Our stay was fantastic. The house was easy to find and in an ideal location just near the center of Ocean Isle beach. We were able to walk to eat and were just across the street from the beach access which also had public restrooms. The home was very clean and accommodated us perfectly. We will definitely be back!

Our friends stayed at this same home several times, so we were familiar with the layout and location. It was clean, super convenient to the beach and the center of OIB and had everything we needed for our week long stay. Stephanie is super responsive, friendly and helpful as the owner. This is our third time at Ocean Isle Beach, second time at this house. It’s a wonderful location and it’s like a home away from home for us, the kids and the grandkids. Beach time in the morning, pool time in the afternoon. Tough to beat. Hosts are great!

Wonderful Getaway

We had a wonderful getaway from the coronavirus pandemic to this beautiful home on OIB! Everything was perfect, from the beautiful home, to the well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, to the pool which provided many memorable moments. The location is perfect, walking distance to shops, restaurants, arcades, mini golf, ice cream, and the pier. I have been going to OIB for 30 years and am not sure I have ever had a better experience, we will definitely be staying at this home again!

We had a great time and would recommend this property! Very child-friendly house. Easy and close walk to the beach. A beach view from the back upper porch and dining room. Nice backyard and pool. The wall switch labels was a great touch! Wish we could have stayed longer.

15th anniversary

We loved our stay. The house was so clean and the location is perfect. Anything that was wrong the owners took care of immediately. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting OIB. There were an abundance of seating at the pool, beach supplies like umbrellas and beach chairs, extra propane for the grill if needed. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Stephanie

Summer Vaca

We had a great week at Sugar Aisle! The location couldn't be better. We were able to easily walk to all the fun OIB has to offer with kids (aged 6-8). Beach chairs and wagon provided allowed us to travel with less. The pool was great to take a break from the sand. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was clean. We will definitely stay again in the future!

We had a great time in Ocean Isle and this house was perfect! Even better than advertised. Having the pool was nice and the ocean is literally steps away. It’s such a central location. Everything we needed was right in the area. The house is situated so that you have great views in any direction. Stephanie and Lee were great to work with. We will definitely be back!!

WONDERFUL Vacation Home, Great Location, Just Perfect!

My family and I had such a wonderful stay at Lee and Stephanie's vacation home. The house was perfect for our family of 4. The location of their home is fantastic and you can walk to everything on the Isle. The beach access is literally across the street. The beds were comfy, and everything was very clean when we arrived. My only complaint is that we didn't have more time to spend there! The week flew by so quickly. Thank you again for letting us stay at your home and we hope we are able to visit again!

Great house! Cleaning company needs to be more thorough. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and appliances. Beds were ok. Living area was nice. Loved the bikes and beach chairs already being there. Wish the pool could be heated as we stayed in October and it was too cold to use even with the days being in the 80’s.

The house is so beautiful and pool. I went with family and friends. We are like it. House is not far from beach, just 2-3 minutes walking. We had an electric runout, we couldn’t find an electric control so we ask host. They replied immediately. I would recommend this house.

Had an amazing trip to Ocean Isle Beach. We were able to walk nearly every where we went...Museum, beach, drinks, ice cream, lunch/dinner, waterway and shopping. The deck was perfect to hang out on and enjoy the beautiful weather (when we weren't on the beach). We had view of the beach and able to keep an eye on the kids in the pool. Our BEST stay ever at Ocean Isle!

We are frequent visitors to Ocean Isle Beach as we love its friendly, family oriented character. The Sugar Aisle is our favorite!!!! The location is perfect. We were 3 to 5 minutes from everything- the pier, the children's museum, putt-putt, ice cream, restaurants, the playground and the beach. Although it was too cool for a dip in the pool this trip, we loved sitting around it during the day and lighting it up at night for ambiance. We will be back.The owners had everything you need for a perfect stay- very comfortable beds, spacious rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, open living and dining area, WIFI, linens and towels. Thank you. We enjoyed another very memorable stay at Ocean Isle. We can't wait to book this house again. A++++++++

Overall A Good Trip

Loved the location! The only negative I would say would be there were TONS of sad spurs all throughout the carpet and opening and closing the blinds to access the porches was a challenge as they seemed to be broken. Also, we could not access the closet with the beach chairs, etc. as neither the house key nor the storage closet lock box key worked on the top lock. There were a few other things but overall we enjoyed our stay and thank you for having us:) Sincerely, Jennifer Crews

Hi! We're Lee and Stephanie Styers, based in Raleigh, NC with a young son (Dylan), dog (Dobby) and cat (Butters). In 2010, we went abroad to teach English as a Second Language in a small town in Thailand, and haven't stopped traveling the world since. While traveling and staying in many different places from hostels to BnBs, we've taken note of what makes a place positively memorable, comfortable and feel like a home away from home. We're excited to take our travel experiences to create The Sugar Aisle, a genuinely special place at OIB!

Why the name "The Sugar Aisle"? - we were at the grocery store one day when Stephanie asked Lee "is this the sugar aisle"? Lee, confused, said "no, I think the sugar is a few rows over"... then he realized that Stephanie was playfully asking for a kiss on the cheek! Later that evening, Stephanie remarked that "if we ever have a beach house, we should call it The Sugar Aisle". And thus a dream was born...

Why they chose this property

Though we've been to every continent (except Antarctica), Ocean Isle Beach is by far our favorite home away from home! Lee's parents used to own a small deli (Ocean Twist Deli) that he spent several summers working at, making gourmet sandwiches during the day and heading to the beach afterwards. As we were planning our future together, we always dreamed of owning our own Ocean Isle Beach home for our young growing family to come spend sunny summers and relaxing off-season weeks at!

What makes this property unique

We have always valued being in a central location that's easy walking distance to everything we want to do - The Sugar Aisle is just that! This house happens to also be so incredibly comfortable inside with furniture made for lounging and curling up with a good book, inviting outdoor rocking chairs that overlook the ocean, and a pool reminiscent of a Palm Springs resort. We immediately felt a happy and loving energy with this home and knew it was the perfect spot at OIB!
