This property is a beautifully restored Victorian. No detail was sacrificed. I would consider this more of a boutique hotel than a B&B. It’s not as personal as a small B&B, but management and staff were all nice people. We’d recommend it if you want to experience staying in an authentic Victorian home walking distance to town.

Disliked: Check-in
Booked, paid, and confirmed. Arrived and host had no record of reservation from VRBO and said it had happened before with VRBO. I had to get thru VRBO AI help to finally get a person. They had no way to manually confirm the reservation with host. They did call host to discuss, but no stay possible. We had to find other lodging last minute. VRBO customer service did an immediate cancellation on our “missing” reservation and credited amount back to my credit card on the second day after, which was the only positive thing. Our next VRBO spot on this trip was great.
I first stayed at the Ginger bread house in the 80ies not long after it became a B&B. It is just as wonderful now as it was then. From tea time to the stroll in the garden is was a magical stay. The one draw back was booking through VRBO. I was not able to contact the hostess directly and wasn't sure how to check in. It is best to make reservations by directly calling them. There was a guest there who had called in the afternoon and was able to get a room that night. The dining room was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. A great weekend get away.
