Mountaineer Cabin 3 - Hot Tub & Fireplace close to New River Gorge National Park
Single-story cabin 7 miles from New River Gorge Bridge in a secluded wooded area. This charming 2-bedroom cabin sleeps 6 with two queen bedrooms, a sleeper sofa, & full bathroom. Full kitchen with open living room. Amenities include private hot tub, grill (propane & charcoal), fireplace, and outdoor fire pit. Front deck has patio swing and rocking chairs. 10-minute drive to Adventures on the Gorge (AOTG), 12 minutes to downtown Fayetteville, & 25 minutes to ACE Adventure Lake.
Our cozy, quaint cabins include two bedrooms with a queen bed and sink with mirror in each room. Living room area has pullout couch and multiple chairs with a 50in smart TV. There is one full bathroom in the unit. We provide towels and linens. Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash is provided. The living room & kitchen area are open with a dining table perfect for groups of 4-6. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and basic cooking utensils. Basic cleaning supplies are provided under the kitchen sink. Each cabin has internet, air conditioning, & parking right beside unit.
Cell phone service in this area may be spotty. We are located in rural West Virginia which has its advantages & disadvantages. Internet is available but can be slow. We are currently working on getting starlink installed in this cabin as of 10/1/25.
Our property has 6 cabins with 2 tucked away completely and the remaining 4 in their own cul-de-sac (Mountaineer Cabins #1-#4). This cul-de-sac is wooded and secluded from the road, however, you will be within eye sight of some of our other cabins. We find them all to be fairly private.
We do not have a washer/dryer listed on our amenities, however, we do have a shared washroom with washer/dryer that guests may use when it is not in use by our cleaning staff. This room is used as a staging area by our cleaning staff to service all 6 of our cabins. During the day at least one of the washer/dryer units is typically in use by our cleaning staff, if not both. Both are generally open during the morning & evening. The wash room is located beside cabin 1, has two washers/dryers, and has laundry supplies that the guests may use free of charge. Please note no washers/dryers are in the cabins. The facilities are available as a curtesy to our guests.
Each cabin has its own private hot tub that is enclosed in a room attached to the cabin. We empty, clean, and refill our hot tubs after each stay. For this reason, there is a chance that the hot tub will not be up to full temperature immediately after checking in, especially if a guest checked out that morning. It generally only takes a couple hours at most but may be a little longer during the colder months. Please do not push hot tub buttons attempting to heat it quicker. Hot tubs have many locks (kid, eco etc…). You may lockout or shutdown the heating process by pushing the wrong button.
Cabin 3 has a real fireplace. All of the cabins have an outdoor fire pit area with a picnic table. Firewood is not provided but is sold at Walmart, Kroger, Lowe’s and the Exxon station by I19. Each cabin has both a propane grill & charcoal grill on the front porch. Propane is included but charcoal is not. Additional propane tanks can be found at our shared washroom area in a closet next to the entry door.
We do allow well-behaved, small-medium sized dogs (50 pounds or less) for a $50.00 additional cleaning fee. No cats. 2 dogs maximum. Guests are expected to dispose of their dogs waste before leaving. There is an outdoor trashcan near the walkway of the cabin. All pets must be listed on the reservation when booking and housebroken. Failure to include your pet in the reservation will result in fines. Guests will be responsible for any damages caused by their pets.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and near enough to park for hiking and town for restaurants. Paul was always quick with responses whenever I had a question. Would recommend staying here.
I have never seen an air b & b provide coffee for guests before. It was honestly a nice touch that I found nice. As well as propane for the grills, plenty of dishes/utensils/cooking equipment. Also, we loved that the host provided shampoo, body wash, and conditioner as well! We are already talking about coming back! Fit our family of 5 comfortably Thank you!!!!
Wonderful! My friends, my pet, and I loved this experience! The cabin was super cute, the fireplace, the jacuzzi! Everything was amazing and the staff were super helpful and quick to respond! The only thing I recommend is that you bring your own firewood, and we couldn't use the Wi-Fi there. But we didn't miss it, because watching the snow fall and enjoying time with friends was wonderful. I highly recommend it.
There was an issue right after we checked in but the property manager was there immediately and fixed the problem. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The cabin was comfy and secluded enough to help us unplug from life for a bit.
This was an amazing stay, very, very, clean compliments to the housekeeper. Hot tub was very clean, we had a problem with heating the tub, management took care of it immediately great service. Loved the cabin, very private - my only complaint is that cabin was not remote enough, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very convenient area to hikes and stores. We love West Virginia and we will be back.
My family had a wonderful stay . I live in North Carolina and my kids live in Pittsburgh. Perfect halfway point for us to meet. Cabin had everything we needed. We will be back!
Very nice, cozy cabin for 2 people. The size accomodated us well overall but the small beds did not make sleeping in the same bed the most comfortable.Cabin has everything needed and advertised. The fireplace, peaceful front porch and hot tub were all favorites of ours.Location can be a bit tricky the first day you arrive especially if at night because the cabins are located up on a hill behind a small body shop on street level. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this cabin.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - the cabin was very clean and as it was described. Great fit for our family of 5! The cabin was perfect to come back to after our active days hiking, horseback riding and rafting. We lost power one night and Paul was very responsive - power ended up only being out for an hour or so. We would definitely stay again, thank you!
Lovely, wooded cabins in Hico. I would stay here again. We got the wrong door code, i think more a Vrbo issue, not the property managers fault. Called the manager and we got in easy.
We really enjoyed our stay and apready plan to book again when we return to NRG.The cabin was a good size for us; 2 adults. A teenager, and a dog.The location was perfect, 10 min drive to the bridge, 15 or less to most trails in the northern area and fayetteville. Thanks for a great place to rest after our days of adventures!
