This place was perfect for two families going to Bear Valley for some ski racing this past weekend. Tons of beds and space. The kitchen was outfitted and the place was immaculate. We had so much fun there and a lot had to do with the comfortable and inviting space that Dave provided.

Great spacious cabin in a very quiet area. The extras made it special, from the provided equipment which made it special for my daughter playing in the front, to the drum set that my boys could not stop playing, this was a cool experience. We were minutes from tall trees state park which made a great day trip and then hanging out playing games with the family at the cabin, everything was perfect. Property was clean and comfortable, made for a great getaway for the weekend. The host was very accommodating and helpful with everything we needed. We can’t wait to visit again!

Had to cancel due to a big storm that closed the roads and made travel too dangerous in the Sierra but the host was exceptional! We were in frequent communication and he really had our safety and best interest in mind. We rescheduled the trip and the family is anxious to enjoy the time at the property in the near future.

The storm was bad, it shut down power in the region for 5 days. There was downed trees. The roads were closed two days into the guest stay, so they could not access the cabin. I also could not get cleaners in there. The local roads where not plowed. There was at least 5 feet of snow. I communicated early on to the guest that there was an oncoming storm and had clear communication on the status, and at one point decided mutually to cancel. I am happy the guest rebooked. Note the cabin did have power because of the generator. In the end it worked out and the guest rebooked. I thank Michael for the positive review in a difficult situation.

Four of us (all adults) stayed, and had a wonderful time! The place was clean and comfortably set up for guests. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and cookies. The place is very well-stocked with coffee, snacks, and condiments in the fridge. The upstairs loft is a huge game room and a great place for kids to hang out. David was easy to communicate with, and very responsive. Thank you David for your hospitality. We’ll be back!

The host David is great! Lots of communication to make sure we had everything we needed and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. The Den was clean, warm, inviting, and most importantly relaxing. I can't praise this host and location enough. Everything for our extended family visit was great. Don't hesitate to book this one! We stayed over Thanksgiving week 2025 and were able to easily cook up Thanksgiving dinner in the well stocked kitchen. We will definitely be back.

This cabin felt like home, only better! It was very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had a great stock of all the necessary items to cook full meals. My boys loved the provided snacks as well! We stayed over Christmas and Dave made sure to have lights on the deck railing to spread Christmas cheer the moment we pulled into the driveway. I was concerned about my son driving up alone and he assured me by sending step by step directions. He also checked in on us via text when weather was a concern. Overall, it was a very nice cabin and I would highly recommend!

We had a nice time in this property. Weather was very nice even though it was peak summer. The property is surrounded by trees and that helped to stay cool in the night. Lot of games to play in the house, community swimming pool and outdoor games nearby.

Wonderful family vacation!

We had a wonderful time playing games, hanging out, fishing hiking, using the pool. Highly recommend Dave’s Den. Dave was extremely helpful prior to and during our stay. He was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had and made everything just right. He really does want his guest to feel welcome and have a nice time. We will be back!

We had a small family reunion with three generations--from 3-70 yrs old. Dave's house was a fit for all. We especially appreciated the extremely well-stocked kitchen--from tools and utensils to staples and treats. It made fun family meals convenient and enjoyable.The surrounding area was peaceful and gorgeous. And, of course, the location is just the best home base for day trips to lakes, hikes, caverns and Columbia old west fun. Great stay!

Dave's Den is a spectacular cabin nestled in the beautiful forest near Big Trees state park and Bear Valley. It really was a perfect spot for our family group of 7 to have an autumn getaway. The house is very comfortable with plenty of space to spread out and then gather together around games, playing pool, cooking, or watching tv. We loved the bear and forest animal decor and each room had so many thoughtful touches. The beds are super comfortable. The loft area was spacious and we had a lot of fun at the pool table, and even tried out the drum set! Kitchen was well stocked and we did all our cooking at the house. Dave is a very responsive host. We even had a brief power outage but the generator kicked in to where we didn't even notice it. This is definitely one of our better experiences with a vacation rental and we hope to come back!

Dave was super communicative. Very easy to deal with, very helpful and available. We didn’t need him for anything at all, from the time we booked until we were in the cabin he was available. He even checked in to make certain all was well. And it was, even better than the listing suggested.

Great Stay & Great Host!

David could not have been a better host! He was understanding and very communicative throughout the entire process. The cabin was thoughtfully furnished with so many games, kids toys, and even an electronic drum set. Our two boys loved playing with all the toys, and the legos and building sets kept them busy for days. We also used the winter tubes and sleds provided by David to go sledding. We will definitely go back next year and are already looking forward to it!

Splendid!!!

Can’t say enough about how great our stay was at Dave’s Den. Super clean inside, plenty of space for two families with big kids and room to spare. The bonus room with the poker table, pool table, darts, and drum set were so awesome, and not just for the kids. It’s about a 35 minute drive to Bear Valley for skiing. Leaving by 8:15 gets you to the slopes by 9:00 in plenty of time. Dave was extremely communicative and even left us surprise welcome treats. We would definitely come back. Thanks for everything, Dave.

This neighborhood has cabins that are larger than Arnold, and further apart. Camp Connell is slightly higher elevation than Arnold and stays cooler, it also will get more snow in the Winter

Big Trees Village is a big amenity - there are 10 passes for the guest. You can walk their or short drive. They have two pools, all sorts of courts and games and picnic area. Great place to cool off.
