wir nie gebraucht haben, da man nach dem Schnorcheltag zu kaputt ist, um noch fernzusehen 😊

Quiet getaway in paradise

Perfect spot with everything you could need in a place. Great communications with host while onsite. Very close to many of the beaches and close to everything if you choose a scooter like we did (20 mins one way to Dockyard & 20 mins the other to Hamilton). This was a long weekend getaway for my fiancé and I. Spent most of our days at the beach. Cooked a humble meal in the rental (one dinner and a few breakfasts). Very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful Rental/ location

Rental was as advertised. Walking distance to Church Bay Park and the bus stop. About a 40 min walk to Horseshoe Bay, 20 min walk to the nearest restaurant or convenient store. Overall the place is great, however, our experience was just ok. Much of the island is still not operational with many things closed. Also, I had wished there be better communication between myself and Patrick, the contact person. We, along with a few other VRBO renters missed our flights due to not having the appropriate Bermudian documentation. Everyone else on the flight was contacted by their resort to assure the documents were completed. It started off the trip rocky and never recovered. We had to quarentine Its an entire day in our room which made us feel like prisoners. It didn't feel like a vacation, rather a stressful few days in which we couldn't wait to come home. The Rental property was nice and Patrick was easily accessible, however the experience of going to Bermuda was terrible.

Lovely location.. loved access to the beach. Owner was available when needed as well as accommodating. My struggle would be in referring this cottage due to upkeep. The covered balcony was the draw for me however it lost its appeal because the trees were not managed, lots of lizards and outside furniture moldy.. big disappointment. As we are in the middle of a pandemic I anticipated more effort in sanitization. My concerns: Ceiling dusty from the fan.. curtains and rugs stained and smelly. Did not feel confident in sleeping under sheets or on the sofa bed. Floors looked stripped/weathered. Closet doubles as broom closet. Whoever is the “ cleaning people” need to be re-evaluated.

Perfect Small Apartment!

3 adults stayed comfortably here. The owner has efficiently used every inch of space in this apartment, and it had everything we needed for our 8-night stay, including proper cookware and combination washer/dryer. The little balcony surrounded by flowering vegetation was used every evening, unwinding from the day and enjoying the frog-song. We often had breakfasts and some dinners right there, with a view of Church Bay and palm trees. It's nice to know the owner lives in the next-door house and, although we didn't require any assistance, we felt reassured by his nearness. He left us 3 portable beach chairs, which we took on the bus with us to Horseshoe Bay and Elbow Beach. This property is not within walking distance of any retail business, so do as we did and bring plenty of snacks, juice boxes, etc. with you before you arrive, then you will not feel pressured to grocery shop on your first few days here. On arrival to Bermuda, we took a taxi from the airport to the ferry terminal and asked the driver to wait while we bought 7 day bus passes, then she drove us straight to the apartment. We were able to catch a bus into town the next morning, and used the passes throughout our stay. The public transit service was occasionally unreliable, such as one morning we were waiting for quite a while at our bus stop, and a local man driving by on his scooter stopped and told us there was an unexpected 3 hour meeting of bus drivers, and none would be in service till 1pm, for which we were grateful. There are taxis driving on that road all day long, so it was easy to flag one down almost immediately. We were there during the weekend and National Hero's Day, and for those 3 days the buses ran on reduced schedule, which was somewhat confusing. One day we were waiting at the bus stop with our beach chairs and big backpacks, and a kindly resident driving by actually stopped, told us the bus might not show up there for an hour, and offered to drop us off anywhere on his way into Hamilton. We accepted, loaded all our stuff in his small car, and he drove us right down to Elbow Beach! There are some lovely people living on this island, and I would not hesitate to return to this South Shore Gem for another stay!
