Immaculate and well maintained home on SSB! NEW for 2024 upgraded kitchen!
The Breakaway is a beautiful and well maintained home owned for over 23 years by the same owners. Each year it is updated and kept in immaculate condition. It is a very short walk to one of the top 20 beaches in the world according to a recent study by National Geographic.
Sunset Beach is a quiet, family beach great for families and couples. We offer four bedrooms and three bathrooms with an outdoor shower. Our screened in porch offers a view to the ocean as well as our Widow's Watch on the third floor. There is a private balcony off the upstairs master bedroom. Recently added is an outdoor renter's lockout area for your bikes, golf clubs, beach chairs etc... NEW for 2024 Quartz countertops and tile backsplash with zero radius sink and disposal.
Please note: During the summer months linens, towels, soap and shampoo is NOT included due to the fact that we rent both on VRBO and via a local rental company. In the off season months linens and towels are included with the rental.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Trash and Recyling cans go out Friday night please. They come before 7:00 AM. the next renter needs to arrive to an empty trash and recycle can. Thank you!
IF you needed to access lock out box in shower for keys please return. Code is 4401.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

About the host
Hosted by Lorelei Milan
We are Paul and Lorelei Milan and have owned The Breakaway for 23 years. Our now adult children learned to swim and ride bikes as children at SSB. Each year we upgrade the home as it is our home away from home. As avid golfers and travelers we try to get to Sunset Beach as much as possible. Over the past 23 years this home has become our family gathering place with multiple generations. The times we cannot be there we enjoy opening our home to fellow travelers and beach lovers. We hope your family makes lifetime memories here as we have done.

Sunset Beach is truly one of the nicest beaches in the world. We looked up and down the coast of North Carolina when on the hunt for beach property and knew the second we stepped on the island that it was the place for us.

What makes this property unique
One of the top reasons we chose the Breakaway was the close proximity to the beach and other island amenities. We love the open floor plan and knew the upper decks and lower screened in porch would be a perfect place for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Unlike a lot of homes, we improve our property each year.
