We were a group of 11 snowmobilers who needed a house with plenty of room that was not far from the snowmobile system in the area. This house seemed to fit the bill. The host was very responsive given the fact he was living in Costa Rica. We woke up the first morning to 54 degree temps in the house. The propane tank went dry. He took care of the issue right away. One dissappointment was the size of the kitchen. It was small for a 6,800 sq ft home. Overall experience was good.
This cabin was great! Had 15 guys in town for a bachelor party and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The rooms were clean and the property was very tidy. Would highly consider booking again with a large group!
This was an awesome place for our family to spend a few days together! The house is spectacular, with amazing woodwork and with a kitchen and living room big enough for all of us. We really appreciates the great barbecue as well. Excellent location as well. This was just what we needed for our family to get together. Thanks also for being so responsive and helpful.
This property has a ton of potential and space for large groups. We had had a large group and had plenty of space together socializing, sleeping and privacy as needed.
The property was not particularly clean. There were dead flies everywhere and a mice problem had them leaving sunflower seeds in one of the beds. Super disappointing.
The bedrooms were very nice. We enjoyed the entertainment such as the wide selection of movies, pool table, bath etc. The biggest issue we had was the lack of lotion or chapstick.
Our three kids and teenage grandkids and 3 exchange student at stayed for several days and absolutely loved the place! Plenty of room for everyone. The house is big enough for some to be on different levels or outside at the fire ring and nobody got in anyone’s way. The host Tom was great to work with and was very helpful assisting us in finding a pontoon rental and in describing things to do in the area. We all had a fantastic time and look forward to returning again soon.
We rented the place to celebrate our engagement with friends. There was lots of room to play games, inside and out! Nice sized driveway so it was easy to park the 7 cars we took. Well maintained, lots of cooking supplies and plenty of fridge space so no need to buy ice for coolers until you leave. A couple outlets by the stove didn't work but there were others we could use so not a big deal. Music/sound does travel well throughout the house. Overall a great place to stay and would love to come here again in the future!
Here is information about the property and the note that I sent to the owner due to the fact that he misrepresented his property. You can decide if you want to stay at this location.
1. You did not disclose that there was a "resident" cat on the premises during our stay.
Any animal, pet or otherwise, should not be on the interior premises ever. Along with people having allergies to animals, cleanliness of the interior premises cannot be maintained. Two of my guests have minor allergies to cats, causing them to take over the counter medication to relieve their symptoms. Also, although I did not see this before it was cleaned up, one guest told me that he found feces and vomit, apparently from the cat, on the floor near the pool table in the basement. He cleaned it up and disposed of it before I had a chance to witness it or record it with a photo. Along with the allergies, this cat was allowed to be loose in the house at all hours, having access to any foodstuffs that were left out. It was seen on all of the furniture, the dining room seats, couches etc... That is not the way to maintain sanitized conditions in a facility.
2. BATS-You have a bat issue and bat feces were present at the entrance to the house all of the time. These feces were tracked into the house on shoes by anyone that walked into the house through the front door. Feces of any sort are not sanitary and can cause all sorts of disease. Bats were also present during the evening hours on the back deck. Feces were also present on the roof over/near the grill on the back deck. Water landing on the roof carries the feces off of the roof and onto the back deck area, furniture, grill, deck area, spreading it all over.
3. Owner on premises-You did not disclose that you would be present or enter the premises during any part of our stay. If you were going to be present at any time, you need to disclose this information. It creates an uncomfortable situation and one that needs to be addressed at the time of booking.
I just returned from a reunion with a few of my friends from college at this location and had a wonderful time. The cabin is in a secluded area that gave us privacy, yet Grand Rapids was under 15 minutes away so it was easy to get supplies when necessary. We also had plenty of activities and room to do them, which was wonderful for our group and made it easy to stay on site and relax. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and hope to revisit in the future.
We had a family girls weekend (first in 10 years). The house was perfect for our 11 women. We were able to gather in the kitchen to prepare meals together, all sit around in the living room and on the deck together to visit. Great location for morning walks and just enough to do in town to spend an afternoon but not distract from the time together. The house, location, and amenities were perfect for us!
The cabin was awesome. Great big yard for games. Beds were comfortable and enough to easily sleep the 10 guys we had with several open beds remaining. Would definitely rent again.
We enjoyed the unique, roomy and comfortable home. Great property with access to a good little town. Weather was awesome and we didn’t get eaten by mosquitos since there was a candle on the property that kept most at bay. Would recommend for anyone in the area looking for a launching pad for leisure activities!
Very unique house, great communication from owner.
Log cabin style house, very cool and unique. A few trivial things (towels and ice trays) needed addressing and owner took care of quickly. 5 rooms with single queen or king and one room with 2 bunk beds. We had 14 in our party, couple of teens ended up on couch in basement. Pool table and fire pit were a hit. Master suite is nice but would be nice if doors had knobs on it, again trivial, but a hint for owner. Nice yard for spike ball and volleyball net that we brought. Tons of fridges and TVs all over the place.
Everyone in our group had a great time, loved the cabin, everything was very easy, owner was prompt at answering any questions, cabin is undersold through the pictures on the listing, much bigger and better in person.
4 couples from our Covette Club decided to beat the Virus by going to cabin in the woods. It was GREAT cabin...large and beautiful. Would be nice for large family gathering too!
Thanks for a great stay and time to gather for FUN with our friends.
