To truly appreciate the mountain experience, gather around our fire pit for an evening under the stars. Outside there is a gas BBQ grill on the deck and a gas fire pit down below. Grab one of our cozy throw blankets and sit on the deck to take in the fresh mountain air. Alternatively, snuggle up with a fire in our wood fireplace inside and enjoy the large windows looking out the front, perfect for viewing the breathtaking views and local wildlife.
We take great pride in offering a family friendly cabin. Our cabin offers a natural outdoor space. From our deck, our cabin is sure to provide the perfect mountain getaway for your family. We loved the retro vibe of this cabin. It was quaint and comfortable. Everything was as expected and my family enjoyed our quiet time here. The fort in the back was especially cool for my kids to explore.
Location is great! Clean, great amenities, nice place to stay!It advertises as for 6 adults. We had 3 adults and 3 teenagers. It felt a bit cramped. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Hi Carla, the 788 sf cabin is 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths and sleeps up to 6 with the full size pullout sofa bed in the living room as described in the listing. Yes, it can be quite cozy with 6 people.
Heather has been very kind and supportive of our requests on certain things during our stay. Cabin is conveniently located about 5-7 min drive to Grand lake
We had a marvelous stay in Grand Lake! It's only minutes away from RMNP which we visited just about everyday! The cabin is well kept and has every supply you will ever need! We spent every morning and evening on the beautiful porch looking at mountains! Moose walked across the road from us!Thank you to Heather and family for sharing this great experience with us!
Very clean and overall comfortable cabin with everything you need to enjoy staying put. We really enjoyed the front deck at night cooking out and looking at the stars.
We loved our time at Rocky Mountain National Park and staying at this property. Everything was perfect for our family of 4, and the house was actually larger than I expected. We would definitely stay again!

Thank you, Joshua! It was so great having you and your family at the cabin. We would welcome you back anytime!
My wife and I stayed in the cabin from Sunday to Thursday. We will definitely be coming back. It is located just outside of the town of Grand Lake, which for us was perfect. We had complete privacy and we were able to be away from the crowds after dinner. Access is super easy, the wifi works great and Heather is an awesome host. She answers questions quickly and makes you feel very welcome. The cabin has everything you would need and most things that you may have forgotten.
Very nice cabin, just wish there was some more yard work done, weeds were very overgrown especially in sitting area around campfire

Hi Tim,
Thank you for letting me know the weeds were overgrown around the campfire. I’ll get someone in there right away! Appreciate your feedback and apologies for the inconvenience.
Best,
Heather
Yes, that’s right, Judy. As the listing describes, we are about a five minute drive to downtown Grand Lake. We don’t recommend walking along the highway to get to town. We recommend driving. Thank you!
This was a wonderful cabin. Nice and quiet area with no shortage of fresh air and views. Just the right distance from Grand Lake so you don’t feel crowded, and yet you are close enough to food and fun.
Would definitely stay here again. Even the teenaged kid and our little dog felt at home.

Chris, so glad you enjoyed the cabin! Winter is among our favorite times of year to be in Grand Lake. It's very cozy and quiet, and there's amazing cross-country skiing and snowmobiling! We hope to have you back again!
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin! Beautiful scenery and great location for us. The host decorated the cabin for our honeymoon and it was so sweet! Heather made the check in/check out process so easy. The cabin is just like the pictures and the mountains are even more perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay!
This property is conveniently located. We had no issues with anything at the cabin. It was the most well equipped place we’ve ever stayed at. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Owner was responsive with answers to questions regarding local restaurants and other things to do. We would definitely stay again.

About the host

We have always been off-the-beaten path travelers and have enjoyed staying at VRBO places since inception. It offered us an affordable option to get out into beautiful, remote places, travel with our dog, and have all the modern necessities we needed and wanted in a vacation rental, especially a kitchen and outdoor space.
Now that we have a kid, we still enjoy VRBO traveling, only now it affords us the opportunity to have a second bedroom versus cramming us all into one hotel room with lights out at 7:30 pm!
We wanted to share our tiny cabin with you for the same reasons. We hope you enjoy the beauty and serenity of Grand Lake as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I first fell in love with Grand Lake when our friends offered us their rustic cabin for our honeymoon in September 2010. We've been coming up every spring, fall or winter to enjoy different parts of Grand County ever since.
We truly enjoy the beauty of the national park, the lakes and the mountains, the wonderful and caring community, the laid back outdoor lifestyle, and the peace and quiet.
We find great pleasure in having nothing to do but to read a book or to enjoy each other's company sitting by the fire, cooking meals, playing cards, or working on puzzles together.
We knew we found the right place when on the day of our closing, we had an impromptu sleep-over with old friends and their kids. It didn't matter that the place was a little dusty from being vacant and our new beds hadn't arrived yet. We had clean sheets, plenty of fresh pillows and blankets for everyone and great company. The kids played with sticks in the yard for hours, while the adults made dinner, caught up with each other and shared stories.
We filled the cabin with laughter all night, went on a big hike the next day, and made great memories in just 24 hours.
That is exactly what the cabin is for!
What makes this property unique
We love that we have the best of everything Colorado has to offer all within a short drive -- skiing at Winter Park, soaking at Hot Sulpher Springs, XX-skiing and Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park and boating in Granby and Shadow Mountain lakes!
We also cannot resist the charming and quaint town of Grand Lake where kids and adults can run free!
