Historic cottage by Holland State Park and Lake Michigan
This vintage beach cottage is located in the sand dune hills of Historic Ottawa Beach resort area. Bike paths, sidewalks and board walks surround this cottage giving you access to Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. Walk down the hill and go to the General Store, climb Mt. Pisgah, or walk along the channel into the state park and watch the boats go by. Go the other direction and walk along the upper or lower board walk until you get to the sandy beach of Lake Michigan. Enjoy the sun and surf and don't forget to stay for at least one of our magnificent sunsets.
Please note that there are 2 parking spaces designated for this cottage. The walk from the parking area to the cottage is about 100 ft. I have 2 extra parking passes if needed for another parking area a little farther away.

Was our second stay here. Family of 6, with 4 kids from 10-13. All had a wonderful time. House is perfect, short walk to beach and to general store for ice cream. Will stay again for sure. Thank you!
We had beautiful weather for our late September stay so were able to enjoy the relaxing back porch and lovely view. The house accommodated our group of nine really well. It was a very cool old house. Could use a bit of a dusting on the knick knacks and corners, and I don't suggest coming in in the dark. With the way the parking is and where the house is located, we struggled a bit. The walk to the parking lot isn't huge, but you do need to be prepared for carrying your luggage from there. The neighborhood is lovely, but there's one grumpy neighbor who informed us not to unload in front of her house (which took us literally one minute to get groceries out). But plenty of other waving neighbors as we drove by.
We had a wonderful time in Holland and the cottage was perfect for our family . The check in process was easy and the house was very clean. We would definitely stay in this home again when we are back in Holland
The house is beautiful and very accommodating for all guests! It is in walking distance from the lake and is a perfect distance. Harriet was great and was very helpful when we had questions. Amazing communication!
Location was excellent and was peaceful and quiet. It was a short walk, or drive, to the beach. Everything we needed was there except it would be good to provide shower soap in both bathrooms and not just shampoo.

Lovely historic cottage in a unique setting of associated historic cottages. Wonderful screened porch. Only drawback was the poor queen bed mattress upstairs.
We had a great stay and the location was excellent. We enjoyed lots of time at the beach and biking on the bike paths. Some furnishings and fixtures could use a bit of repair, but that’s to be expected in an older home. Overall it fit our needs very well.
The accommodations were relaxing. The deer were somewhat thrilling. If I had read about the approach to the property before we got there it would have been more enjoyable. Nice, clean surroundings. I wish we had stayed longer.
My graduated from a college in the area. We came from out of town as well as my two sons. It was a perfect meeting place. The location by the beach was amazing!
Wonderful location. Very cute vintage but has all the necessities and then some for a wonderful enjoyable stay. Walking distance to favorite ice cream and beach. Was in awe with the vintage artifacts merged with beach theme. Host was very receptive and loved them games and books.
We had a great long weekend here! The home is even nicer in person than it looks in photos. We had plenty of space for our family of five. We spent a lot of time at the beach and riding bikes. The kitchen was well equipped. Thank you, Harriet, for sharing your beautiful home with us!
Lovely cottage near Lake Michigan. We stayed just a couple days, but we had everything we needed. The beach was a short walk and the sunset was gorgeous.
The house was cute and the historic details were fun. The location is absolutely amazing, with a short walk to the beach, ice cream, bike paths, and hiking trails. However, saying that the property is air conditioned is a bit of a stretch. The property has window units, not central air. The main first floor unit is undersized for the square feet needing cooling. Upstairs, the main bedroom had a AC in good working order. One bedroom didn't have AC at all, and the third bedroom had an AC, but it did not really keep the room cold at all, even though the unit said it was set at 64. This was really hard on my 73 year old mother in law, and hard on the complainers in our group :). The dishwasher did not work, something to do with the water not flowing through the tube to the machine (we tried a few ways to fix this with no avail).
Great cute place to stay. Historic home. You park in a lot near the home and walk to the house. No street or garage for parking, but the parking is free and included with the rental. Short walk to the beach and other shops on the main street.
Excellent location and peaceful setting, with easy access to the amenities of and around Ottawa Beach. Loved the screened-in porch with view of woods and Lake Macatawa.
