Splash in a new pool or chill at the beach but don't sit in Traffic!!

NO need to load your beach gear into the car when this Chicahauk beach cottage is a short walk to the Southern Shore beach access. Waves, sand, and marine life await for you to explore everyday. Perfectly located at the first traffic light as you head north on the beach Hwy 12 - You have now escaped all the traffic. When you need to access groceries, a fresh fish market, bagels, smoothies, ice cream, coffee shop, an ABC store, bank, pizza, or Walmart you are only 1 traffic light and 5 minutes away. You will never have to spend your vacation on OBX in your car again. Just pack your swimsuit and beach towels for fun in the sun!

Each morning you wake to decide if you will explore the beach, the island or a book by the pool. The house is equipped with beach toys, ping pong table, bikes, chairs, volley ball, and everything you need to exhaust your children and yourself. When your energy level drops relax in the large open living area. Everyone can stay connected while watching TV, cooking, playing games or puzzles, or escape for some quiet time in the side sunporch. The wireless Sonos speaker system extends onto the deck for outside grilling and dining. A brand-new heated pool awaits in the backyard for water volleyball, Marco Polo, or just floating.

The kitchen has been renovated in 2017 with new appliances and is fully equipped for all of your gourmet needs. A large granite counter allows enough space for everyone to pitch in with the cooking duties or spectate on the three counter height stools. Under cabinet lighting illuminates the glass tile backsplash and supplies task lighting. A high chair is tucked away in the corner of the dining area for your wee ones.

The upstairs main floor has an open concept living area as well as three bedrooms and a hall bathroom. One of the couches is a sleeper sofa with full linens available for extra guests. The master bedroom has a brand new king bed and hypoallergenic matters (7/16/20), flat screen TV, ample closets and an ensuite full bathroom with a separate vanity sink area. Another bedroom has twin beds while the third bedroom has a day bed with pull out trundle and a baby crib.

A large master suite is located on the ground floor with a king size bed, flatscreen smart tv, ensuite full bathroom with a shower, large walk in closet and sitting area with recliners. Also on the ground floor is entry to the house and the laundry room which furnishes W/D and Hvac unit.

The car port located under the deck provides sheltered parking, space for the ping pong competition, outdoor shower and pool entry.

This is our second year at Fish Kiss and it won’t be our last. It’s such a comfortable, well-furnished, well-equipped home and sparkling clean. And the location can’t be beat! Easy access to everything OBX has to offer and an easy 6-8 minute walk to a lovely beach with a lifeguard. It’s a wonderful house!

Perfect Location

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The location couldn’t be better and the space was perfect for our family. Kitchen space is pretty tight and there were a couple loads worth of dirty towels in the laundry room, only moderately clean overall inside. We loved the pool, beach supplies were nice to have. We recommend taking kiddos to the soundside beach for calmer waves and less jellyfish. We went to Jockey Ridge a few times.

This house was wonderful! Very clean and comfortable. Pictures on listing are accurate. Location is great! Close to lots of stores, restaurants etc but in a quiet peaceful neighborhood. Easy, quick walk to the beach. Took us about 6 min. Beach cart and beach chairs and umbrella provided were great and appreciated. Backyard pool was awesome. Plenty of supermarkets nearby and kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. No complaints. Highly recommend!

House was clean and comfortable! Nicer than VRBO pictures. Well stocked kitchen. Nice pool. Everything close. Plenty of space to move around and not being on top of each other. Everything you want in a beach house.

Everything you need in one convenient package

Where do I start? Between the proximity to the beach, the generous amount of available beach gear, the pool, the well stocked kitchen, the comfortable beds- this place really does have it all and we enjoyed every minute staying here. Just wish it could’ve been longer!

Wonderful Home and Stay in OBX!

We had a great time at Fish Kiss! The property was clean and stocked with everything anyone could want for a complete beach vacation. Comfortable, inviting seating in the living room made for great evenings relaxing around a movie. The location could not have been more perfect. The house is a short 6-8 minute walk to the beach, with direct access across Route 12 to the beach path. There is a stop light and walk/don't walk sign, which makes it safe to cross! I have to mention the beach wagon, which made toting to and from the beach very easy! We would happily rent Fiss Kiss again!

Exceeded expectations

We absolutely loved this rental. Pictures don’t do it justice. Fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed. Pantry items were a bonus. We took advantage of corn hole and ping pong table. Private, secluded setting but so convenient to everything we needed. Gorgeous pool area with COMFORTABLE SEATING. So much room to spread out. Never felt claustrophobic. Added touches of fresh cut flowers upon arrival and a welcome bucket made it over the top perfect. Thanks so much for making this a wonderful vacation after a very crappy year. We needed it. We never needed to contact the property manager but I’m sure that would’ve been awesome too. 😎

Can't beat the location and pool

Location is amazing. Super close to the beach, grocery stores and a quick drive into Duck. The pool is awesome and all the extras like beach chairs, pool toys, bikes and sand toys. House is very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Perfect Family OBX Getaway!

This place was perfect for my family. The house had everything we needed for an amazing vacation! Lots of toys, games, and puzzles for the kids. Nice beach towels are provided, which is a nice touch. This is a short walk from the beach, but a nice beach wagon is there to help with the haul-out. 🥰 Pool was great for night swimming and the owners seem to want everyone to have a good time! Also appreciated a quick check-out process without a lot of 'chores' before leaving. This was a very relaxing week!!

Great location

Fish kiss was just as advertised. I stayed in this home with my two teens. It’s a very short walk to the beach. My kids enjoyed using the provided boogie boards on the beach. We used the wagon to haul our chairs and cooler to the beach. There are nice beach chairs and a cooler as well if you need them. There are also bikes and a ping pong table. Everything was as advertised. The pool was very nice also. You can easily run to the grocery stores down the road if needed. After a long day my teens enjoyed being able to watch Netflix. There is one garbage can that doesn’t have wheels out of three. I think guests before us filled it up and then I had to drag it in once the garbage company finally took it. They are serious about that three foot distancing between cans. We had a great week and I would definitely recommend this home. The hosts provide you with everything you need to have a stress free vacation!

This place was very well equipped! Sheets/towels/everything! Oh it was so perfect for 8 months old and 2 yr old. Pool toys. Beautiful pool! The wagon to the beach with the kids was a Lifesaver. I had a few questions and the host responded within minutes. It will be highly recommended by us!

Wonderful Stay

This is a comfortable, well located property that worked very well for three couples and one 17 month old. It's close to a beautiful section of the beach with a life guard on duty. Loved the pool area especially in the morning and after an afternoon at the beach. The kitchen is very well stocked. If you are looking for modern luxury this is not for you. If you want a great space to spend time with family this is it. A bonus is the baby's room with a crib. There are lots of games and puzzles for young and old.We left with happy memories and would return again.

A great get away

My family and I stayed at this property in May of 2021. Everything seemed very new and the kitchen had everything. Not only did it have absolutely everything we needed in it, it was all very clean. The whole house was very clean, which is one of the most important things for my family. The pool area had lots foliage debris so we cleaned that up ourselves, this was probably the only downside of this property (for us, it wasn't a big deal, we don't mind a little work even on vacation). Overall we were very impressed and would stay there again for sure!

Perfect family spot

The house is wonderfully stocked with just about everything you would need for your vacation! We had a great time staying here. Just a short walk to the beach and the pool is very relaxing. Plenty of pool toys for the children as well. Would definitely book again!

Location!

We had such a great time. The walk to the beach was short and there was so much beach equipment at the house. The pool was fantastic. Being able to get to and from the grocery stores while avoiding Hwy 12 was perfect. We plan to stay again!

Perfect location

First trip to Outer Banks and it did not disappoint! The location is perfect- close to the beach but off the main road, close to the bridge so we didn't get stuck in a traffic jam. House was clean, well stocked and pool was great. Short driving distance to shopping, restaurants, activities. We had a wonderful time and would return.

The house needs a general make over

The location was great, lots of biking possibilities... beach was a few minutes to walk.. We chose this house, because our friends with their 1 year old read the description and wanted the heated pool so that they can use it with the baby. The description did not say that the pool will be only 10F warmer than the outside temperature. Although we were there mid May, the temperature outside was in the 60s/70s during the day and partially in the 50s at night- hence the pool was too cold to use for the baby and most adults. What we really missed except for the heated pool, was being able to sit on the deck outside for meals. The outdoor furniture on the deck were spartanic and partially falling apart and in any case did not allow 6 adults to sit at the same table.

Growing up in Chicago didn't offer Don and I opportunity to enjoy four full seasons of beautiful weather that we find in the south. For years we debated finding a place on the sound side or ocean side, north of Duck or south in Nags Head. Finally after years of summer rentals we found the perfect spot. I almost feel the need to rename the house "The perfect Spot" We have enjoyed every family vacation here throughout the years and hope you will enjoy all of the fun adventures the outer banks has to offer during your stay.

Why they chose this property

Did I mention this is the perfect location?? 15 minutes from 5 golf courses, great fishing spots, easy access to many amenities, but the big plus is you won't find yourself sitting in hours of traffic trying to get to your rental house. The forested area offers shaded streets and paths for biking, sound side access, community tennis courts, playground and wildlife. Just a short walk to the beach means you just have to throw a beach chair on your back and go.

What makes this property unique

As much as I love the beach sometimes the surf gets to be too much for the little ones. That prompted us to install a heated pool in winter of 2019. We are excited to offer this amenity to our guests and visiting family members. With golf, tennis, running paths, biking, windsurfing, fishing, swimming, surfing, volleyball, ping pong, right at your fingertips there isn't any reason to look any further.
