This cabin is just so special! Repeat visitor because of how wonderful this property is and all the natural beauty that it surrounds it. Jackie's attention to detail and thoughtful hosting makes all the difference. 10/10!
We had a great time in this off grid cabin. It was a beautiful location in a really lovely wood cottage. Our favorite part was just relaxing on the screened in porch listening to the loons in the evening. It got a little hot during our stay, so the limited electricity for a fan was a bummer but not a dealbreaker by any means. Would definitely recommend.

It has been warmer than usual this year. I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit.
Absolute silence! Our stay at the cabin was near perfect. The bed is comfortable, kitchen stocked, generator full and ready to go. The kayaks, paddle board, paddle boat and canoe we're a great addition. The loons at dusk were heavenly. We thoroughly enjoyed the sliw pace with oil lantern and board games at night.
Wonderful, cozy little cabin with everything you need. Very private and secluded, "off the grid" with a generator to use for charging and anything else you need. Picturesque and beautiful. Jackie is also a wonderful host who has truly thought of everything you could need in this home. It's clear how much she cares and has put into this property. Would love to return!

Thank you both so much. I appreciate the information about the location. It was nice meeting you.
Beautiful location. Get your nature on at this off-grid cabin. Note, lights and plumbing are powered by generator. The fridge and range are gas powered, so always available. The generator is push to start from within cabin - it’s very convenient but does make noise. Oil lamps are provided for evening lighting. Kitchen is stocked with staples for cooking. In-cabin full bathroom with toilet and shower has instant hot water heater that produces warm water. Google maps led us astray for directions, recommend following written instructions from host.
The perfect place to unplug your devices and recharge your spiritrecharge
This was the most peaceful and private cabin in an exquisite spot overlooking a vast pond. Our host was so kind and attentive, and her camp is clean, cozy and well outfitted with everything you might need during a nature retreat. We brought our canoe and paddled with the loons every day. A good spot to explore Down East Maine along the coast as well.
We had the best time ever. No phones, no tv, the scenery is beautiful and the cabin is great. We kayaked the lake a few times, the misquitos were a little bad. The fireflies were so cool.
This was our 2nd time at Jackie's beautiful camp. We chose to come back.because we were looking for a quiet place with a forest and lakeview away from any city noises. Jackie's camp has everything we were looking for! We loved our stay and thoroughly enjoyed spending a lot of time on the lake (swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding), walking in the area, cooking all of our meals on the gas stove or using the available bbq, and relaxing every night on the screened-in porch while looking at the amazing nature and lake in front of us, watching the stars and listening to the loons. Once again, pure paradise. Thank you Jackie for allowing us to enjoy your camp this summer!
We spent a week here in this clean, thoughtfully decorated camp. There are not enough words to express what an amazing time we had in this quiet, blissful setting. The house is well equipped with everything you need and more. The owner was gracious, responsive, and full of great tips. We enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and fishing. We also enjoyed the sunrise and sunset each day as well as the wildlife. A momma bird had built a nest off of the screened in porch and we got to watch her feed her babies while sitting at the kitchen table. Driving out one day we got to see our first moose in the wild! One of the best vacations we have ever had totally unplugged! We hope to be back in the near future!
We awoke Thursday morning to the sound of silence, only the crickets greeted us with their soothing call. As it was our last day in this breath-takingly beautiful camp on Spectacle Pond, Paul and I quickly dressed for a final kayak paddle around the shore. The surface of the water was like glass, the only sound the hum of the wind turbines that stretched and twirled like modern dancers on a back-woods stage.
Annie, Rachael, Paul and I had a wonderful visit to Jackie’s Hemlock Way Camp, a fabulous and restful stop on our way further east to Prince Edward Island. The beautiful architecture of the camp, connected us with nature, with its pond facing screen porch and master bedroom insuring we always knew what a special spot we had found. I even managed to pull a bike off the car to explore more of Spectacle Pond road. I stopped to visit with Jackie’s sweet neighbors Heidi and Ron who showed me their sweet camp and sent me on my way with a bag of freshly picked blueberries! It was truly a morning in Maine I am not likely to forget!
Our other rental got canceled with relatively short notice. We were lucky to find this listing to replace it. It was lovely for my husband and I, but it was not for us in terms of a family of 4 vacation. My two teens (17, 19) lasted 2-days. They loved the paddle boat, the fire-pit and the Peruvian Link Alpaca store/farm close by. It was perfect for us as a couple. We stayed for the rest of the week and loved all the boats (especially the Old Town canoe), the screened in porch (screened underneath the floor too!) the peacefulness in the forest (and on the pond). There were also numerous thoughtful details around the cabin. The beds/ pillows/ linens were incredibly comfortable, topped with a real quilt. There are a wide variety of lighting options: flashlights, led rechargeable lights under cabinets, an LED handheld lantern, candles and oil lamps. The kitchen was stocked enough with supplies that I cooked pulled pork and chicken enchiladas, with ingredients I brought from home. We had everything we needed, less a cheese grater. I should mention that we brought our Berkey water filter with us, so drinking water wasn't an issue. Also want to note that the pond is also surrounded by a handful of enormous windmills. We found their motion to be calming, almost soothing- and they turn pink during the sunset! Keep in mind, if windmills are not your thing. We came home thoroughly relaxed, dreaming of loons and wood ducks! Thanks Jackie!
Definitely loved this location! Off the grid for sure no doubt about that. Property was clean as expected for a camp. Comfortable furnishings and plenty of space to relax inside or outside. It got cold a few nights while staying there but started a fire and it was perfect. But I sure did miss having a fan when it wasn't cold at night while sleeping... Camp had a small fan but it didn't work even after changing the batteries. We brought a box fan but we couldn't run the generator at night so I couldn't use that either. Also lighting was tricky at night. Bathroom has a battery operated one on the was which was super helpful but all the other ones had to be charged or needed batteries (flashlights). Better lighting options would be nice especially after the generator has to be off. We did finally find some under counter lights after day 3 that helped but they had to be charged which was hard to charge when you have to charge everything else with only 2 outlets in the whole camp. We managed but it definitely took a few days to get adjusted. I'm hoping the shower (hot water) situation got resolved. That was not fun showering with cold water. The pond was great. Kayaking on one of the best weather days before the rain came in the last two days we were there. Caught a few fish but never saw any wildlife. I wish would've talked advantage of the beach while I was there but I forgot about it until the last day. If you want a relaxing off the grid trip to escape everything this is it.
Wonderful experience of being totally unplugged from the noise of the world, tv and news. Just enough of an internet connection. We could listen to the family of the loons at the lake while enjoying a glass of wine by the bonfire. There is plenty of wood so no need to buy on your own. Morning coffee with an incredible view. Colorful sunsets and dark night sky with thousands of stars that mirrored in the peaceful lake. We love this quiet location. Cottage is beautiful with so much personal touch. We found everything we needed, from soft sheets, clean towels, comfortable beds to the kitchen utensils and seasonings that were such a help as well as tea, coffee and some snacks !! Oh, and the cast iron fry pans that made the best omelets -with some of my husband's help:) Kayaks, canoe and paddle boards were amazing plus. My son spent hours fishing for pickerels. This place is so private and it is simply something rare. We call it recharge and happiness!! Will be back. Thank you so much Jackie !!

We loved our stay at this camp!!! The owner was very nice and available to help with any questions. The photos do not make justice to how beautiful and peaceful this paradise camp actually is. We enjoyed every part of this camp: the lake, the loons, available kayaks & paddle boards, the camp that was well equipped with everything you need. The tasteful hand made cabinets & decorations make this place very cozy and unique. Waking up every morning with a beautiful view of the hemlock trees, the lake, the smell of nature & hemlock trees, the sound of the loons...just magical. Thank you Jackie for allowing us to spend this amazing time at your camp!
