The place is nice, very spacious… perfect for mom n dad & the kiddos or a small group. The host are super duper friendly and the view is amazing… the place was stocked with everything we needed!!!!
Sabrina, we are so glad we could offer you a place of safe harbour during what must have been a terrible ordeal. Best wishes for your entire family, friends, neighbors and community. Please feel free to come back and relax anytime. Best regards from Udaya and Rhonda Venkatesan.
The cabin is beautiful with provided game system for children if needed. Enough space to entertain a medium size family. The only complaint i have is the dust on the nook and cranies, maybe part of the rustic feel but im also allergy prone.
We stayed for the weekend while fishing a high school tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The hosts were very friendly and helped us with check in and out times because of the tournament. The cabin was awesome. The docks were great, of course the lake was low so they were almost out of the water. Will definately stay again.

Thank you Yessica, we'd love to have you back any time!
It was easy to rent and quick reply on all questions. Only problem we had was we rented the kayaks and there was no way to get to water and lunch them. Other than that family had a great time.

Hello Richard, so glad your family had a great time and you had a great experience with us. We are so sorry you couldn't launch the kayaks. The water level does change so we will compensate you for that. We love to see our guests happy and coming back to enjoy the cabin and the lake.

Comfy cabin with a beautiful view. We were there for my son's wedding so we weren't able to really enjoy the lake much. However, every morning there would be a different boat that would pull up right near the pier/deck and would be catching fish right there at the deck, so it must be a good little fishing spot. The cabin had everything we needed and everything was as advertised on their listing. The owners are very responsive and nice. Overall, I would definitely recommend it, it was nice after working long days the two days before on getting wedding set up work done, to be able to come back and relax with such a beautiful Lake view :-)
Great stay besides Karren next door!! We knew not to block her driveway from the instructions we received and once everyone showed up we were outside getting a game plan together on how we were going to park everyone with their boat and she instantly came outside yelling for us to move!! Besides that everything else was great!
Absolutely any and everything you need is in the home. It was too cold to kayak or use the lake but the fire pit worked as entertainment at the home. We took our bikes to ride around the neighborhood but we did not feel comfortable doing so. Also, we went out for crawfish on Sunday and literally everything was closed. Only the dollar general was open but they were so extremely helpful. Had a great getaway and the home was ultimately cozy and charming. No real need to go anywhere.

Thanks for staying at our cabin John. We took note of the issues you mentioned. We're just a call away for our guests cause we do have spare bulbs for the kitchen light and the outside lights have their own switches, the pier light switch is outside on the shed. The dvd cable was just loose, but we'll put another hdmi. Our cell phone numbers are in the contract. We have the stove being looked at, likely a spill but we will have it resolved. And we don't carry cable tv; it is not listed on any of our descriptions of the cabin. Again, thanks for choosing to stay at Lake Escape.
Overall was stay was great. Very Clean and comfortable. The only thing I would add is maybe have some washcloths for the bathrooms. Other than that, we had a great time and will be back next year!

Washcloths...well, some guests were taking them out for fishing so we had to stop stocking them. Hope that doesn't stop you from coming back and enjoying Lake Escape. You're welcome back anytime. 🙏

Great weekend getaway!
Keeping in touch with the host was very easy. If we needed anything, she was just a text/phone call away!
When we arrived late at night, they left the porch light on for us and we really appreciated that! Although, it wasn’t the cleanest. There were dead bugs all along the bathroom counter, no big deal. There was an eaten lollipop under one of the couches and a few pieces of trash under the other. Again, no big deal. I just feel like if the person before me pays a cleaning fee, then it should get cleaned.
We couldn’t really fish because the wind was so bad but it was still a very relaxing weekend. There’s no much to do around. On day 2, the wind was so bad we couldn’t even throw a line, so we were going to find something to do, but had 0 luck.
Regardless, for a relaxing weekend.. we’d go back!

Kissie, thank you so much for choosing to stay at our cabin. We're glad you got to relax for the weekend. Sorry about the weather not cooperating with the fishing. As far as the bugs, they are a nuisance, they'll find their way in with every opening of the doors. But rest assured, we did talk to our cleaning crew and addressed the bugs and cleaning. Please come back any time, love to host you again. And thank you for being such great guests.

First Vacation in 5 years
Nice and quiet House very comfortable and clean. $150 for canoe rental no access to paddles. Need to clean pine needles from around cabin, need to plug gas line in bathroom valve can be opened by kids. Other than this we enjoyed a well needed rest. Kids had a blast trying to catch fish.

Lloyd, we're so glad your family had good time cathing fish and found the cabin clean and comfortable. The watercrafts are for our guests to rent and enjoy. Per our instructions, we release the combo code for the paddles once payment is received but we did not get payment before or during your stay. And the gas line in the bathroom is not live (left there for the rustic feel of the cabin). Thanks for staying at Lake Escape. Please come back anytime to relax and enjoy the lake.
Great place! Beautiful view of the lake inside and out, and we loved that we could walk out the back door and fish!

About the host
Hosted by Udaya & Rhonda
We are a family of 6 that loves to spend time in nature and getting away from the grind of everyday life. The outdoors is where we find peace and getting to know our children. We are both nurses and very busy parents, so getting away to unwind and spend bonding time with our kids is very important to us. We try to get out to the lake as much as we can to fish, kayak, swim, bbq or just do nothing while sitting on the deck enjoying the birds and breeze and looking out into the water. We were so blessed to find Lake Escape. We have put a lot of our heart and sweat into bringing her back to life. We'd love to share it with you and your family and friends.
Why they chose this property
Lake Escape was a hidden gem that we were lucky to find. Our family fell in love with it as soon as we saw the rustic cabin. Being right on the water and being surrounded by tall trees was just what we wanted. It offers water access to swim, kayak and fish and views that change with the time of day. The charming town of Hemphill is just a short drive away to grab a bite to eat or do some basic shopping. We feel you will fall in love with it just like we did.
What makes this property unique
The rustic cabin is very charming and cozy but offers plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. Lake views can seen from the kitchen, dining, living and back bedroom. Sipping coffee and watching the lake is relaxing as can be. And then if you want, take your coffee to the top or bottom deck to enjoy the sounds of the birds or watch the eagles & cranes swooping down to catch their fish. Dusk is just beautiful as the birds fly back home and boats come back in. And at night, the moonlight just dances on the water and lets you reflect back on a meaningful day.
