The Beech House: Family Fun in Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve with Locals

The Beech House is located in a super family-friendly neighborhood adjacent to Sea Scape Golf course amid expansive Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve. This area is a rarity on Bodie Island heavily wooded section with super convenient access to the beach, shopping and bike & walking trails.
The Living Area has Large Screen TV with surround sound, as well as a karaoke machine. Recreation Room has a large-screen TV/VCR/DVD and pool table; 2 Queen Bunks and a futon provide additional sleeping space.
The kitchen is a well-equipped, while the living and dining areas are both beautiful and functional. In addition to the large-screen TV/VCR/DVD the living area has Surround Sound that also extends to screened porch where a volume control is located.
There are also loads of games, books, DVD and VCR movies available for your enjoyment, as well as some toys for young children: Check the custom china cupboard and inside ottoman.
The Master Bedroom has 'wire' connection to WiFi network, TV/DVD/VCR, massive Master Bath, and an exterior entrance/exit to a private covered porch with stair access to the pool area and back of home.
The guest Master Bedroom is only bedroom that overlooks the pool, and has a rocking chair, but no TV.
The two pyramid bunk rooms each have TV w/ imbedded DVD player, and has a double-size bottom bunk, single-size top bunk, and a single-size trundle below.
The cable unit one 2nd floor can be moved to either of the 3 bedrooms (master or bunks), but should be returned to master bedroom if moved during your stay.

Outdoor Fun: The pool area has speaker to Surround Sound which can be turned on, with volume control, from the screened-in porch area, so music/sound can be enjoyed as well for 'outdoor' sound as well as 'indoor' sound. There are quite a few lounge chairs and a few pool floats. In addition to the pool, there is a screened porch, outdoor shower, and hot tub. Beach supplies and yard games are also kept in garage for your use. The beach umbrella can be used for short (due to wind/weather) periods with the outdoor patio table that has center hole for umbrella insertion.

This is a great property for a family. Plenty of room to spread out. The teenagers especially like the third floor all to themselves. The pool was so refreshing and we enjoyed it every evening. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you would need to cook for a crew. It is a three minute drive to the beach where we easily found parking every day on Luke Street. There is a lifeguard right at the Luke Street beach access and porta potties there too. The owners were super communicative and helpful. We hope to return!

We too are big fans of the Luke Street beach access also. The Eckner Street is SO convenient and also has great 'amenities' if commercial/retail options are preferred, but Luke Street is more our jam too. The "color" options with our pool lights make for an elevated evening experience, and so we were glad to hear your family enjoyed the pool area around the clock as we do.

Craig and Judy were great hosts and very responsive! They communicated well before our stay, during our stay and even afterwards. The house was perfect for the families we had and our kids. Everyone had a great time and it was in a great location! Definitely will stay here again if we go back to visit the outer banks!

Thank you ! We would love to have you return. Location, location, location -- we TOO love our location. Far enough from beach to be safe in times of stormy weather, yet close enough for a quick bike ride, or daily stroll. In the summer time, that "coastal woods" we live in creates a nice shady and cool escape from the hot sand and hard surfaces. Let us know if you wish to find a window available for a return visit which we will discount -- as calendar does not seem to be very user-friendly with finding those openings.

Very homey feel and relaxing. Plenty of space. Yard great fpr dogs. Neighborhood quiet and noce neighbors. Our stay was cold and windy, so we did not use jacuzzi, but would love to return in warmer weather. Loved the screened in back porch. Plenty of parking.

They REALLY are a major part of how wonderful the experience is for our guests to "Live like a Local" in what we consider the best neighborhood in OBX. Our guests will effectively live in a "Coastal Woods Reserve" for their stay. Hope to see you come back - we will give discount just let us know. There are some openings coming up - it doesn't look like it is easy for guest to "see the openings" so let me know if interested and we can waive the #days depending on the particular week but we do have at least some availability for each month - but mostly May, June & August, September.

Wonderful place to stay in a great location

Wonderful house in a private and quiet neighborhood with lots of woods and places to walk. Beach is only a short, straight-line drive to the beach.

Family vacation

The host was amazing, the weather was perfect, nice peaceful neighborhood great pool and hot tub , so many amenities to many to list but if you need it for a beach vacation it’s there ,great kitchen love the stove and the kitchen faucet wanted to bring them home !! Great central location we will be back !!

Why they chose this property

Sea Scape community offers easy access to EVERYTHING yet remains protected from storm systems coming from either the Atlantic Ocean (under 1 mile), or the Albemarle Sound (> 3 miles). The mainland is a short jaunt for access to the water park, and less-costly shopping and entertainment.
Kitty Hawk is a very family-oriented beach town with easy access to lots of fun things to do (surfing, fishing, boating, kayaking, biking, etc.), and interesting things to see (wild horses, lighthouses, bird watching, coastal woods and waterways, etc.).
Our friend/neighbor owns Corolla Jeep Adventures and the Wahoo charter fishing (as featured on 1st season of Wicked Tuna: North v. South). NOTE: Discounts may be available upon request.
The Beechwoods Resort is adjacent to the neighborhood which connects to miles of bike and walking trails through Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve, and offers short-term gym membership.
Avalon Pier offers bath house option just several miles south.
