The Sweet Retreat is located inside Indian Palms Country Club, located within 1 mile from the entrance of the Empire Polo Fields - home of the Coachella Music & Art Festival and Stagecoach Country Music Festival. Whether you come to relax and take in mountain views, play a couple of golf games or enjoy some of the most impressive bands playing at one of the festivals, you are sure to enjoy the design and privacy of this 2,500 sq. ft. beautiful home. Oh, don't forget your pool stick and swimwear!

This beautiful Indian Palms Country Club vacation home is in a private gated community with abundant resort-style amenities and sweeping mountain views. Once the private estate of Hollywood movie studio owner Floyd Odlum and his famous aviator wife Jackie Cochran, the 640-acre estate, now known as Indian Palms Country Club, hosted many of the couple's famous friends, like Amelia Earhart and Presidents Eisenhower and Johnson.

Outdoors: This spacious home offers views of the golf course and the magnificent mountain range from the backyard, with a sparkling splash pool and cascading waterfall spa. The poolside patio has seating for 6, 4 lounge chairs, and a propane gas BBQ grill so you can dine alfresco with friends and family. Enjoy a glass of your favorite wine and watch the sunset over the mountain view.

Occupants of the Short-Term Rental shall be prohibited from using all outdoor amenities and/or engaging in outdoor games or any outdoor activities that create noise between the hours of 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and 10 PM and 8 AM Friday and Saturday.

Indoors: This contemporary vacation home's open floor plan offers gracious entertainment. You'll find designer lighting, comfortable seating areas, stylish furnishings and two Queen sofa sleepers. Enjoy movie time with family or sports with friends as you gather comfortably around the 65-inch HDTV located in the living room. Curl up next to the gas fireplace and enjoy a late-night cocktail. The kitchen in this beautiful vacation home is well-equipped and spacious, with stainless steel appliances, a gas range, and abundant granite countertop prep space. You'll find all the small appliances, service ware, and utensils you'll need to prepare delicious meals for friends and family on your vacation. There is plenty of seating for your guests, from gathering around the island bar and bar stool seating for four guests, pulling up a chair at the kitchen breakfast table with seating for five guests or all coming together for a meal at the dining room table with seating for 10 guests. If you are looking for something to do during some downtime, kick your feet up in one of the two recliners or challenge a family member or friend to a game of pool and watch your favorite sporting event simultaneously in the game room on the 32-inch HDTV. Get a game of ping pong on in the third-car garage. There is a powder room right off the game room as well.

Bedroom Descriptions:
The large Master Suite 1 in this remarkable vacation home features king size bed, a twin sofa sleeper, a 55-inch HDTV, a ceiling fan and views of the pool area and golf course. The attached en-suite bathroom has a walk-in closet, his and hers sinks, a soaking tub and a walk-in shower.

The two guest bedrooms are located at the opposite end of the house from Master Suite 1. Bedroom 2 features a Queen, 55-inch HDTV, reach-in closet and ceiling fan. Bedroom 3 has a King bed, 55-inch HDTV, reach-in closet and ceiling fan. The guest bathroom is between bedrooms 2 and 3 with access from the hallway and includes a private restroom, shower/bathtub combo and a double vanity sink.

Bed and Sleeping Summary: 2 Kings, 1 Queen, 3 Queen Sofa Sleepers, 1 Twin Sofa Sleeper. Sleeps 13.

Other Amenities: WiFi Wireless Internet. High-quality linens, bath and pool towels, and a starter set of L'Occitane shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and toilet paper in each bathroom. The kitchen includes a starter set of paper towels, dish soap, individually wrapped sponges and dishwasher pods. Fully equipped laundry room with washer, dryer, iron, ironing board, and laundry pods. This property also features parking for 6, which includes 3 in the garage, 3 in the driveway, and No Street parking.

Location: The Sweet Retreat is in one of the best locations, minutes from top golf resorts, restaurants, and shopping in La Quinta, just around the corner from the Empire Polo Club, and near La Quinta Resort and Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. Highway 111 is down the street, with Costco, Starbucks, and all the shops along 111. El Paseo is 10 minutes away. Interstate 10 is extremely close, allowing you to quickly head to Palm Springs and other Coachella Valley destinations.

House very clean and comfortable, enjoyed the pool table and ping-pong. Not a fan of locked-down neighborhoods where you have to show papers just to drive in, but that was tolerable.

Very clean and wonderful area. House sits on the second hole of the golf course and is very quiet. Pool area was a little crowded with all of the outdoor furniture, but it was used every morning drinking coffee and every afternoon for drinks. Would reccomend for a getaway. Sweet retreat, aptly named!

This was one of the best rental experiences we have had. As a cook I greatly appreciated the kitchen amenities. The property was as advertised and the management was top notch; the most responsive we’ve ever had. We would recommend this home to anyone and will look for it to be available for our next visit here!

Short weekend stay

We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and found this place super close to the Empire Polo Fields. The pool heater was not functioning when we arrived. The Vacanza Stay staff was very accommodating to our family to help remediate the situation. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family.

The house was well stocked and very comfortable! We had an issue w the jacuzzi and the office staff were wonderful in helping to get it working. We were pleased with the location.. hot air balloons flying in the mornings too! Close to tennis garden for the tourney we were attending.

Comfortable for Large Group

We were a party of 8 ranging from 2+. The layout of the house, pool table, swimming pool, hot tub, ping pong table and multiple tv’s made sure everyone had something to do and able to be comfortable in the space. This was our second time staying and we would absolutely stay again. The booking process was easy and the property manager was very responsive and kind throughout our stay.

My family and I had a great time (stood for the weekend). Lots of space inside the home to hang out and relax. Would definitely stay here again. Only real issue was in one of the bedrooms, the bed was extremely squeaky. Other than that, the house had everything we needed.

Good location, well stocked and pictures were accurate. The pool was BROWN, tons of algae. It was gross and we wanted to swim. Hallway bathroom had a significant leak from the ceiling. Overall still had a good time but these items should have been addressed before we got there.

Enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of space for 8 people, well stocked, clean, quiet area, dealing with property management was quick and easy. Only two small issues: 1) The middle bedroom has a VERY squeaky bed as also mentioned by another reviewer. 2) Even though the on line pictures clearly show a hot tub with jets, the jets do not work. Management told us it was a "dipping spa" (whatever that means) and not a jetted tub. So be aware of that issue if that's important to you. All in all, we had a nice time and would probably return when needed for a larger group.

Great layout but had a few issues

Management company runs this house and although thorough and responsive it’s very corporate. The house could use a deep clean and the owner had service people scheduled to come when we were there. We were notified of the first visit but they came back inside garage without notification. I was there with my 2 young teenagers so the safety concerns were communicated with no response. Overall the space, layout, game tables and kitchen were great but we were never able to get hot tub heated, you have to use an app for a/c etc and the front gate of the community gets backed up for check in. The other gates require to scan your license plate - we had bikes on the back the whole time so were forced to go through main gate each time.

Overall a good stay!

Overall was a good stay. House was as described, host was responsive. My only pieces of feedback center around the overall cleanliness of the floors, and the AC unit in the house. The floors were bad, like turn your feet black bad and I had my pregnant wife, and two kids with me. One was an infant who was crawling, and my 10 year old. So we did not let the baby on the ground, and we washed our feet before bed (yes even after showering). The AC unit was old, and the house functioned off programs. You had to preset all of the programs just to get it to a good temp. After setting it, the house never got below 78 which is tough in Indio. The host made sure you didn’t set it below 74 (mentioned multiple times in the instructions plus house rules) but didn’t ensure the AC worked properly. There were plenty of ceiling fans so that was nice. Amenities were cool! Family liked the pool table, and ping pong. Fridge was ice cold. Filtered water. Plenty of toilet paper. Overall for the price I got a decent deal, but wouldn’t stay again. The biggest turn off was the property management company pre-booking. I never use VRBO and this experience proved why. I had to not only list the names of all my family members including minors, I had to take a pic of my drivers license, sign a bunch of forms, get threatened with fees for using electricity, and consent to a background check after scanning my face.

WARNING - NOT SO SWEET RETREAT

We were joined by friends of ours to the Sweet Retreat for a Wedding Anniversary. We were there from 4/2 to 4/9. If I was able to get my requested refund, we would have stayed from 4/2 to 4/3. There was a LONG LIST of items that needed the VRBO attention, and they were called and told about each one of the issues. They offered to have a “repair person” come out to fix the issues, however, we lost a day waiting for them to arrive. They came by on the 3rd day and came in, looked at left. NOTHING was fixed. Issue 1: This house was HOT. We were not allowed (per VRBO rules) to change the temperature from what was showing as 74, however, it felt more like 99 degrees inside! The air went OFF each evening at 9:00 PM and didn't come back on until after 7:00AM the next day. The main bedroom was being utilized by our Anniversary friends, so my husband and I had the "second bedroom" which was NOT an ensuite as described in the VRBO listing. It was so incredible HOT in that little room when the air turned off – that sleeping was next to impossible! Issue 2: Refrigerator Freezer door did not close (seal) completely. This created the refrigerator to not get as cold as a refrigerator should. The frozen items that we had purchased were destroyed (could not freeze) and had to be thrown out. The refrigerator did not make ice (broken) so we had to buy ice daily (as it would not freeze in the freezer). We had to throw out food in the refrigerator as it didn’t keep the food cold – so that food was wasted, and we ended up eating out on most days. Issue 3: There was a broken window in the living room (something the VRBO was already aware of) and our outdoor pool time was interrupted while the window people came out and measured the window. There was no “notice” that someone would be out – so we were inconvenienced by the “surprise”. Issue 4: We opened the first dresser drawer to put out clothes away when we first arrived. The entire front of the drawer came off! We were not able to use that dresser at all and had to use the very tiny (3rd bedroom bed) as a place to store our clothes. We attempted to use the drawer in the 3rd bedroom, but the 2nd drawer was also damaged and off the runner, so using that drawer would have caused further damage. That too was reported to the VRBO. Issue 5: The bathroom that serviced bedrooms 2 & 3 had a shower curtain that had rusty curtain rings. The plastic interior shower curtain was dirty and ripped. Waste of $
