Alex, thanks so much for the great review and for booking another night! Glad your stay was wonderful. The cottage is one of my favorite places to relax! Hope to see you again!
Missy's upper cabin is a great summer getaway right on Chenango Lake. The cabin itself is nothing fancy, but it's got all the essentials. What really makes this place worthwhile are the outdoor amenities. Private grill, fire pit, picnic table. Shared access (with one neighboring house) to kayaks, canoe, SUP, and dock. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only inaccuracy in the listing would be that the "coin operated laundry" is NOT an amenity. Having come from several days of camping, we were really banking on having on-site access to a washer/dryer, but the listing is referring to a laundromat 6 miles away.

Pamela, thank you for the nice review! So glad you enjoyed the outdoor activities. It really is a beautiful and peaceful area. I apologize for coin laundry appearing on the list of amenities. We've never had laundry facilities on the property (wish we did!) and I didn't have it checked for our cabin next door. So it was checked off in error. Thank you for bringing it to my attention and I hope it was not a major inconvenience.
I contacted Missy prior to my arrival and we had a wonderful and charming conversation. Our arrival was great. The cabin has everything you could possibly need for your stay. I was amazed at the attention they pay to providing everything. To enjoy the lake there were canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, tubes and fishing gear. The locker included life preservers and swim shoes if needed. A fire pit with an ample supply of firewood was available adjacent to the adirondack chairs facing the lake view. Inside the cabin was a full kitchen stocked with all of your needs. The bathroom also had an ample supply of linens and toiletries. The cabin is a close drive to town where there are restaurants and shopping. We used it as a base camp and took day trips to Cooperstown, Utica and Binghamton. There is a nice local brewery a couple of miles away with live music and food trucks. I have already recommended this location to some friends.

Robert, thank you for the wonderful review! I enjoyed speaking with you and happy you had a good time at our Lakehouse Cabin. It's one of our favorite places to spend time! Thank you also for recommending our cabin to your friends! Fingers crossed that the Annual Bluesfest will be held in 2021 once again!
A simple little cottage on a quiet lake in a lovely, pastoral part of the Adirondacks. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Everything needed for a pleasant time on the lake was provided, and our hosts were immediately available by text if we had any questions (which we didn't).
Our host, Missy, was fantastic in every way. When I asked that we might be arriving early, Missy was accommodating beyond our request and when we asked if we could extend our stay an additional day, again Missy beat our expectations. We were very happy with our host.
Getting into the cabin was easy . The GPS directions combined with Missy's instructions made entry a snap.
The cabin was clean and well equipped for our 6 day stay. The kitchen had most everything we needed to prepare our own meals. Bed linens and towels were also provided. WiFi internet access was fast and worked everywhere near the cabin. We had no problem with cell service (T-Mobile and Consumer Cellular)
The lake is beautiful and the host provided a place for a campfire, kayaks, a canoe, life jackets, fishing gear, picnic table and Adirondack chairs to allow guests to enjoy all the lake has to offer.
While there are many homes around the lake, the lake was peaceful and quiet. On the weekend, there were a few more motor powered watercraft, but even then, it was pretty quiet and dawn and dusk were heavenly quiet and peaceful.
Thank you Missy for a wonderful 6 day June getaway.
Renting was straight forward. The cabin was in excellent condition and met our expectation. The location by the lake was nice and we really enjoyed the New Berlin area.
Missy provided an easy check-in. When we arrived and my wife saw the cottage from outside she was afraid it was going to be too small (we are just getting used to traveling without children). Once we got in she said the cottage was a perfect size for two people and that we over packed since Missy provided nearly everything. Previous vbro rentals that stated they were well stocked always had something missing (sharp knives to cut grilled steak, strainer for pasta ...) so we learned to bring stuff anyway. None of that was needed here. This owner has really provided everything (even spare batteries). The drive to town is about 15 minutes and has a grocery store open until 12 am. The cottage was very clean and the property was shaded (sunlight is at the water's edge and filtered through the trees). Kayaks and canoe were great (sharing with guests in the lower cottage was not an issue). Enjoyed fishing, snorkeling, reading by the fire pit, hanging in hammock, grilling, games .... we did it all. The best fishing is from the kayak/ canoe about 30 yards from shore a just beyond the property line (towards boat ramp). The lake was quiet (although people of motor boats on the lake it seems that boat traffic is low and people behave responsibly) and at night we could hear owls when we were at the fire pit. We took a day trip in to Ithaca (1.5 hrs away) and I am glad we did Taughanock Falls, Ithaca Falls and The Buttermilk Falls gorge trail were spectacular. Don't the the distance deter you from making the trip to see these falls. We stayed for 5 nights and wished we could have stayed longer.
We had such a wonderful time at the lake house! The property was perfect - nestled in the woods, on the water, had everything we needed and more, easy to get to, great size. We all loved it. The lake is beautiful - so clean and refreshing. We swam every day, fished, BBQed. It was fabulous. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone. I did meet the hosts and they were wonderful! I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay there! Thank you for everything!
I spent 7 nights at this lovely cabin. I really enjoyed every single day with my family. The lake was unbelievably clean, and the cabin very enjoyable. It was a very quiet place where we could rest from the hectic nature of the city. Thank you Missy and Chris for letting us stay.
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage! The location was great and we took advantage of the kayaks, fire pit, and dock. The cottage was clean and exactly what we were looking for.

Thank you for choosing our cabin on Chenango Lake! Happy to hear you enjoyed your stay.
These pics do not do it justice! 😍 My fiancé and I have been dying to get away from our busy little life in Philly. Missy provides everything you could possibly need. We used the paddle board, the tubes, the hammock, fire pit, grill, etc. We spent our time reading by the dock, watching the sunsets, and enjoying the low humidity and the sounds of birds every morning. Thank you for the zucchini bread, chocolate chip cookies, etc. We loved this spot and will be back (maybe again later this summer!)

Great getaway
My wife and I stayed during Colgate graduation weekend. This is the second time I stayed at this property. The cabin is very cozy and the “home-style” amenities make it easy to enjoy. We had a free day and just hung out cooking and watching a Redbox movie. If we knew the weather was going to be as nice as it was, we would have brought swim gear and hung out in the lake.
Missy is very responsive and leaves yummy banana bread for her guests. I would highly recommend this location for anyone visiting the area.

Great location, facilities and host
I was very happy with this property. Although I could not take full advantage of it due to my schedule, it was nice to know that I had a comfortable place to relax and lay my head. Missy was very easy to work with and provided lots of information about the location, nearby attractions, etc. I would (and already have) book another stay when visiting the Hamilton area.

Great weekend getaway!
Spent the weekend at the cottage for getaway, and was not disappointed. The cottage itself was cute, relaxing and comfortable. It had the amenities we needed: wifi, a grill, fire pit, hammock and kayaks. It was clean, quiet and appropriately priced.
In town, there are some restaurants and shopping, but aside for meals, we just enjoyed relaxing at the cottage. There is a nice deck (which accommodates a tree growing through it) to sit and enjoy the morning coffee, and watching the sunset. The lake itself isn't very large, and was nice to kayak around on.
The only reason I wouldn't recommend staying here, is if it happens to be on a weekend I want to stay there again ;-) Otherwise, great place for a nice weekend!
