This stunning pet friendly executive home in Meadowmont is full of style, comfort and fun! The Varela Mountain House boasts 2700 square feet of custom amenities including a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, fully equipped kitchen, enormous living room with vaulted ceilings, rec room with pool table, private hot tub on the back deck, air hockey and wet bar, central heating and air conditioning (downstairs only), heated bathroom floors, and a luxurious master suite with exquisite fixtures and heated jet tub with LED lights. Enjoy accommodations for 15 guests year-round with completely level access, plenty of parking and snow removal contract in the winter. You will find yourself only a short drive from shopping, dining, and local entertainment like Big Trees State Park, Bear Valley Ski Resort, and many beautiful local public lakes! Enjoy a day in Murphys too (only 20 minutes away) where you will find exquisite restaurants and over 23 wine tasting rooms right along Main Street.

This home is a true mountain gem! Bedrooms: Varela Mountain House is a two-story home that accommodates 15 guests in 4 bedrooms. The first three bedrooms are located upstairs. The first is the Master bedroom with a King bed and Queen bed, the second bedroom has a Queen bed, the third bedroom has 2 Bunk Beds each with Twin over Fulls. The fourth bedroom is on the main floor with 1 Twin over Full bunk bed. This home has 2 full bathrooms (upstairs) and one half-bathroom (main floor).

Private Hot tub, air hockey, foosball, basketball arcade, basketball hoop, TV, master suite with attached bathroom, central heat, air conditioning (downstairs only), woodstove, fenced yard for Fido (firewood provided), gas BBQ (propane provided) (propane provided), washer, dryer, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, dishwasher, and coffee maker. Linens and towels are included. Level driveway and lot.

Maximum 15 guests. 2 Dogs permitted with pet fee, Private Hot Tub (serviced before and after each guest). No smoking, no check-ins on Easter Sunday or Christmas Day.

Enjoyed our stays!

We had our young adult retreat in Arnold and this house is located at a great spot providing easy access to shops and trail. It was really clean and spacious for our fellowship.

4th of July family get together

The house is great for families, lots for kids to do. Fun activities close by. The kids loved the game room and everyone enjoyed the spa. The beds are a bit uncomfortable and it would be nice to leave extra pillow cases and blankets for guests who would like them. The kitchen had everything needed but some pieces need updates as well. Flatwear was in rough shape and knives were dull. Our pups came with us and the property was great for dogs traveling with the family. Property manager was very responsive.Thank you for hosting us.

Great house for multiple families

Our group enjoyed our stay at Varela Mountain House. There is plenty of room for little kids, teens and adults to all co-exist under one roof. The game room was a hit and the comfy living room was great for movie nights. Plenty of storage as well.The house could use more silverware, plates and bowls; it wasn’t an issue for us because we brought our own disposable items, but I could see it being a problem for others.All in all, we had a great time and hope to return!

Beautiful Arnold Cabin

Beautiful family getaway cabin. We loved the level access into this cabin. We’ve rented many cabins in Arnold and this was definitely our favorite. We played lots of games, watched movies, spent time on the back deck and hot tub. Took a short drive the White Pines Lake for the day. It truly was a wonderful few days with out family.

Great Spot for Girls Weekend

We had such a lovely time, the house was the perfect spot to get away while still being close to Murphy's for some dining and wine tasting. We did have a visit from the sheriff, apparently the left side of the driveway is not a part of the property. Having more distinct parking instructions or a clearer marker of the property line would be helpful for future guests.

Family fun

This house was perfect for our large family. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and three bathrooms was perfect. The game room kept everyone entertained. The heated floors in the bathroom was a treat. If I had to make any recommendations, I would suggest providing towels for the hot tub and extra towels for the kitchen. The bed we slept on in the master bedroom, so comfortable!!! But the kids said their beds were not. We will for sure come back!!! With or without the kids ;)

Great house for families

We (4 adults, 4 children and two dogs) really enjoyed the house. It was in a great location with grocery store not far away. There was plenty of rooms for everyone. All four kids had their own room! There was a closet full of kids toys. I loved the front yard being fenced in but the dogs had to go out the front door to go outside. I wish there were more board games, cards or puzzles for families to play. The kitchen needs new/more silverware, better knives, cookie sheets and spatulas. The beds were TERRIBLE, the bunk beds were ok, the master and single bed room were lumpy old and very very uncomfortable. The uncomfortable beds would be the ONLY reason we wouldn’t go back.

Great space and stay but...

The kitchen was bare. We had 9 forks for 17 people. No paper towels to start either. The smoke alarm was pulled off from the wall (and I need it for my cooking. haha). and the bare minimum of blankets and towels. Lastly - the process with cedar creek to drop key at the end of the day is a drag. back tracking and one extra step. but in regards to making memories and a great space, 100%!! Just come a little more prepared :)

Long mountain weekend

Overall stay was good. Kids had a great time at the house. We had six teenagers and 5 year old. There was plenty of beds for all the kids and adults. The master has a wonderful bathtub. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and the deck. We ate outside every night with plenty of space on the deck. Cons of the house, the fridge did not work so we had to put everything in the garage fridge. Minor inconvenience not that big but the cleaning crew did not do the best job there were dirty socks in one of the outside planters and some old socks in the master bedroom. The deck is in need of a lot of repairs be careful walking on it bare footed as a lot of nails are popped up and cane hurt your feet. Especially if you have little ones. The kitchen need’s upgraded pots and pans. Other than those minor things it’s a great place for a large family and friends.

Nice Mtn Home with appliances not working

Great experience. The house is ample and comfortable with great beds, great deck and great kitchen. Huge living room with many amenities When we arrived we found out that Kitchen Fridge not working. (Compressor is gone ). And also the Dryer not working. Both issues should have been reported to us prior to our arrival and not late when we already had the full family at this home. Fortunately, they had already installed a spare fridge found inside the garage. Not sure why home was rented before doing full testing on all appliances and disclosing the renters of their status Please next time test all your appliances and make sure all working in good condition. Overall we are very happy and loved this home and we do recommend staying at this gorgeous Arnold Mountain House. Thank you !! We hope to come back in the future.

Decent Property

Overall our stay was pretty good but there were several things that kept us from rating this property At check in, I was given the incorrect keys twice before finally receiving the correct ones for the property we were staying at. Not major, but was a slight inconvenience. The pictures on the listing showed a couch that was different from what was in the home. The couch blocked the living room flow and made it difficult to have conversations with others. The game area was also right next to the living room, so any time the air hockey or basketball games were being used, it was hard to speak to one another in the living room or hear the tv because they make a lot of noise. The pictures showed that there was a laundry room, but we didnt have access to it during our stay. We only saw a washer or dryer sitting unplugged in the garage. We were unable to get the stove to work and had to adjust our mealplan. It would turn on but then would shut off before heating up. The deck outside is in need of updating and we anticipated that it would have been dusted off prior to our arrival. The tables and chairs were full of dust and we had to clean before being able to use them. The deck itself felt very old and there were several boards popping up with nails sticking out. The railing also didnt seem sturdy in certain areas so it didnt feel super safe for the little kids to walk around. It also could have been bigger since the cabin is supposed to be able to accomodate 15 people.

Beautiful home close to everything in Arnold. Plenty of room for 3 families! Great kitchen and hot tub. Loved the game room! The bed situation is a bit awkward but we worked it out. The lake in town was perfect! We even saw a bear right across the street going into the neighbor’s garage!!

Perfect for family gathering…

Had an amazing weekend stay with 11 adults, 4 kids, and 1 dog. This house is beautiful, large, and comfortable. We spent so much time in the game room playing pop a shot and foosball. The hot tub was very relaxing. Just an overall enjoyable and relaxing stay. Pros: TVs in every room, there was a dog crate (this is an underrated perk that should be highlighted and called out in the listing. We wouldn’t have packed our crate had we known.), grill, hot tub, games, lots of natural light, two car garage. Cons: We didn’t like that the only gated area was in the front of the house that meant the dog was either in the front by herself or in the house, she couldn’t be with us while we hung out in the back deck and hot tub. There were any included shampoo, lotion, or body soap. The pool table/air hockey combo was broken so the table doesn’t lock. That meant we could get by with the air hockey but impossible to play pool. Overall, would totally stay here again. We’ve already talked about wanting to do an annual stay here.

Wonderful house for a family vacation!

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration at the Varela house. The rooms are larger than they look in pictures, the kitchen had plenty of cookware and utensils, the games were fun, couches were comfy, there were even a few luxurious features like a heated bathroom floor.

Let loose get away

The place was beautiful, most definitely enough space for everyone! Was definitely roomy. Kids had a blast with the game room. The tv in the game room didn’t work. Or the remotes didn’t have batteries. Wasn’t too big of a deal for us tho, we just enjoyed music. And did movie time in the living room. Kinda annoying there is not extra paper towels in the kitchen. But again not that big of a deal we brought some from home with us. Also would have been nice to supply shampoo and conditioner and soap. But we also just brought our own. It was just a few little things that were a bummer. But not a deal breaker, tv up stairs in the one queen room didn’t work or we just had a hard time figuring out. But that guest didn’t mind she just used her laptop. Washer and dryer made life a bit easier for us. Hot tub was great! Kids enjoyed that also! Again overall we had a blast, would definitely stay here again! Memories were definitely made! Thanks again!

Perfect family getaway

We have been sheltering-in-place for months and needed a change of scenery! This house was PERFECT! On the trip was 6 adults and 4 kids (ages 3-7). The foosball table, air hockey/pool table, and basketball games were fun for everyone! The family room was huge!!! We played games, watched tv/movies, and just relaxed and spent quality family time together. All 10 of us fit with room to spare in the family room. The hot tub at the end of the day was a hit with the adults while the kids ran around with water guns having a water fight. The kids loved the bunk beds and the kitchen was stocked with every utensil/gadget you might need. Beautiful house and we’re all in agreement it was the perfect family getaway to safely spend time together. The only small downside was that the beds weren’t the most comfortable, but we didn’t care. We were having too much fun!
