Thank you for staying at our Maine house and for leaving it so nice. Also thank you for the nice review--we try our best to make it a home away from home.
We hope that you will stay with us again the next time you are visiting family in Maine!

The house and property were well kept. It was peaceful and we could hear the sounds of nature and even had a few deer in the backyard. The hosts were great to deal with and we hope to stay there again. Great place!
The house and property were charming and in great condition. I just loved the adorable kids' room, cute sunroom, and peaceful back yard. A very relaxing stay with all the necessities and many perks provided.
The home was very comfortable. Except for the mosquitoes outside we enjoyed our stay

Thank you for the nice review. We are so glad we made the decision to add the sun room with all the screened windows. They had set it up for a wraparound deck but somehow a three season room with lots of screened windows made more sense so we did the deck in front, sun room on the end and patio in back for grilling. Our builder gave us the best advice. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
The hosts were very helpful and friendly, the house was very nice and well stocked. I thought it was over all a comfortable and relaxing stay. Thank you for letting us stay at your house. Karen P.

Thank you for staying at our Brownfield house. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our little slice of serenity and thank you for leaving it so nice.
Hope that you will stay with us again!

This was a great out of the way place to unwind. You definitely don't have to worry about noise from the neighbors. If you want to enjoy the sounds of nature while being 15-20 minutes from the local market, this is your place.
And being only an hour away from activities (kayaking, the beach, breweries, etc) was just fine for us.

Great weekend away
Traveled with my wife and child in December and the house was awesome for us. Clean, big, and welcoming. We didn’t see any wildlife but we certainly had the quiet and relaxation of the Maine woods. Noreen and Tom were excellent from start to finish. Thinking of coming back up in the spring or summer to enjoy the area during the nice weather. Highly recommend !
Stairs at each level so traveling companion was challenged. House had some unusual features… I would say not our best VRBO experience but certainly not the worst. Price was right and we had to book rather last minute. Hosts were helpful!

There are three steps up into the living room/sunroom level and two years ago Tom installed a railing for his 95-year-old Mom to use to get to that level easier.
You may not have noticed that there is a twin day bed in the sunroom on that level where his Mom slept so that she wouldn't have to go up to the 2nd floor where the other two BR's are. The bathroom on the 1st floor was easy for her and has a shower and we have night lights in all the rooms to make it easy to navigate to use the 1st floor bathroom in the middle of the night.
If we had know that one of your traveling companions had mobility challenges we would have recommended that you have her sleep on the sunroom twin bed/daybed so that she would have only needed to do the 3 steps up and down to access the kitchen/dining and 1st floor bathroom.
Tom's mom loved her sun room bedroom when we spent Christmas there in 2019. Always let the host know when there are mobility issues and that way we can help you have the best possible experience.
“Charlotte” was so warm and welcoming.
And refreshing cool inside.
We enjoyed our time together celebrating our 22nd anniversary.
Lots of cute towns and restaurants near by. We also enjoyed sitting in the back area watching the wildlife.
If we had longer we would have explored more of the hikes and sights near by.
Nice and clean ,well stocked and exactly what we expected .Communication was easy and very friendly.
I hope to stay again and will recommend.
Thank you!

Hello Andrea & family,
Thank you for the great review of our little getaway in Maine. So glad that you bonded with "Charlotte", and that you will be back again. Hiking and swimming on the nearby Kancamagus Highway in NH is one of our favorite pastimes as well as the restaurants and theater in Bridgton.
We hope you will stay again and thank you for leaving the house nice.

Pros:
Very nice, secluded house. We especially loved the back patio facing the woods.
Well-stocked kitchen and dining area.
Clean
Friendly communication from hosts.
Cons:
The tap water was unpleasant.
Mattress in master sagged in the middle. I think it's worn out.

Our son went up there and told us about the water so we had the water heater cleaned which is one of the drawbacks when the house isn't used all the time minerals build up in it. It is all set now and the water tastes fine--we were just up there to check on it.
The mattress is a Sealy and is not that old but maybe needs to be flipped so we will do that next time we are up there.
Hope you got to see some of the deer, wild turkeys and blue jays off the back patio we saw when we were there last week.
Thank you for leaving the house nice. We appreciate it.
Our family spent 4 nights in this property over February break. We really enjoyed the stay. The house is very open with plenty of room to spread out. It’s clear that the owner really cares about the property and the guests that stay there. I really enjoyed flipping through a folder with wonderful recipes, I even took pictures of many recipes and look forward to trying them at home. We went skiing in Attitash on 3 of the days that we were there. As advertised, the drive was 40 minutes through mostly backroads. Our family of 4 also enjoyed watching movies on Netflix available on the tv in the living room. Overall, great stay with no complaints.

The house has everything you need for a family getaway. It’s clean, cozy and private. Noreen was a pleasure to speak with. Thank you for sharing your vacation home!
The house is secluded in the woods. Nice property. Would visit again in a different season… plenty of room. And everything was provided by the hosts from kitchen supplies to shovels and everything is well labeled. Good communication throughout our stay.

We loved our stay here! It was so nice and peaceful! Our toddlers loved the little bedroom upstairs, they were “babysitting” the dolls a lot of the time. Very nice stay and we hope to return next year

Thank you for choosing our Maine getaway and for leaving the house nice. We hope that you will stay at "Charlotte" again. Tom handmade one of the cradles for our daughter Jenna and the doll was her "baby" when we found out she would soon be a big sister. She will be happy to hear that your kids were taking care of her baby...
Lovely home, very secluded in the woods, beautiful scenery and just a short drive to Portland, Maine. Close to resort villages, lakes, the saco river and the White mountains of New Hampshire. Would recommend, loved this area and the home met our needs perfectly.

About the host
Hosted by Noreen Thompsen
Grew up near the Utah (him) and NH (her) mountains and missed them when we moved to Cape Cod. Needed to have a little getaway near the Swift River and ('Kank') and King Pine where our kids learned to ski & skate and we got back into it.
Why they chose this property
Loved the quiet rural feel of this house where you can hear deer and wild turkeys walking through the woods at night NO TRAFFIC noise.
The birds also love our bird feeders and hang out on the front deck and back patio.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the pine walls and beams and when the builder we hired to add the pine sunroom suggested we do a pine ceiling in there too we thought he was brilliant! Walking in 2 + acres the woods behind the house also gives a great dose of nature.
