Our stay was perfect in every way! The house is amazing. Not only is it a beautiful large house, the hosts have thought about everything their guests could want. The kitchen had everything you need to cook incredible meals (and we did). It was a lovely space to spend time with friends, while having plenty of space to step away to work in private. The house was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts could not have been nicer and made sure to check in to be sure we didn’t have any questions during our visit. This is absolutely one of the best homes we have visited and we would love to return!
An absolutely magical stay! We were in town for a funeral so there was sadness but juxtaposed against the beauty of the house, the surrounding forest brushed with snow, the warm Christmas decorations, the beautiful art work, the well stocked kitchen and the above and beyond hospitality of our hosts, our sadness found consolation.
What a beautiful house! We were 3 couples & had plenty of room to spread out & relax. Chris was very easy to communicate with. He answered any questions right away. We would definitely come back here again.
The kitchen was the heartbeat of our stay and did not disappoint. Since we were a group aged 19 to 93 it was a great place to gather and my mom could sit in the treehouse dining area while everyone else buzzed around prepping and cooking. The coffee and tea area was like being in a luxury hotel and the cookware, dishware, and glassware was over the top!
Our family had a wonderful stay. First time get together for my two grandchildren and also had great grandma join us. We were in town for my nephew’s wedding and the location was perfect for getting to all the events. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and to come together. Nice large kitchen space for making a few meals and chatting around the island. The small table next to the kitchen was my favorite spot to have a cup of tea and enjoy the view. The host, Chris, was very responsive and I appreciated all the information he provided.
We had a great stay here for daughter's Yale graduation. Our host Chris greeted us when we arrived and was very helpful. The house was a retreat at the end of a couple of busy days.
Artistically designed and appointed retreat in a natural setting that is convenient to CT/RI shorelines, hiking trails, vineyards, arts and entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and attentive hosts.
This home was the perfect place for us to stay. It felt cozy and spacious at the same time. We had two couples, two kiddos and one single and had plenty of space to do our own things as well as cozy areas to just hang out and enjoy our time all together.
We stayed at this house for almost 2 months! It was a wonderful experience. Chris, the host, could not have been more accommodating. Everything you see in the pics and what you read in the property description is 110% accurate. Privacy was superb. Very highly recommend this property. We would have stayed another month if it hadn't already been booked for other guests. Thank you, Chris.

Tony and Arthur, it was such a pleasure to have you as our guests for almost two months. Thank you for the wonderful review, nothing thrills us more than happy guests!
We hope to see you again.
Beautiful house tucked away in the woods. Very private but close to everything. There's a grocery store 5 minutes away, and its proximity to the highway makes the drive to beaches in Old Saybrook 15 minutes or less away. The house itself has more then enough space. Every room has beautiful views from large windows. Very peaceful and serene. Boasts a top notch kitchen / eat in area, along with two living rooms, dining room, washer/dryer, 3.5 baths, and 4 bedrooms. The owner is very nice, courteous, accommodating, and seems genuinely invested in making sure we had a great stay.Highly recommend to anyone.
Chris' house was lovely. Lots of room for our gal's weekend away--good location, amazingly well-stocked kitchen, and spacious baths. We spent most of our time in the dining aerie, but the "den" was quite comfy, too. Thank you.
This "glasshouse" was beautiful in the woods. It is well maintained with comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms. There are different areas t just sit and talk with a beautiful big kitchen. The owners were very easy to work with and attentive to our needs. I definitely recommend this beautiful Architectural house.
We had a great experience here! Attending a wedding over the weekend at Smith Farm Gardens, we had plenty of room for all of us. Grateful for the air conditioning and the beautiful space, there were plenty of places to sit and read or watch the Olympics and hang out and listen to music. There are, as listing says, lots of steps so we got our workouts in! Very clean, comfortable, beautiful and welcoming.
This is our 12th year doing mother daughter weekend meaning my two cousins, my two aunts, myself and my mom. This was our favorite house so far. The house is so unique, so beautiful and glass!! It was so clean the owner was super responsive with any and everything. You were close to the beach close to the wineries close to great restaurants. What a grand time!! I would highly recommend this property for any stay you are having!!
We loved our stay at the Glass House! It was in such a special place for our family, and the setting was just magical. The home was exactly as described, and there were so many thoughtful and special touches throughout the home. We loved the kitchen supplies, the coffee the owners left us, the soaps in the bathrooms, and most of all the art! Every room was different and unique. The owners were very friendly, and easy to communicate with. We would love to stay again! 5/5

Thank you Jenny, we are always happy when our guests are happy, please come again.
Our family stayed here while visiting family in area prior to Christmas. The home was extremely well appointed and kitchen had all the amenities you would need. Loved how the house was laid out to offer privacy for all guests with sleeping arrangements and the living spaces were beautiful. Very comfortable beds and bathrooms all updated and new. Was beautiful in winter so summer must be gorgeous here with the landscaping. The owner was very responsive. Grocery store was quick 5 minute drive. Highly recommend you stay here on your next getaway to this area. You won’t be disappointed!

Thank you Joyce, for the fabulous review. It makes us happy when guests enjoy our house….
We chose this location to stay at while we were attending a wedding in Westbrook. It was easy to drive by the driveway as it is a wooded street but when we got the right one, we drove down the long driveway to a beautiful glass home (the description wasn’t lying!). It was filled w art and live plants and was as beautiful inside as it was out. Plenty of space and we liked that some of the rooms were a bit segregated from each other so we could have some quiet time if needed. Note that it does get a bit warm in the day inside but cools down at night (and in fairness it was 100 degrees outside when we stayed there!) as well as there are a fair amount of steps to enter and inside to get to the bedrooms and some additional rooms. The check in/out process was incredibly accommodating and easy-host was super helpful and informative!
Five of my college friends returned to the area to attend our 20th reunion and chose to stay at this beautiful VRBO about 25 minutes from our campus. The house was exactly as depicted in the online pictures/description. It was artsy, modern, comfortable, and beautiful, with various thoughtful touches from the hosts. Three of the formal bedrooms are tucked away nicely. The 4th/loft bedroom (where I slept) is wonderful/comfortable, but does open up to the kitchen, so make sure you're okay with a bit of late-night or morning noise, if others are still awake. I did choose on the last night to sleep in the den on the large and incredibly comfortable couch, so really, this house has a ton of options for comfortable sleeping!Everything was incredibly clean. Both the check-in process and communication with the host was very easy. Check-out procedures were also very easy! And the location of the house is amazing! The 25-minute drive to our campus flew by, and it was well worth it to be nestled in this beautiful wooded property. I already want to book this house again for our 25th reunion!
We stayed at this property for a week over Christmas in 2024 for a family celebration of Christmas and a very special Birthday. Chris was very easy to communicate with in advance of our trip and was there to meet us upon check-in. He even helped us unload the car as it was getting late and quite cold (for Floridians). The home was beautifully appointed (as in the photos), very comfortable and had plenty of space for 7 people who arrived over the first few days. The kitchen was well equipped to prepare Christmas dinner, and the beds were amazingly comfortable for everyone. Great cell service, beautiful views from every room and just a fantastic experience. Chris checked-in with us via text nearly every day to assure all was well, which was most appreciated. Several of the nearby towns are wonderful to explore such as Essex, Mystic and Stonington and if you have the time; Newport, RI. We highly recommend this property for both the aesthetics and functionality of the property as well as the care that Chris and Derick have taken in this lovely home.

It was such a pleasure to have Joe and Carolann at our house for their Christmas and Birthday splash, what wonderful people and the best guests ever.
We are so happy that you first VRBO experience exceeded your expectations.
We hope to see you again.
What a stunningly beautiful, relaxing and private home! There was a different view of the forest surroundings from every huge window and each room had a unique mix of bold artwork, collectables and design. The kitchen was fantastic, with more plates, cups, utensils, pots, serving dishes or spices than you could imagine. It would have been easy to prepare and serve extensive meals, which we would have done had we stayed longer. The beds were comfortable, the bedrooms quiet and the bathrooms were clean, fairly spacious and recently remodeled. Check-in and check-out were very simple and communication with the owner, Christof, was easily the best we’ve ever experienced at a home rental. He was easy to contact, extremely responsive, and personally was very engaging and helpful without being intrusive. It should be emphasized that this is a contemporary-style house and almost every room is on a different level than the others…so people with mobility issues might find it somewhat difficult to navigate. Also, due to all the huge windows (some with almost 270 degree views), the upper floor can get quite warm in the late afternoon and evening as might be expected when the outside temperatures reached the upper 90s, but the combination of AC and fans brought those rooms down to comfortable sleeping temperatures by nightfall. For me and my family, this has been our all-time favorite place to stay and look forward to returning for a much longer visit as soon as we can.
