The perfect location for a wedding held at Snowflake lodge. The cabin is well maintained and has all the amenities we could ask for. The beds were very comfortable allowing us to sleep well throughout the night. We love to cook, and found the kitchen especially nice with everything we needed to cook all our meals. And the deck, well the photos say it all.
We stayed with another family, and the cabin was just the right size for everyone. The parents had their rooms, and the kids had a blast in the room with bunk beds. Everything you could ask for in a weekend trip to Bear Valley.
We loved the cabin!! Check in was quick and straight forward. It was perfect in size and it was great for the kids to play in the snow and the game room. There was only two issues, 1. They did not disclose that the garage was not accessible for parking and they’re where only two snow shovels we found to help dig us out…. Note to self bring lots of shovels. The second thing that mostly was out of their hands is be careful when coming to check in when it’s been snowing all day. Because of the downhill location it has a sharp turn to get to the cabin and we almost slid off the embankment which we would have rolled down or smashed into trees. The slick roads even with chains could not stop us. Thanks to the pile of snow on the side of the hill that was the only thing that stopped us from probably dying. I know they can’t control the storms but be cautious and be very familiar with driving in heavy snow conditions if you come when there is a snow storm. We definitely will be coming back but if another storm hits on our booked weekend we will probably cancel and try again. We never want to have that fear again.
Check In:
Check in was terrible. When we got to the property we noticed we didn’t have any signal AT ALL no way for us to check our emails to get in or to call. I spent 2 hours trying to find signal. Fortunately, a lovely resident allowed me to use his phone. I tried calling and they were closed. I asked my sister to get the email since she was barely on her way from San Francisco. We were able to get in. I never got a response from management about me being able to get in until the next day in the afternoon. All I was told was “we’re glad you were able to get in” no questions asked.
House Cleanliness:
Shower had red stuff all around the the edge when I pointed it out on the day of check out they said “the water here has red stuff that leaves residue” and we showered with that?!?. Spiderwebs all over the ceiling and windows. Multiple spiders were found in the cabinets were the dishes were at. Trash under the sofas (even clothes and flip flops from previous guests) bed sheets did not smell clean at all. The washer and dryer have a disgusting odor.
Communication: ONE response took over 21 hours! It wasn’t even Thanksgiving for them to not be open. When calling on the day of checkout because I wanted to know about where to leave a key the guy said “well it should lock itself I don’t understand what your issue is” very rude. Trash cans were filled to the top not allowing us to throw away any trash. When asked to re send an email NO RESPONSE was made.
It is not TWO days after out checkout and I get a call from a lady asking about a rug that was moved. We didn’t even move a rug. Yet, she claims “you damaged our house” We did move the pool table yet she claims we damaged the house. I let her talk about her issues and when I was trying to talk she didn’t let me. My family was disappointed at the stay. They said “leave a bad review people need to know about this” yet I wanted to give these people the benefit of the doubt. This stay was the worst decision ever. I looked up these people on Google and the reviews are right! They’re too full of them selfs that they believe they’re always right. Do your research on this place before you book please! DONT GO BASED OF WHAT REVIES SAY ON HERE!
Also they claim that booking with them will be way cheaper than booking with any third party.
We had a great time in Arnold - the accommodations were clean and comfortable and we loved the game room! It's also great being so close to the tennis and basketball courts. We had a great time and look forward to coming back next year!
Our family of 5 and the teenagers friend had a wonderful stay for Memorial Day weekend. There was lots of room and games for the 6 of us. We were able to make a bog meal at the house as they are stocked with all you need, but the restaurants in Arnold are also just 2 minutes away. It was so easy to get to Big Trees for hiking or Murphy’s & Columbia for some local fun. We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend in the mountains.
Property is beautiful with hot tub and kids game room. However, living room looked pretty big in pictures than it is. But ideal for 2-3 families with extra beds. Kitchen is fully loaded with dishware and silverware. There are few basic spices in kitchen.
Not as roomy as we expected, though lots of amenities
Easy check-in, clean, and well-stocked. Hot tub was clean, plenty of gas in the grill.
Not as roomy as we expected but had enough beds for 4 adults and 6 children.
Had to turn ON the water for washing machine, not sure why they would leave it closed.
Tony (property manager of Blue Lake Springs HO) let us use the tennis courts even though it doesn't open till Memorial Day (we were there in April); that was nice because we brought our tennis racquets!
My family and I spent the weekend in this wonderful listing to celebrate our mother’s birthday. The place is incredibly spacious and there are so many great amenities. Between the hot tub, game room, and all the board games available at the listing, there was never a dull moment for our family. It’s truly the perfect place to stay-in and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. The home was spotless and we felt safe and comfortable with the level of cleanliness we observed.
Only thing I would call out is that if you are planning to travel here during the COVID-19 crisis, many people did not wear masks in restaurants and in the grocery store in town. If this makes you uncomfortable, I’d recommend bringing up your own groceries and cooking all your own meals. We had planned to go to a restaurant one night and even called ahead to ask about precautions that were being taken, but when we arrived, no employees or patrons were wearing masks, and the restaurant was over 100% capacity. We ended up not going through with the reservations and went back to the cabin to cook dinner ourselves. While the restaurant was disappointing, the cabin’s fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare and enjoy all our meals for the weekend. All in all, we were thrilled with this listing and would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice getaway.
