We arrived and the rooms hadn't been cleaned, and towels/sheets were still on the floor. The host wasn't responsive to calls or messages where we provided pictures of the rental's condition. 5 stars to Vrbos customer service who very quickly helped us find alternative housing when the host didn't respond. We received a (very) brief apology from the host the day after, which was the only contact we had with them nearly a day after reaching out for support. We'd definitely use Vrbo again given their excellent customer service, but would not return to this rental.

Completely not true. Retalitory review from someone who wanted something for nothing. The cleaning crew was late but we were on it. Guest wanted to hear nothing. We tried to overly compensate but apparently they were offended we didn't offer 00% free stay for late cleaning.
Apartment was nice, good communication with property owner. Location is close to LSU and restaurants but wouldn’t recommend walking.

Thanks again for visiting. With this extreme heat advisory I wouldn't walk to LSU. It's just under 2 miles. But the River Center, Old State Capital, USS Kidd, 13th gate and the beginning of 3rd street with all the restaurants and bars are only 2-3 blocks. Even with the heat those places and more are definitely walkable..
Very convenient and safe location. Walkable around downtown with easy parking. Very comfy home away from home with well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. Mattress and pillows were very comfy. Very responsive host. Would stay again!
The complex is within 20 minutes of practically everything, theres food places walking distance, and a corner store across the street . 10/10 sn: its a little confusing to find at first, but once you do, you can’t miss it again !
Had my sister and her husband join me and my wife for a LSU baseball game and it was absolutely perfect for the four of us. Place was clean and well equipped for our needs. We will definitely check the availability for future LSU games or events in Baton Rouge.
I really didn't like it. Don't think I would book it again. Not having to communicate with the property manager was okay with me.

Wow. It's been over 3 years since I've received a review less than 4/5. This guy was sent a message to please let us know when you arrive so we know you got in ok. NOTHING, No response. We sent a message asking the guest to check the place out upon arrival and let us know if we missed something since we turn the properties over often. NOTHING, No response. Even when leaving, NOTHING. The guy not only didn't say there was any problem but didn't communicate with us AT ALL. We are the most visited vacation rental address in Baton Rouge for a reason. I don't make it a habit to speak negatively about guests but will speak up when they give ridiculous, unwaranted reviews. I find people who are willing to says things as guest are never pleased so I wouldn't recommend any host rent to him. You may bee the next host whose property gets bashed.

Hit and Miss
Walked into a mess. They did not clean up the place from the prior stay. 1 roll of toilet paper, 3 clean towels, no clean sheets , dishes in sink , trash piled up. Owner ghosted us. Had to go to Walmart to buy clean sheets and get some cheap towels. It’s you basic musty smelling college quality place. Only 1 air conditioner worked. Fridge could barely keep up, some microwave buttons didn’t work. Only good thing was location to convention center we were bowling.
VRBO lists the unit as having three queen beds. It only has 2 beds. I spoke with the owner, who was not aware that it was listed as such. None of his units have 3 beds. However, he was able to resolve our issues.

Mimi was correct about the listing saying 3 beds even though all the pictures clearly showed 2. It was a VRBO issue for changing their site and there being confusion. I'm a little dissapointed in the rating however. What Mimi didn't mention is because I own the building I gave her an additional unit with extra bathroom and kitchen. All of which was used. I would think that would have over compensated for the simple error. Anyone else would have had to cancel the reservation and issue a refund but I didn't have to do that. We do our best every time to try to solve any issue that arise.

This was the perfect location for us. We were bowling in the national tournament and we were a 5 minute walk from the Raising Canes Event Center.
The apartment was clean, well maintained, and the parking was easy, free and also properly maintained.
Paul, the host, was quick to respond to questions and kept us well informed prior to arrival. Access was quick an easy.
This is in the downtown area so like in any city, there are a few homeless around but not on the property and not invasive or threatening.
We had no reservations walking around the area in any direction. There is a convenience store on the corner half a block away so that was a nice perk.
There is a nice quiet courtyard and garden at the location just outside the apartment door.
We had a great stay and would highly recommend this location and host.
If you are going to the Raising Canes Event Center, the parking is terrible if you drive a taller vehicle since it will not fit in the Canes garage parking. Thus, being able to park this close and safely walk was a real benefit.
I would expect something different to give 5 stars. We have traveled a lot so have experience to compare. First impressions as I walked in the door was a bad odor and water on the kitchen floor. Notified owner upon entry, it did dry up but he didn’t come to look at it-possibly a common issue?,Owner said there are no odors, yet an air freshener is sitting on the air conditioner unit. I bought more air fresheners to tolerate it for the week, dishwasher but no soap, tub was old and stained, good things-towels, bedding, pots/pans, missing a can opener, microwave some buttons don’t work,bed/pillows comfortable, hangers in closet,washer/dryer on property but room it’s in is filthy, suggest a laundry basket to cart clothes to washer, bath towels smelled sour, carpet needs shampoo, stove needs leveling ,kitchen drawer had food debris and utensils had food on them, kitchen table wobbled and seems to need leveling, missing closet doors, generally needs a deep clean,non-working fire alarms, windows won’t open in bedroom so a fire concern, broken dresser drawers, holes in the walls

Not a good neighborhood for families
Paul was very quick to reply to any questions during booking process. Upon checking in, there was no key to laundry/vending room. The property manager was made aware the first day, but we never received the key. Because of this, we ran out of towels and had to buy new ones to use. Given the location of this property, I would not have been comfortable venturing out to the laundry room anyway. On more than one occasion, there were men appearing to be inebriated hanging out in the parking lot. Upon entering the apartment, the damp basement/mold like smell was very strong. On the second night, my daughter who suffers from allergies, developed nose bleeds. I also saw a cockroach in the bathroom running up the wall. The whole apartment needs a good cleaning, top to bottom. We cut our stay 2 nights short and gave up after all of that. The only good thing I can really say is the location is within walking distance to the attractions noted in the listing (but I sure wouldnt walk around at night!)

Good Morning Lori. I'm in an unusual position to respond to a negative review like yours because out of the over 700 reviews across all sites your rating would be in a small percent. So let me address a couple of things. If you requested a key and didn't receive one I would have called back to remind the manager certainly before buying towels or rags. As you've seen in the bathroom we also have double curtain rods to hang wet towels. We find travelers who are climate consious want to hang there towels to dry instead of using new one each time. However, we have plenty of towels and would gladly bring you others. As far as someone hanging out in parking lot, we do have other guests that stay with us so it could have been another guest but I wouldn't know for sure. As you see in the parking lot everything is marked reserved so we don't usually have any issues with people hanging out who aren't staying with us. We did check the damp smell you spoke of and found a sink pipe leaking so it wet the cabinet under the sink. We addressed that immediately.. Now we have many other units in the building and had you mentioned anything to us that you were concerned about we could have done something about it. But we don't know sometimes when a guest sees something that needs to be addressed. Now, I do take offense to you saying the area "appears" to be unsafe. Of the hundreds of reviews on all our properties in the same location we have almost a 100% 5 star for that part of the listing. We are only a couple of blocks from the City, District, and Federal courts along with the Governmental building. The Raising Canes River Center is one block away as is a Casino Hotel. Our part of Downtown is among the most guarded. But not knowing the area I can see you feeling the way you do. Thanks for your review even though I can't completely agree, but it does give us something to look at to improve for other guests.
This was a great place to stay and an easy walk to the historic downtown area. Paul responded to all of my questions and was very helpful.
It's a short drive, but if your looking for good food, I would recommend Parrain's Seafood Restaurant.
We had a rough start to our stay but Paul showed genuine concern over the issue. He gives you his cell # to be sure you are satisfied. We left for dinner and by the time we returned, everything was remedied and perfect. It’s really a great place and very convenient location. Thank you Paul for making sure our weekend was enjoyable. We sure did. Would definitely stay again.

Edit Profile My Louisiana roots run deep from the founding of the state. Yes, I've got the Cajun blood running through my veins. I enjoy travel, exploring new places, good music and especially good food. I'm always open to new experiences.
Setting up my place to share with Airbnb guest was a no-brainer. The downtown Baton Rouge scene has changed a lot over the years and has become the new HOTSPOT again. I can direct you to all the local attractions and the best restaurants around for your taste pallet.
I set my first unit up August 2016 and it became so popular I set up a second, a third, until now I hav 5 units in the same building all unique. The units were set up like I would want in a stay to make it a little more comfortable and special.. I provide super comfortable beds with great linens and pillows as well as oversized luxury collection towels. I installed spa like shower head and hand held sprayer. I found a special brand of soaps, shampoos and conditioner, Matrix, exclusive for Wyndham collection for my guests to use.
I enjoy my hometown teams, LSU and the New Orleans Saints, but won't hold anything against you for supporting your favorite teams. My spot is minutes up the road from LSU.
I'm in the real estate and mortgage businesses so I'm pretty much available all the time. If I'm tied up I certainly get back with you asap. I try to give guests space unless you need something and I'm there.
So with all that said you can book my place with confidence you'll get the most out of your visit to Baton Rouge.
Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful visit.

What makes this property unique
