The Park has playground equip. and a lake with a with a waterfall that is lit up at night. The local Lion's Club stocks the trout in the lake each season and is open to all to fish with no license needed. We hope a family member will be able to say "I caught my first fish in Buena Vista!" All of our kids and grandkids have enjoyed this. We have provided a few fishing poles, tackle box and worms can be bought at the local gas stations. Please leave equipment and clean bucket behind. Grandma doesn't like the fish to be cleaned in her sink, please do outside with hose and dispose of properly.

Once you have crossed over please enjoy the Barbra Whipple Walking Trail and biking trails over Midland.
After you return back to Grandma's house, if you would like to go west (towards the mountains), drive approximately 3 miles and you will find the Comanche Movie Drive- In, (opened in 1966 by the Groy family). Take a blanket, a folding chair and a treat to eat and sit outside under the stars and watch a great movie. Grandpa says it doesn't get any better than that! If you travel straight past the drive-in approx. 2 miles you will find the Cottonwood Hot Springs Resort, natural hot springs that you can soak in. Straight past that approx. 2 miles is the turnoff for Cottonwood Lake. You will arrive after 3 miles to a beautiful peaceful serene mountain lake.

Loved this house! It was the perfect location for our family. Close to downtown and family who lives in town. House definitely reminded me of going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house as a child.
Perfect for three generations attending a family wedding. Spacious with nice family gathering spaces inside and out. So handy to downtown Buena Vista!!
Super responsive host and property manager who answered all my questions and responded to my requests almost immediately. Cozy place in a great location for our purposes.
The home was filled with love, family, and happiness. The check-in was simple, the location was very convenient, and the kitchen was perfect to allow us to cook family meals. We definitely recommend this property.
Grandma and Grandpa's house worked out great and was centrally located for our trip to BV. Our small dog enjoyed the very nice fenced yard when we weren't on walks.
It was a lovely home that work great for a place to relax. The weather was great and so we ate all our meals outside at the picnic table they had. Wonderful trees provide great shade.
This home is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a wonderful week in Buena Vista. It’s within easy walking distance to town and the river. The communication with Deanna, the property manager, was clear, easy, and delightful! Our family highly recommends this property!
We had a very nice time at Grandma and Grandpas house! The yard was perfect for our dogs and son to run around and play in. The proximity to downtown and everything was amazing, and it’s a short drive to all the great hiking and biking and hot springs.
The house had everything we needed and was walking distance to downtown area. Close to hiking trails and was the perfect place for us and our dog Archie!
Grandma and Grandpa's House was fantastic. Clean, roomy, comfortable. The only thing missing was the baking cookie smell and I would have thought I was at my grandma's house. Near to town but very quiet. Can't wait to visit again.
Overall the house was great. We enjoyed our stay. It was close to the wedding venue.

About the host

Grandma was born and raised here in the teeny tiny town of Buena Vista. Grandpa was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. They are the proud parents of Five children and Twenty grandchildren. You will see their pictures when you come to visit. Please don't forget Abby, our black Lab that travels with us wherever we go. One of our grandchildren always called her "Abby Dog". She likes that name too. She loves grandchildren, she thinks all children are her grandchildren just like Grandma does. We love to go up in the mountains, hike, fish, camp, ATV or snowmobile. We don't get to do that as often as we would like to since we spend much of our time in Utah taking care of Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Can you believe that they are 90+ years young? We can't give you their exact age, because that just wouldn't be proper now, would it? We hope you enjoy your stay! We are looking forward to your pictures and or drawings of you doing something fun and having a great adventure at Grandma & Grandpa's House.
Why they chose this property
This property is special because this is where Grandma and Grandpa lives. Once you step in the door, you will feel right at home, warm, wonderful and cozy. Everything you need is right here to have a great holiday or getaway in the Rockies. Small town atmosphere with breath taking Colorado Rockies surrounding you. Within walking distance to all the great shops, art galleries, restaurants, parks, and grocery store, You and your family will enjoy this hideaway and come back year after year. We just can't wait to welcome you to Grandma & Grandpa's House, where special memories are made for a lifetime. Come and visit, kick your shoes off and stay awhile. You will be glad you did! When you are out enjoying the great outdoors, we also have for your fur babies Paw-some Dog Sitting! (available by reservation).
What makes this property unique
We are centrally located just a few steps away from Main Street. We are two blocks away from McPhelemy Park, where you can fish at the Town Lake, (you do not need a fishing license) during the day. Who knows you might catch your first fish in Colorado right there. We do have fishing poles you can borrow. After dark the water fall is lit up and is pretty to see. The fall colors are incredible this year. During Gold Rush Days in August, numerous booths are set up in the park. There are numerous free concerts to attend during the summer. Don't forget the 4th of July Parade, its only a few steps away, bring a chair and sit in the shade and enjoy a great old fashion parade. You might even get sprayed from a fire truck. Don't forget to bring a grocery bag to collect all the candy and goodies that will be thrown your way.
